dell'animaGreat start to our NYC trip!It was our 1st night in NYC and we arrived for a late dinner (8:30 reservation) and had to wait about 15 - 20 minutes for our table. The staff apologized more than once for the delay and offered a complimentary beverage for our inconvenience. We considered leaving, but it smelled so good, we decided to stay and were glad we did. Everything we ordered was absolutely divine. We started with bruschetta appetizers (avocado & roasted red pepper) and arugula salad. We also ordered 4 different pasta plates and they were all tasty but spicy! I especially enjoyed the carbonara. We shared dessert (rum cake w/ sea salt gelato) which was a wonderful ending to our delicious meal. My guest is still raving about the food, he loved it and it was a special occasion and they took note and had a candle in the dessert. Can't stress enough how wonderful the food tasted! Then we moved our way into two pasta dishes (the tagliatelle bolognese and cacio pepe). For the main, we shared the branzino, and closed the meal with a chocolate gianduja crostata as dessert. Everything was delicious, but the tagliatelle bolognese was extraordinary. If I had a criticism (and not that I do) but if I had to give one, it would be that this dish was too small. It was so delicious I wanted more! I could eat 3 of those things and still crave for more. It's cozy, dim, tables are really close together, but the overall noise level drowns out specific conversations, lending an element of privacy and intimacy. Great seasonal menu with plenty of options. The service is always incredibly friendly without being patronizing or annoying.
