A word from Denver Chophouse
You'll find the comfortable, warm-wooded restaurant filled with a crowd as diverse as the menu there for a special occasion or a casual gathering. The nostalgic feel, including the sounds of Big Band 30's and 40's coupled with a current menu with generous portions gives the Denver ChopHouse its approachable, yet upscale contemporary style. Handcrafted ales brewed on-site, small batch bourbons, and a fine array of single malt scotches all add to the ChopHouse tradition.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The Chop House used to be the place to go. Well....that's changed. The food is mediocre at best. Cornbread was way too dark and tasteless. Seafood Cobb Salad was bland and made with the smallest shrimp know to man. The Grilled Shrimp Louie was slightly better than the cobb. Steak was presented very nicely with a béarnaise sauce but you can get that steak anywhere. Service was attentive and pleasant. Desserts are clearly from Sysco and cut to serve. Save your money and go elsewhere."

  • "We got the onion rings, crab cake, pub burger, and 24 oz porterhouse (cooked to perfection and perfectly priced.) We ordered their beers, very good! Everything was delicious. We did not have room for the sundae..maybe next time ;) I recommend this restaurant to all."

  • "we had a very nice dinner with good service. we could choose out of a great list of wines, waiter had a lot of wine knowledge!"

  • "My fiancé and I have been to the chop house numerous time with excellent experiences, this was not one of them. Not greeted by our server for quite some time. Offered water by a separate server assistant, but this person was clearly not our server. Drinks took a long time, despite being able to see our server deliver drinks to tables seated after ours. Server didn't write any of our orders down (I understand not always necessary) then messed up an order. He stated he would cut our split steak table side (something we never would have expected), then never followed through. I would have ordered wine with dinner, but be checked on us too late. There are not enough characters allowed for this review to fully detail our experience."

  • "The hamburgers were extremely salty. The food was just blah, and incredibly expensive. 8 of us went before the Rockies game. Location fantastic....food and cost NOT fantastic."

  • "Denver Chophouse skirts that line between snooty steakhouse (any day) and very high-end sports bar (game days). The front-of-house could use some etiquette lessons, but the waitstaff are always personable. I asked about rosés, and our server tried to sell me a white zin, but I won't fault him for that; most people think it's the same. Other than that, the food is consistently well prepared."

  • "very disappointed with the change to the spinach/artichoke dip-hardly any cheese & bread choice was bad, also calamari was rubbery & less amount. Other than that the tenderloin tip was as good as usual."

  • "Loved my steak, had great service. The steak was cooked perfectly, the French onion was one of the best I've had"

  • "The prime rib sliders in the bar menu are great. Order with a side of Sweet potato fries, and a ice cold martini and you are set."

  • "I took a group with diverse tastes to dinner and everyone found dishes that suited their tastes. Each element of the meal was excellent. I highly recommend the bone in ribeye. We had a sampling of various appetizers and desserts and all very very good. Our table was ready for us upon arrival and although they were very full, we were seated promptly and greeted quickly by our server."

  • "We hosted a party of nine recently. The food and service was great. But the parking was a real problem. The attendant charged $25 for each of our two cars because the Rockies were playing nearby. $50 on top of an expensive meal is over the top in Denver in my estimation. To the credit of the management, the got it reduced to $15 each after I complained. I recommend eating elsewhere when there is a game in town."

  • "We selected this Restaurant from on line as we arrived in Denver the same day. Maria called me back from an open table reservation that reflected 2 times, I let her know that we had people still flying in and picked the later time. I called her back 30 minutes later to tell her that our last Manager would make it and needed to push the time till 8:15pm. We loved the Restaurant on a Tuesday night it was very busy. The atmosphere was lively and fun and the food was awesome. The salads were fresh and full of vegetables with a great house dressing the cornbread with green chiles was really good. Most of us had steak, I had the fresh Salmon and it was cooked perfectly."

  • "I thought this was a really nice place.. We was in Denver vacationing and wanted to try a good steak house. I had the Lobster tail & my husband had a PorterHouse Steak which he said in his opinion was better than Ruth Chris! I must also say service was great.. We would definantly come back again!"

  • "The in house brewed beers were fantastic and the food was equally good. From the reservation process, checking in, and ordering, the service was flawless. The servers were very knowledgeable, they know the menu and they did a good job of guiding us to the menu items we would likely enjoy. The follow ups by the wait staff were well timed (no one was asked about the quality of the food or drinks while they were eating or drinking) and the servers were very attentive and very responsive. The servers recognized that we were going to the game and were very helpful by keeping us informed about the amount of time before the game was going to start."

  • "Had to send the New York Strip back to be cooked more since it was completely raw for most of the middle. When it was brought back it was cooked more but still raw. We gave up. Rest of the meals were satisfactory."

  • "Disappointed. Server recommended wine only to come back and tell us they where out. 2nd recommendation, same thing. We had to settle for a 3rd choice which I had not heard of and was just OK. Uncomfortable situation sitting with clients. I asked if I could upgrade to a slightly better bottle ($55-70) for the same price I was told no. I asked to see a manager, I was told she was busy. Server was Nicole"

  • "The food was great but the amounts provided should be reflected in the price charged. I have had some great food in lower downtown for a much lower price. Service was great and very responsive. My hats off to the service staff!!! Would I return...yes!"

  • "We went before seeing a game at Coor's Field and got excellent food and service. I got the tenderloin tips and mushrooms with grilled apples and carrots along with a Caesar and enjoyed all of it. The Caesar was nice but nothing really to write home about. The tenderloin tips were cooked to a rarish medium rare (I asked for medium rare so no issues for me) and thought they were extremely flavorful, along with the rest of the dish. The others in my company were pleased with the beers they ordered from light to dark, and as an u21 my lemonade was extremely sour. For some that might be issue (including those at my table so order with caution), but I personally loved it."

  • "Our server was incredible! She was always there as soon as we needed something and we never had to look for her. She had great food, beer, and wine knowledge. Her recommendations were very helpful. The food was also good. The Gorgonzola preparation was one of the best I've ever tried. Proportion sizes were surprisingly large for a nice steak house. I ordered asparagus for my side expecting the typical four or five stems, but I got at least twice that."

  • "Been to the Chop house a number of times, but I think I'm done with this place.. The inconsistency of how they prepare steaks is beyond unexceptable. This is the second time they have screwed up more than one steak at our table. The waitress, although very nice, seemed new and tried to ignore the obvious piece of leather until we finally spoke up.. Legendary cornbread was also over cooked and hard. Too many other steak houses in town to take a chance here again.. Manager didn't even bother to visit the table and offer an apology or circle at anytime during our dinner to make sure everything was acceptable... Nor did she even ask as we exited the restaurant! I've had great meals in the past here, but recently seems to be going down hill."

  • "Came here to celebrate two birthdays and we were not disappointed. Steak is always good. Couldn't help but notice that what used to be included is not anymore (salad, marinade). I'm sure that sides are next. We'll still return for special occasions."

  • "I've eaten at the Denver Chophouse more times than I can count, and this is the first time that it was not outstanding. We had a 1pm reservation, so the restaurant was not crowded. We waited 30 minutes for our meals. Of the four of us, two reported great food (salmon and chop chop salad). The other two were underwhelmed. An overcooked burger that didn't even cover the bun was very disappointing as was the lobster club (could barely find the lobster). Our waitress didn't seem very interested in us. Drink refills happened just minutes before we finished eating."

  • "I had not been to the Chop House for a while and wanted a special place for a birthday celebration. It was as good as I remember and better. The food was good and the service excellent. "

  • "The place was only semi-full, but the service was a tad slow, although very friendly and courteous. I had the pork chop, which was a bit tough and chewy. The prime rib was outstanding, but the baked potato was cold and hard. "

  • "We were at the Denver Chophouse to celebrate a birthday. The filet mignon was undercooked and had to be sent back. When it returned, the steak was like charcoal on the outside and still undercooked. . This is a steak house - you would think they could cook a steak properly. The prime rib was average and low quality. The cheeseburger was a preformed compressed meat patty that did not resemble ground beef at all. The fries were cold and tasteless. Overall, the food was so unfitting for a Chophouse restaurant. No birthday dessert was offered - never had this happen at a restaurant before. The Chophouse brand should be embarrassed to put its name on this restaurant. We will not return to this restaurant or any Chophouse."

  • "I've always had wonderful wait staff and the filet mignon never disappoints. I tried the seafood special once and had to send it back. They had a replacement filet mignon in front of me within a few minutes without issue. Great desserts and a good selection of after dinner drinks."

  • "Selection was from the bar menu. I have selected the ahi tuna burger before, but this time is was overly spicy and "hot" which overpowered the flavor of the tuna."

  • "We often go to the Denver Chophouse before a Rockies baseball game. We like the menu and the food is always great tasting. On our most recent visit, we found the wait staff especially attentive. Because they assessed the wait time for our food would be longer than normal, they brought a complimentary skillet of cornbread. We really appreciated that consideration. The restaurant does have a bar atmosphere, so I reflected that on my Ambience rating. We think this is a great restaurant overall, though, and an excellent choice for a meal in advance of a Rockies game."
