Denver Tea Room reviews from OpenTable diners
  • Keeping a promise

I promised my mom I'd take her for high tea last Mother's Day. Well I finally was able to keep that promise. I wasn't sure where we would be going as one of Denver's most popular spots was booked for months. Since I'm only in town a few times a year I found the Denver Tea Room on line. Once I read the reviews I decided we'd try it. Mom invited a couple of friends, and I brought my sister, and granddaughter. We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the service wonderful, and the tea was awesome! Since this was a first for most of the ladies I'm always apprehensive, but the experience is worth it. We all had a wonderful afternoon. The experience and the memories are well worth it. We'll absolutely come again...

I went for Afternoon Tea and there were 5 of us including my two grandchildren 2& 4. We all enjoyed the occasion of my grandchildren’s first afternoon tea. They served a children's menu for tea and the adult menu offerings would meet the standards of any English Tea Room. The table settings were elegant. The decor was pleasing period pieces and great for our photos. The immediate area surroundings may have been uneasy but the establishment itself was set apart from the surroundings.

If you are looking for a cozy and delicious high tea in a charming historic location, then look no further. My friends and I had a great christmas high tea! We were seated at the sofa and low chairs in the sun room and were completely pampered by the professional staff. Plenty of variety in the tea selection, scrumptious warm and cold dishes served with the tea, and a note- there is no bar here but if you like champagne with tea you are welcome to BYOB. This place is hands down the best small tea room in town!

The service here was fantastic, and they treated us very well. Unfortunately, we were there the same time as a children's party. The staff apologized when we arrived, and they were right - it was very loud and distracting. We were seated on a couch in a cubby area off the main room, which could have been cozy, but the kids were watching us like animals at the zoo. Also, since the food was served on the coffee table, my guest was very uncomfortable and ended up wearing most of her food. When we were leaving they had cleaned the main room and some 40+ ladies were coming in...it looked like they were going to have a much better time than we did. Wish we were warned at the time we made the reservation, so we could have rescheduled.

This was my second trip to the Tea Room and I was not disappointed. Price wise it isn't something I would be able to do very often but it is great for a special occasion out with a spouse or girl's time with grandmothers, moms, and daughters. Their food is exceptional and well worth the price and their tea selection is wonderful. Even people who don't typically drink tea can enjoy the experience. The decor and setting are beautiful and the staff are exceptionally helpful, knowledgable, and attentive. Overall it is one of my favorite places we've found in Denver.

We went to the Denver Tea Room to celebrate a birthday. It was amazing! The dining room was small enough that it was not noisy and felt very comfortable, not rushed or a lot of servers passing through. I can't say enough good things about the tea and food. My pot was always full. We had a great time celebrating with 3 generations!

I found the Denver Tea Room (DTR) just by googling "tea rooms." It is located in a bed-and-breakfast in Denver. Friends of mine and I are university administrators. Whenever we have meetings across the country, we take an hour or so to go to tea. The DTR is run by two sisters. One serves as hostess while the other prepares the food and teas. The two are the best! The food was delicious--especially the sandwiches. Portion sizes are appropriate; however, we enjoyed the chicken salad sandwiches so much we asked for extras. The cucumber sandwich is one of the best I've ever had! There is a vast selection of teas. They even created a special tea combo for one of my friends. I give the DTR the highest rating and highly recommend it!

Denver Tea provides tea, it is not a restaurant. The tea includes wonderful finger sandwiches (including cucumber), a cup of soup, several pastries and bottomless pots of tea. The service was great very attentive and it was a great deal of fun. They also do themed teas for kids which my wife (a second grade teacher) and I thought would be alot of fun. If you have never done an English tea this is a fun way to spend an afternoon (we were there for 2 and a half hours.

My friend and I had tea on a Wednesday. It was just the afternoon we needed to chat and catch up and the Denver Tea Room provided the perfect environment for that. The tea was delicious and the tea snacks that were served completely wowed us. We thought we'd be hungry after the 'snacks' since we didn't eat lunch, but we were stuffed to the brim when we left. I highly recommend it!

Access will be difficult for anyone who has problems with stairs. I was on crutches and managed quite well, but if mobility is an issue the front door could be a problem. I did not ask if there is another entrance for future reference. Delightful knowledgeable and attentive staffs made us all feel comfortable from changing the angle of the air conditioning’s dampers to the wonderful selection of teas. I will return and think it would be great for a group of friends to relax after a great morning in Denver after the museums!
