Deseo at the Westin Kierland Resort & SpaFoodie delightThis was our second visit to Deseo. It's a bit of a trip from where we live, but the food is so worth it. Millionaire taco appetizer was spectacular. This time around I tried a chicken dish with a jicama slaw. Very tasty. And for dessert, the chocolate cigar complete with a candy matchbook and cappuccino gelato was outstanding. Atmosphere and decor are elegant with enough room between tables to ensure privacy during conversation. I had friends visiting from out of town and everyone was impressed. The food was outstanding. Everything exploded with flavor. The Halibut was great as was the Kobe steak. There was a very busy rice casserole that we couldn't get enough of. Just as our very helpful server said, the portions are a good size, not the tiny portions you might expect from a high end, cutting edge restaurant. The restaurant was attractive with a cool bar. My friends now think I am a restaurant maven. He always has a work in progress. Gets a little pricy when you end up buying artwork every time you go to Deseo for dinner, but worth it. The menu offers a wide selection of nuevo Latino cuisine and a great selection of South American wines to accompany your meal selection.
