The Delminco ribeye is dry aged and was absolutely the best steak I've had in NYC. It's a high-end experience with high-end everything but the price is a bit lower than a lot of the ridiculous places like Lugers. The steak and sides and service and surroundings and even the story of the place are amazing. We were early for our reservation time and they seated us as soon as we got there. The wait staff was wonderful and friendly. They picked out an excellent wine for us and were very informative about the wine. I thought the decor was lovely and old school and very comfortable and not stuffy or sterile. The entries were delicious, I had the veal and the wife chose the Halibut. Our waiter was very attentive and polite and the ambiance fit for a nice, quiet romantic dinner. One slight complaint that we had was the portions were small so be prepared to add an extra side or order an appetizer if you're really hungry. The photos don't do Delmonico's justice, it's a beautiful restaurant that makes you feel as if you're eating in a Gatsby scene. The waiter was terrific. My girlfriend and I ate there on the occasion of our engagement and the house made us feel welcome and served a complimentary baked Alaska.

The ambience & impeccable service add to a great meal with all entrées exquisitely prepared. This makes for a memorable evening in "old" New York style. Relaxing pace and you can conduct a normal conversation at the table which is something of a novelty these days in most noisy restaurants which I could never understand.
