A word from Denver Chophouse
You'll find the comfortable, warm-wooded restaurant filled with a crowd as diverse as the menu there for a special occasion or a casual gathering. The nostalgic feel, including the sounds of Big Band 30's and 40's coupled with a current menu with generous portions gives the Denver ChopHouse its approachable, yet upscale contemporary style. Handcrafted ales brewed on-site, small batch bourbons, and a fine array of single malt scotches all add to the ChopHouse tradition.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I have eaten here about a dozen times. However, the food was okay, but not special. We had reservations and although the restaurant was pretty empty, we were seated at a table near the front door. The crab cakes were bland. I ordered a side of sauteed spinach and it was very salty and too much garlic was used. Also, the pan corn bread was tasty, but the batter had been over stirred and it was tough and chewy. My husband had a steak and it was okay, but not great. The best part of either of our meals were the mashed potatoes. Such a beautiful setting deserves more care regarding the food preparation."

  • "Food was very good. The atmosphere was great for a business dinner or a casual meal before the game. Would definitely recommend!"

  • "Chophouse is always a great "go-to" for friendly gatherings and for business schmooze-fests. Service is impeccable and the food is a serious treat. Plus as a fairly simple pallet person even the sides are great, an area a lot of finer establishments over do and often ruin the plate for me. Will continue to frequent the Chophouse Brewery."

  • "We had a reservation and we were a few minutes late. I would have understood if they had had to release the reservation. But, the hostess made a curt remark about. Our waiter was nowhere to be found when we needed something but when he did check on us he was far too friendly and familiar with us. He started talking about himself and my girlfriend was too polite to stop listening to him. Even though she was listening he should have had the propriety to maintain a professional demeanor, I almost sarcastically told him to pull up a chair. This was supposed to be my girlfriend's romantic birthday dinner at a high class resturant. It was ruined by a level of service I would expect at Denny's."

  • "We've taken the opportunity to have a very nice sit down lunch before going to the game and paying lots for hand-held food. I love the railroad ambiance."

  • "We've made it a tradition to hit up the Denver Chop House on Rockies Opening day for many years. This place is hoping on Opening Day which all part of the fun, pre-game festivities. Unfortunately, this year was a disappointing experience. We had great service by Sean, but the food was mediocre at best. There were 6 of us at the table and not one person said their meal was awesome. We had made a few different bar/drink requests that fell short between what was ordered and what was brought out. It's a little disappointing when you spend $17 on a sandwich and it's not awesome."

  • "Very unhappy with the location of 8-top seating. A lifeless, dull, corner location with a blank wall all the guests could stare at. Not at all a part of the vibrant restaurant. Won't be recommending it to anyone or doing it again....... As I set this event up, I was very embarrased everyone had to sit in this pathetic part of the restaurant.."

  • "The New York strip was excellent and cooked to perfection."

  • "On Saturday morning there were plenty of seats in the dining room, and we got great attention from our server. Everybody enjoyed their meals. It was good because it was unspectacular and uneventful. Nothing earthshakingly good to rave about, though my french toast was delicous. Nothing bad to complain about. No problems. No wait. I'd certainly go back."

  • "Didn't realize it was opening day when I booked the reservation. Arrived 2 minutes early but the table was ready for 7 which was my original number, but only ended with 5. Hostess noted this and quickly removed the extra chairs and setting. Within seconds the server arrived to introduce himself and to ask about drinks. I had 2 guests on their first visit. Server was very knowledgable and gave sound recommendations on both beer and wine, even offering up a taster of one of the beers as an option for my guest. The lobster asparagus mac from the starter menu was a hit. The rest of the food arrived and was gobbled down. A testament to how the kitchen is amazing. Didn't have room for dessert, but left the restaurant satiated."

  • "The cheese plate was delicious! The drinks were right on! My steak was cooked perfectly!"

  • "Ok food but terribly expensive. Waiter was painfully slow and seemed more interested in telling us about himself than giving the service commensurate with the price we paid."

  • "Aalthough not the first time at the Chop House I was left with the desire to return. My husband suggested once a month. That would be yummy. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with wine selecting. Even provided a sample. I can't wait to have lunch or dinner there again and I will. Thank you for such a wonderful and romantic date night!"

  • "Another nice dinner at the Denver Chop House. My fiancee and I are never disappointed. Food is delicious and service is superb. We had an issue with our giftcards that was purchased at a different "rock bottom restaurants" restaurant that was closed, and the manager assured us her personal help with the issue if we couldn't resolve it ourselves."

  • "Both my wife and I had the prime rib and they were done to perfection. Especially enjoy the in-house brewed Woodford stout beer. The server was very attentive and made timely visits to the table without being intrusive to our conversation."

  • "The steaks were good. Some of the other dishes were ok. It was very very dark. Difficult to read the menu."

  • "Waiter had 4 tables, all seated at about the same time. Service was spotty and choppy. Bringing half the drink order at the time. Longwait for everything. Drinks were empty and empty for awhile before he would check back."

  • "Appetizers, drinks and service in the bar before dinner were stellar. Steak dinner with sides should have been better and our server forgot a couple of things. When I go to a "ChopHouse", I have pretty high expectations and those were not met. If you have $100 to drop before heading out to a game, this is your place."

  • "I had high expectations attending the denver chophouse and they were definitely exceeded. Bobby was an excellent server and extremely knowledgeable. He even admitted that he didn't prefer beer but was still able to offer recommendations and thoroughly explain the beers. His food runner was also very professional. Will definitely return again!"

  • "The service and food paired well with the environment. We had the calamari and lobster & asparagus mac and cheese - which did not disappoint. For entrees, we had the market fish - which was a crab stuff halibut that was delicious, seafood cobb salad and the cheeseburger. All great options. They brew their own beer which were very tasty. Our server was very accommodating and informative. I will definitely go back!"

  • "The prime rib was very tasty, though it had a bit more gristle than I would have liked. The staff was fantastic. Meal was well-timed, wine advice was sound, and our waiter was very personable."

  • "I had the surf, crab cakes the way they make them in Maryland - no fillers just delicious crab! My husband had the prime rib cooked rare - just how he likes it! Service was very professional. Server seemed to know when to be there. The dessert was a chocolate cake with ice cream, stout chocolate syrup, whipped cream and who knows what else. It was very good and more then enough for the two of us."

  • "Friends and family were in town from Florida. We had an amazing experience. The service was quick and efficient. One of our steaks were a little dry, the server quickly got a new one, and comped it off the bill which was not necessary but super nice! Was not our first time there and certainly will not be our last!"

  • "Great food, great service. There isn't much else to say about it. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat."

  • "We had a party of five and were first put into a small booth which was too small for our party. The busboy immediately noticed that we would not fit at that table and put together another table in the same section. Service was rather slow at 5:15 in the evening. The food tasted good. I had the fresh fish special for the night but feel it was not worth the $32 price tag attached to it. The fish was a little on the over cooked side and was a little tough, but did taste good. We have had better fish meals at Morton's and other places in the same neighborhood as the Chophouse."

  • "The steak was great but the seafood was not very good. Service was outstanding."

  • "The food and the service were excellent. No complaints. My only issue was the noise level. It was a Saturday night and very busy. There was a table to our left and a table behind us that were both so loud we could hear every word of their conversations. And I felt like the paper over the table cloth deducted from the "classiness" of the place. I will return but when I do, I will ask for one of the quieter booths in the back maybe where I can enjoy great food without losing my hearing."

  • "While everything was satisfactory, I wouldn't consider this fine dining with butcher paper table cloth. Server forgot several items, but promptly returned after being reminded. Out of three orders of beef tips, mine was the only one with gristle. Order of halibut was okay, but portion was not more than 3 -4 oz.. Pork chop was nothing to brag about. Sides of asparagus and spinach weren't anything out of the ordinary. Key lime pie and mousse were very good!"

  • "We've been to The Denver Chophouse before for a Rockies game. It's a great location for the games with excellent food that would be great for a special occasion also. It's dressy or game casual. Chophouse ambiance. Great drinks, wines, beers, steaks, salads, burgers, & seafood."

  • "The building, the friendly staff, the ambience, the food... everything was great! So glad our group of 6 chose this place for dinner while in town on business. Will definitely return and recommend to others."

  • "The Denver Chophouse is always a good eat and I think there is something for everyone here. Good wine and beer selections. Steak for the meat lover and plenty of healthy and lighter options too. I had the Chop Chop Salad and it was awesome. My colleagues had the salmon and it looks fantastic too."

  • "We moved here just a few months ago and finally ventured down town. What a great experience and loved the ambiance and menu. We were running a little late for our reservation due to parking so the only negative feedback I have at this restaurant was the Hostess. It was nt a very warm or welcoming experience and I don't even think she said more than one word to us. What I ahve learned is the first person, greeter, hostess is the first impression. Good thing the rest of the team was able to put that experience behind us."
