Diner Reviews
  • "Delphine provided exactly what I wanted for a date night in the city. Situated across from the Pantages, this restaurant is the perfect balance of convenience coupled with excellent food. When I mentioned it was our 31st wedding anniversary, the hostess seated us outside in a quieter, more intimate area. Our waitress, Katie, was a consummate professional, suggesting and describing dishes without bias as we made our decisions. She bought our desserts, charming us even more with her delightful and witty personality. The house gave us a small complimentary bottle of champagne to help us celebrate. My husband enjoyed his scallops, and I was extremely glad I chose the short ribs. Every bite made us both say 'Mmmmm...'"

  • "We met friends for dinner here before going to the Pantages right across the street. Perfect location for theater goers. Food was very good. Kale salad, Caesar salads, short ribs, loup de mer, and grilled swordfish were all excellent. Service was also top notch. We had the most darling, attentive waitress and the manager came by to make sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are going to the Pantages."

  • "Our party of four enjoyed our meals....one special order of salmon, no seasoning, no problem. The others included steak and prawns, swordfish, and halibut. All very delicious. Rebecca was our server....just a charming young lady, good sense of humor, great service! The ceasar salad was very good. Delicious desserts. Great find before the theatre. Reservations at 4:45, perfect timing on a Sunday night for show starting at 6:30 directly across the street at the Pantages."

  • "we had a nice pre theatre dinner. service was prompt but busser and food runner rushed service. A busser at this level of restaurant should never say "still working?" main course arrived before finished with starter. we were not in a hurry."

  • "Start your Pantages Theater experience with dinner at Delphine. Valet park for $8.00 ( don't for get to get the sticker from your server) and have a fabulous meal and then stroll across the street to the show. Great food, atmosphere, service and more."

  • "From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left everything was excellent. Service was excellent and the food was incredible!"

  • "I found this because of an ad for discounted valet parking; I was going to the Pantages for a play. The food was on the expensive side and very good, although average for an upscale restaurant. But the energetic and friendly wait staff, who clearly love theater themselves, really made the evening."

  • "The service was excellent. Our waiter was one of the best! I ordered salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Scallops and said they were delicious. Our ceasar salads were really good. Dessert was just ok. I would go to this restaurent again before going to the Pantages theatre."

  • "An excellent choice for dining before an evening at the Pantages. Food and Service are great. We try to dine there almost every time we go to the Pantages especially if we are entertaining friends."

  • "Booked this restaurant so we could eat a nice meal prior to pedicures at Bliss next door. We were just a tad disappointed. The "special Skuna" salmon for $21 was the TINIEST piece I've ever seen on a bed of couscous; it was embarrassingly minuscule! Delicious cheeseburger, however I specifically requested the french fries cooked "well-done, crispy, and piping hot" (always order them like that.) They were well-done, but NOT HOT, perhaps just still a bit warm. In my opinion, it's the waitress's job to pick the plate up from the chef and serve it within 1 or 2 minutes to accommodate my request, especially since place was not busy. So it's partially the waitress's fault for not communicating with the kitchen. I guess I expected more from W."

  • "This was the worst service I've received in a dining establishment in some time. Perhaps it's because they add an automatic 15% gratuity. The server was extremely slow, inattentive and couldn't seem to care less. Excellent food, horrible service."

  • "Yes, it was pricey. But the food and drink were all exceptional! Great service too. Quite a few special drinks, entrees and desserts that were all great."

  • "A great, convenient place for dining before or having a drink or 2 after going to the Pantages. The wait staff is attentive & most congenial. The "Seared Live Maine Scallops" are AWESOME, the best scallops I've ever tasted. I highly recommend Delphine's"

  • "This is one of the best places to go to before a show at the Pantages since it's directly across the street. The food & service are always outstanding. The Kale Salad is a must."

  • "we ate dinner before a concert at the Pantages. We had informed our server we were heading to the show as we ordered. Our appitizers came out of the kitchen in good time. However we waited a very long time for our entrees and refills on soft drinks. We were never offered any bread or asked if we wanted a second glass of wine. One entree listed that it was served with roasted root vegetables, it was served with two slices of cooked carrot and two slices of barely cooked celery. The brussel sprouts side order were great. The rest of the food was all very tasty but we had to eat fast to get to the show."

  • "We like Delphine for the location....right across the street from the Pantages Theatre. We can have an early or late dinner, in a lovely restaurant with an interesting menu and wonderful service staff. ......what's not to like?"

  • "Excellent place for dinner BUT very irresponsible for this establishment not to advertise that they cook with peanut oil. Especially since the peanut allergy is Life Threatening. People could die!"

  • "Dinner at the Delphine was delightful. the highlight was in the service provided by Beth F. She was capable, suitably attentive and friendly. The Loup de Mer was nicely prepared, the oysters of good size, and the dessert decadently delicious. As a before-the-performance dining choice Delphine"s is unrivaled."

  • "We arrived without any hostess in front to greet us, I had to walk across the restaurant to find one. Some of the appetizers were good, the oysters did not taste very fresh, our stomachs were a little on the sour side after. I got a bone-in filet for an entree that came dry as if it were all bone, a sauce that was clearly microwaved, and old mashed potatoes. The perfect description would be overpriced room service in a bad hotel. The manager offered to comp our 2 glasses of wine and dessert which we declined, but he brought it anyway. We left, again no hostess to validate our parking so I just took it and stamped my ticket myself. Also, the waitress knew nothing about oysters & neglected us and our complaints."

  • "Delphine used to be my favorite place to dine before a show at the Pantages. Needless to say I've been there a lot over the last few years and tried almost everything on their menu. The quality of food on my last 2 visits has gone down considerably. This most recent visit we actually had to send food back because it was inedible. Charred brussels sprouts were solid black lacking any flavor beyond burned and swimming in oil, NY strip steak was incredibly tough and poorly seasoned, even the pommes frites are no longer the thin french style but regular American fries on par with a fast food chain. The wine list has gone downhill as well with fewer French wine choices by the bottle and they no longer serve Sancerre by the glass."

  • "We went there for lunch prior to the show at the Pantages. Our server was very attentive at first, but he obviously neglected to put in our order. After everyone around us had been served, we asked what happened to the soup we ordered. He said it should be coming right up, but it took another 10 minutes and it was cold! Then our main courses came, the soup was sent back and returned to us barely warmed. We had to eat quickly and it was an altogether unpleasant experience. We were not charged for the soup, but at that point it didn't matter, it was an unfortunate start to what should have been a lovely day."

  • "I love taking my daughter (12 Yrs) to the Pantages Theatre. Delphine's has become the restaurant we always go to before the show. Delphine's is helping me make mother/daughter times special. Always great food and service. We don't even think of going anywhere else!"

  • "Good and convenient for pre or post Pantages theater. Park at the W Hotel, have dinner and go to the theater for $8 parking fee- be sure to ask for the special validation when you pay your check. Food was good- we had Caesar salad, ahi poke, short ribs, and brussel sprouts. All of it was tasty. Very hip bar scene, great for people watching even if you aren't partaking."

  • "This is our dining selection before theatre across the street at the Pantages as they validate for parking which tends to be slightly less than the theatre parking lots. The restaurant has changed its menu again, sadly not for the better. I ordered their new lemon chicken which was so sweet, it was almost inedible - I'd expected a more sour than overly sweet sauce, and two lettuce leaves over the chicken is not my idea of a vegetable. Caesar salad cones with bacon - I had one small piece, and though the Caesar is excellent I particularly like the addition of bacon. Flat bread of the day was rather bland. Wine list is nice, a bit pricey. Service was good, as usually."

  • "My husband, daughter and I ate here before a matinee at the Pantages and we all agree we'd come back again. Our waitress was terrific and the food was excellent. My husband had a lunch item and my daughter and I each had a breakfast item and we were all extremely happy. The only downside was that they don't have a children's menu but luckily at 9, my daughter is old enough to be able to eat (almost) all of her meal. Delphine is so convenient to the Pantages and the menu varied enough to please most people. We'll definitely be back."

  • "From the moment we entered the restaurant we were treated like VIPs. As we were walking in, the manager seated us immediately. The table was very comfortable to sit at, which was a good start. Our waitress, Beth, was not only knowledgeable about the menu items, but food and cooking as well. This made our choices from the menu easier. We ordered muscles as a starter and they were the best I have ever had!! Though when my steak came, it was a bit tough, three people made me feel comfortable with changing my order to the delectable lamb! After dinner we were all stuffed, but they brought us two dessers, on the house, to make up for me not liking my original meal. We will absolutely be back!!"

  • "The Delphine is situated across the street from the Pantages Theater, so it makes a great place to have dinner before a show! The staff is uniformly awesome, the food is really wonderful too! The seating is often unusual and dependent on the overall load of customers, so you might find yourself in a weird place... ask for another table as needed!"

  • "My husband and I came for breakfast on his birthday and we were both very happy with our meals. French toast was probably the best I've ever had. The waitress surprised my husband with a pancake and a candle for his bday. It was a pleasant surprised that definitely made my husband feel special during breakfast. Highly recommend it, worth the price!"

  • "Dined here prior to seeing Joseph...across the street. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, 6 & 8. Dined Al Fresco on their patio. Lovely and quieter and not so cold as the inside was highly air conditioned. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Food was excellent'"

  • "I chose Delphine because I was coming up from San Diego on the train to meet a friend, and it sits right above a station on the red line. I'd been here at night before, but it has a totally different feel during the day. It was quiet and a nice relaxing atmosphere to catch up with an old friend. It's a nice menu and the food was good. The service was attentive and super friendly. "

  • "We have dinner here before going across the steet for the theater (Pantages) - love love the Halibut dish!! Had super service! I also noted/requested for a booth or along the wall seating when making my "Open Table" reservation and we did get a booth. Can't wait to retun next month."

  • "When I arrived at Delphine, I had to wait in the valet area for a bit of time as there were no valets to park my car. After a valet finally showed up, the hostess said they didn't have a table for me despite the fact I had a reservation. I was asked if I would like to sit outside on a day when we had 30 mile an hour wind outside. I declined that option. I asked if there was a bar and when the hostess said there was I decided to go to the bar for lunch. As I passed through the restaurant I noticed open tables which could have been possibly been offered to me. After all that, the food was not good AND Delphine did not credit my Open Table account for the visit. My conclusion: This place is not hospitable towards single diners."

  • "My boyfriend and I went here because I had planned a surprise weekend for him. I purchased tickets for Book of Mormon and saw this restaurant advertised on the ticket when I printed it out. We had an excellent experience! We were running about 15 minutes behind due to traffic but when we arrived they eagerly sat us and there was no fuss. Our server, Brittany was excellent. She was very attentive as well as the bus boys. My boyfriend had the New York Steak and I had the Halibut. The steak was delicious as was the halibut. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the potatoes under the halibut, but that could be a personal preference. Towards the end of our dinner they dimmed the lights which was nice but possibly maybe a little too dark. "
