Diner Reviews
  • "Overall the food was just OK. My swordfish was tough on the outside and cold in the middle. Expected much more for the price. Servers were very nice but the restuarant was less than 20% occuppied and the kitchen was running at a snails pace.."

  • "We enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent. Everything was delish! However my steak wasn't warm enough and got cold quick but it was still good. If it wasn't for the lukewarm steak definitely would've giving them 4*"

  • "Many NYC restaurants seem to treat Restaurant Week patrons with distain. Delmonico's Kitchen treated us with great respect and excellent service. The menu choices were outstanding. I will happily book another lunch or dinner there."

  • "there are very few choices of good restaurants in the garment district. Delmonico's Kitchen is my go to place. I know I will always have a great meal with fine attentive service."

  • "We came to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The service and food were wonderful. She is still thanking me for the wonderful time and great food. We both had the Delmonico steak which was out of this world. We also had the grilled asparagus which was excellent. When you take a friend out for a special ocassion, this is the impact you can only hope to achieve. Thank you Delmonico's Kitchen for living up to and exceeding our expectations."

  • "It was too loud. The service was really good. The first course and second course were excellent. The chocolate cake however just looked like a muffin with chocolate syrup next to it."

  • "We had a 7pm reservation through Open Table. We arrived 15 minutes early and went to the bar. We didn't get to sit down until 7:45pm—the hostesses seemed confused, overwhelmed, and appeared to be seating whoever came up to them to complain. The server was good at first, the food came out quickly and was hot. The steak was full of grizzle and very difficult to cut. At the end of our meal, the server disappeared and we waited 20 minutes to get the check. Furthermore, I had 2 glasses of pinot noir which gave me a headache while I was still at the restaurant, which got very bad the next morning (and I'm not one to have issues with wine). Overall, not a good experience. If it wasn't for the company I had at dinner, it would have been a disaster."

  • "The service was very good, which is always a reason to consider going back. Food was good, not great as the Delmonico steak was pretty small as compared to getting the marquis steaks at other steakhouses. We sat in the back room and it was simply one of the loudest experiences for a fine dining restaurant.....energy, enthusiastic and the NY style I get and expect, but the acoustics are just very bad and it was over the top loud, tough to enjoy or communicate without yelling across the table."

  • "The food at Delmonico's was delicious. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The appetizers and desserts were good as well. Portions were perfect. The wait staff was overly friendly - in a good way. There was always someone checking to see if you needed something. However, they weren't as polished as the should be for an upscale restaurant. For example, when placing the soup on the table, it sloshed around the edges of the bowl ruining the presentation, and they forgot the spoons. The service wasn't bad, it just wasn't phenomenal. Granted, it was during restaurant week so they might have been busier than normal and everyone has a bad day now and again. Everything else was good enough to warrant giving the wait staff another shot."

  • "we were convinced by our waiter to order the "bone in filet for 2" that was on special that evening. Well this was for 4 men, not 2 petite woman. I've entertained my clients before, and shared a steak, but never one like this, we were so very misled by our waiter, this came out on a huge platter with the bone that measured more than 13". Ok so when your entertaining a client I would never ask "how much is that special tonight"? To my surprise and very much disappointment it was $150.00 for a steak for 2. OMG my client was so appalled that the waiter would not tell us in the introduction of the specials the ounce's and the price of that item. Management didn't seem to care either. Lesson learned!"

  • "We went there on a Tuesday. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. All the steaks were great and the timing was excellent. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday and it was deafening. I think mainly because it is a smaller restaurant, but it wasn't too bad. I would definitely recommend. They handled a group of 10 of us without issue."

  • "We went early, service was fast which was good to catch the train. Server gave special attention which is always nice. Food was B+ for the special menu."

  • "I was full to bursting after the delicious Restaurant Week menu. It was definitely more than enough. They even offered many of their signature dishes for a supplemental price, but still a very good deal for three courses. I was glad we came here. The filet mignon was so tasty!"

  • "We went to Delmonico's Kitchen during restaurant week. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. I have an allergy and the COO Denis Morovic personally took care of making sure the food was cooked safely me. The steak was outstanding and done to perfection. It is almost impossible to find not only this quality of food, but this level of service. We highly recommend this restaurant and if it is on restaurant week again, run don't walk!!!!"

  • "We went last Friday, restaurant week menu has a very good selection; we tried the risotto, the cold soup, of course the filet mignon, the cheesecake and chocolate cake and everything was !superb! We can't decide what was best. The portions were right, service prompt and courteous with a relax and calm ambience. We will definitely come back!"

  • "Restaurant Week Lunch starting with watermelon soup with crab meat could have been more flavorful with a bit more seasoning. Iceberg lettuce wedge was fine. We both had the Salmon which was suberb. Cheesecake & Warm Chocolate cake were both very good. The down side was the noise level-it was almost impossible to hold a conversation. I was hoarse from raising my voice to be heard."

  • "This restaurant is said to be iconic. The food was ok, not cooked as well as I thought it should be. Went there for restaurant week and we were served all 3 courses in 40 minutes. It felt rushed, did not like the experience. I would have been really upset if I had to pay regular prices."

  • "I am not a big stake person so I can't really say much about how it's comparing to other places except it's very tender. But the service is very good and I love the baked Alaska dessert!"

  • "I recommend the desserts..delightful the halibut as an entree, the tuna tartare...exquisite"

  • "The menu they have for restaurant week is superb, great value for money. I had the filet and it was cooked and seasoned beautifully. Also the cheesecake was amazing! Will definitely be back."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "The Restaurant Week Summer 2014 menu was decent. We had the fillet mignon which in my opinion was undercooked on the inside however burnt on the outside. The portions were pretty small and even after an appetizer, entrée and dessert we still went somewhere else for a pretzel! I probably wouldn't return during Restaurant Week and I for sure would not return for full price."

  • "...ended in a "meh" experience. The major downfall for me was that they do not flame the baked alaska tableside. The waitstaff is competent, and that is it, well, actually, when stating I would wait to decide on the wine, they never came back to it until they came to clear the wine glasses. Perhaps the regular Delmonico's wll deliver the expectations."

  • "Service was good. Terrible foods! Had the worst onion rings in my life. Risotto was salty. Steak was tasteless. Baked Alaska was very sweet. Didn't enjoy it and not recommended"

  • "As usual, the food was superb, the service a bit less than superb, but more than adequate. Enjoyed a great bottle of wine and a delicious porterhouse. Watched WC soccer at the bar before dinner and had the privilege of being served by beautiful Sherri the bartender. Not only gorgeous, but she charged my phone as well!!!"

  • "from the timwe we walked into the restaurant our expectations were met. They held our reservation (we were running late) We told them we had a show to go to and they served us appropriately. The food was delicious and the service was immpecable. I would highly reccomend Derlmonicos Kitchen"

  • "The front door won't grab your attention -- but once you are inside, the service and steak will win you over. We picked Delmonico's Kitchen because it was close to where we needed to be this day and they were offering a Groupon. I am very glad we went. The scallop appetizer was delicious and all our steaks were cooked perfectly. The service was attentive and friendly. Give them a try!"
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "I came here with a groupon and would certainly not come back again with or without a deal. In fairness, I enjoyed the sea scallop appetizer and the Delmonico steak. For $19, we only received two seared scallops served on butternut squash puree. I enjoyed the sweet/savory combo but my dining partner found the sweetness to be off-putting. We also ordered a poorly executed salmon entree, crispy sweet onions (much too oily especially after topped with bleu cheese and bacon), the crab mac and cheese (the portion size and the amount of crab you get is not worth the $18 price tag), and the brussel sprouts looked old and were mushy. For dessert, the baked alaska was not memorable and the stale lukewarm coffee was just unforgivable."

  • "We took some guests from Spain for a typical American steakhouse dinner and were very happy with everything from this restaurant. Perfectly cooked steaks, great tuna tartar, and sides were throughly enjoyed. The service was attentive and very nice."

  • "Went there with my wife for a nice intimate dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was Excellent, lobster cocktail was AMAZING with the star actually being the cocktail sauce. The dinner itself was great as well. I got the special rib eye which was like butter! Service wsa great as well, they treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant even though it was a pretty packed evening. Highly Recommend Delmonico's Kitchen!"

  • "in the heart of the garment center- your basic steakhouse- good selection of options in menu, specials daily, attentive service oh and the steaks -- well thats a matter of personal preference, I and my wife find them to be of high quality"

  • "I went to Delmonico's Kitchen with a few friends and we had the Delmonico's Tower, Porterhouse, Creamed Spinach, and Skillet Hash. The Delmonico's tower was a tower of seafood with lobster, jumbo shrimp, crab, tuna tartar and oysters. It was pretty good and the crab meat was taken out of the shell already. The lobster was also already partially shelled and cut. The Porterhouse was ordered medium rare, it came out medium rare but the outsides were a bit too charred. The creamed spinach was good and the skillet hash was quite delicious. Overall the food was pretty good."

  • "I was able to get a table last minute. Food was good but convenience more the factor in going there."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "We each had the Delmonico Steak - the steaks were prepared to our requested doneness - medium rare. However, the service was not what I would have expected. Our server did not do a good job of explaining all the specials of the day. I heard more of the specials when he was relating them to the table next to us which was at the end of our meal. Also, the wine list was very outdated - I was at my 4th choice before they had one in stock. When I mentioned this the waiter did say they update the list every couple of weeks, but the restaurant should consider updating more often if they run out that fast of particular wines."
