"This is one of the best places to eat in Sacramento along the river front. The food is good Americana: steaks, salads, pork chops, and a great flourless chocolate cake. My only grumbling is the service. I called to ask for directions and was on hold indefinitely (after eight minutes I hung up). No one was at the front door when we arrived. We easily waited 10-15 minutes to place orders, again for our dessert orders to be taken, and then for our bill to be picked up. However, when we caught their attention, the service was great - the receptionist gave us a great table and our waiter was helpful deciding between items on the menu. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy when we were there but still, the overall service felt spread thin."

"Went for brunch. Three of us ordered the eggs florentine: poached egg on steamed spinach on "english" muffin with "hollandaise" sauce. The egg was perfect. The rest: dull and uninspired to say the least. The muffin was bland and not toasted so there was no crunch to balance out the soft, wonderful topping. Only the spinach was lackluster and the sauce was not a sauce but a think, watery yellowish spoonful with no taste or satisfying fullness of flavor. The four of us sat upstairs in a comfortable banquet; it was quiet and a good place to talk as I hadn't seen my brother in seven years. So, thought this is definitely not a place for foodies, it's fine for casual occasions with plenty of choices for times for reservations."

"The food and ambiance were wonderful. The crab cake appetizer was fantastic, the salmon was excellent, and the cheese cake delicious. We enjoyed the ambiance - being on the river - and will definitely return as the opportunity arises. We also recommend a pre-dinner drink at the bar. Again, the ambiance is old world river boat and great fun. The less than 5-star overall rating was related to our waiter who was less than attentive. The manager (Bob) stepped in and was superb in making recommendations about food and actually serving all of the courses. Should any visitor encounter the same problem, simply ask for the manager. You will be taken great care of. Don't be detered from this dining treat because of this easily corrected glitch."
