Diner Reviews
  • "Nothing was bad bIt nothing great. Felt like mediocre overpriced midtown restaurant. But hard to find better in this neighborhood."

  • "The best baby kale salad ever. And the Jim Brady oysters were melt in your mouth. Delicious filet mignon, grilled to perfection. I was not a rib eye fan, but changed my mind after sampling my husband's dinner. WOW! Buttery and tender. Put my first experience eating rib eye to shame (while dining at Peter Luger's, btw). We would go back in a heartbeat and look forward to it."

  • "In the midst of the west side chaos, this place is an amazing eatery with a wait staff that could not be more accommodating. Excellent food cooked to perfection."

  • "Good wine list, great steak, attentive wait staff. A nice reliable place to get good food and a quiet atmosphere."

  • "I have been here a few times and it's a solid lunch spot. Just a lilttle loud during lunch to bring a client. The food was very good and they have moderately priced lunches. The specials are great just make sure to ask how much......they are not priced with the lunch menu......"

  • "Even for a New York Steak House it was way overpriced..$140.00 for the "special" rib steak for two..$18.00 for a small glass of "house" red. I think New Yorkers are becomming numb to the price gouging, but this restaurant takes it to a new level."

  • "It was ~3/4 full and not overly busy. Went for a business lunch and were seated promptly. Waited 10-15 minutes for a menu to arrive. the waiter seemed to disappear. food took a little longer than expected to come out given it wasn't really busy and its lunch time. Kicker was it took waiter 10 minutes to retrieve a diet coke refill and after taking my empty glass of club soda, there was no offer to refill which I would have liked. From out of town and chose this place for convenience and the good food but would not recommend for a business lunch."

  • "I picked this restaurant because its close to Penn Station. I was meeting someone for lunch near there and just couldn't find a decent place. So I stumbled upon Delmonico's Kitchen (who's name I recognized so I assumed it had to be just as good as the other location). Its a really great find in an area that could use more upscale-type dinning. The portions are HUGE, even for lunch! The waitstaff is very charming and attentive. The dining room can get noisy, but my friend and I didn't mind it much - it WAS the lunch rush after all! It has a decent size bar and waiting area so if you even want to get together with people for a drink, its also a good place. I reccomend it!"

  • "it was great, just my steak was overcooked, and the server said i would have to wait another 40 minutes for a medium steak.was just there for lunch. crazy!!!"

  • "Our reservation was for 7:00pm on a Thursday evening, however we were not seated until 8:00pm! The group that was sitting at the table we were supposed to have would not leave even though the restaurant staff had given them the check at least an hour before. To make up for the inconvenience, the manager offered to give us two complimentary bottles of wine. We accepted the offer and appreciated the service. Besides the wait time, the food was good, but came in small portions. At the end of the dinner, I was not full and satisfied."

  • "went for restaurant week and food was just okay. Had the scallops which wasn't too bad and filet minon was too salty and over done even though I asked for medium rare. It was so loud inside that we couldn't hear each other talking. and service wasn't bad but wasn't good either. could barely hear the waiter speak bc of the noise and particularly our waiter just wasn't on the friendly side at all. I wouldn't go back as there are better choices out there. Bc it was a prefix menu I don't feel that bad spending the money but I would have felt like I wasted money if I went on a regular day and gotten their normal menu."

  • "The meal was so rushed we did not get to enjoy the food. We ordered the restaurant week prix-fixe meal and was treated poorly. The waiter did not ask us if we wanted coffee just gave us dessert."

  • "The appetizer was magnificent, seared scallops with diced vegitables and mushrooms; the salmon was also excellent and the wine list was extensive. I did not pay the bill so I donot know the value. We lingered at the table a long time without being rushed; a very cordial waiter. I higly recommend Delmonico's Kitchen."

  • "Very loud. Cramped seating. Ok food nothing really exciting. Went for Rest Week so price was not an issue but regular menu prices would be too high for quality of food.Service friendly and professional."

  • "Suits yelling over buckets of lobster, hunks of meat and magnums of plumish wine. Restaurant Week Dinner was incredibly noisy with slow service. Short ribs were good; wild salmon had an unexpected taste. Not going back."

  • "Had been here when it first opened and was obviously happy enough to come back Unfortunately my return visit was only really good in terms of service. I went for restaurant week and perhaps that is why the food came almost as soon as it was ordered. It made me feel like I was in a very fast food joint in that the food came so quickly for each course The appetizer course was delicious however the entrée course was very dry which was short ribs in a steak restaurant I was very surprised. I was also surprised that the cheesecake dessert was very dry. In and out in under an hour . It was noisy I could hardly hear my dining companion and would never go back to this restaurant I assume the responsibility for not sending my food back ."

  • "Went to this new Delmonico's location before a concert at MSG and the place was busy and fairly loud at 6:30 pm on a Tues. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and we were seated right away. We both ordered the seared scallop appetizers and I had the Delmonico steak while my wife had the Filet. When the scallops came out it looked like they were 2 different dishes. My wife had properly seared scallops while I had white and pasty looking scallops and my dish had half of the vegetable garnish. Disappointed. The main course - my steak was cooked properly - medium rare- but it needed seasoning. My wife ordered her filet well and it came out medium. Also, I don't think they use prime aged beef but they charge like they do."

  • "Went for restaurant week. Of course, the steak was top-notch. Our appetizers weren't great. I had the risotto which was mediocre and they replaced the scallop dish with two (2) pieces of small shrimp. Cheesecake was bland and didn't feel like finishing it. Service was very slow, and not particularly polite. Pretty atmosphere."

  • "I went for dinner during restaurant week and the menu was fine. And I've eaten out for restaurant week before, and understand the smaller portions and limited menu. But we had a 545pm reservation, and the food came flying out of the kitchen. we could have eaten all 3 courses in 30 minutes had we let them keep bringing the food. The appetizers were ok. The scallops were ok, but the risotto was actually kind of dry. The short rib was ok as well, but the filet was very good. Tasted great and cooked perfectly medium rare. In the end, with a bottle of wine, we spent $150 and really could have had a better meal elsewhere for $80."

  • "We went here for restaurant week and the appetizer and steak were fabulous. The service was also very good. Two notes--the specialty drink "thyme line" was mostly ice (not much drink) and the baked Alaska was okay. We would come back--we would simply get a glass of wine or martini and a different dessert."

  • "I visited Delmonico as part of restaurant week 2014 and was very disappointed by the food, atmosphere, and soffucated by the service. I ordered the filet mignon medium and it came out well done all the way through and burned heavily on the outside. My husband ordered the same steak; at the very center of his steak it was medium, but the outter edges were well done and the outside was heavily burned as well. I think the steak could have been okay if the taste of the charred outside hadn't been so over-whelming. I was unable to finish my steak since the taste was so unappealing. The service by the waitor and wait staff was good, but it was on the verge of being suffocating, and the atmosphere was way too loud for a dinner date."

  • "I went during Restaurant Week for the dinner menu as it offered a good variety. I know it is a steakhouse, but as I am temporarily vegetarian, I chose the salmon which was delicious. Not too dry or too moist and the vegetables and sauce went perfectly together. My sister said the steak was cooked medium rare as requested and was delicious. It can get a little loud in here, so having a long, drawn out conversation may be difficult. Food was good, service was good. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about."

  • "Friend and I were looking to catch up, decided to try the Restaurant Week list and came across this one. It was convenient and great food. We had a 6:45 reservation and didn't get seated till after 7 but that's because it was very busy! Really nice night out, date night or so."

    Dined on 2/25/2014
  • "Went for Restaurant week and lets say the following: Risotto was way under-cooked and grainy. Salmon way over cooked (even the second one they brought) You would expect better from a place that is doing simple cuisine. Will not go again"
    Dined on 2/25/2014
  • "Went for a restaurant week and would not recommend the lobster bisque soup. Had the filet mignon and it is really delicious but the portion is way too small. The desert is okay - I think they are desserts that you usually buy at any supermarket... nothing fancy!"

  • "Short rib was amazing! Didn't even need a knife to cut it up! Also the vegetable risotto had beets in it which I never eat and I thought the app was just abs delicious! Very well liked this restaurants. Not too loud, perfect for conversating over lunch or dinner"
