Demera Ethiopian RestaurantA special treat.I have gone there at least 5 times and they never fail to please.
The individual portions did seem a little small, but when we were finished, we were stuffed!
I'm never crazy about "bone in" selections, but the chicken drumsticks were so sweet and tender, the meat just about fell off!
The only thing I do not like is driving all the way to Chicago just to get anything Ethiopian, but it's worth it as a special treat.

The wait staff is tremendously helpful for people new to Ethiopian food and they check back often (but not too often to be annoying). We have tried other Ethiopian restaurants closer to our home in the far north suburbs, but the food just doesn't come close to the quality of Demera. We have been to Demera 3 times, and we typically have the messob platter with a chef's selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. It is always delicious, yet we always get something new and different that we didn't have on a previous visit. The tiramisu is incredible and worth saving room for. The flavors are very well developed and everything was delicious. They offer a ton of vegetarian and meat options to satisfy everyone. The spiciness is very well controlled for those who don't like things too intense. The honey wine was great, and you can tell it was home made.
