We walked in and were promptly greeted, although we were a little late for our reservation. With it cooling off outside we initially thought about sitting inside, but discovered the patio has heat lamps. Our Pinot Gris was great, as was the pasta. We had the linguine with pesto and the spaghettini. The food did by disappoint. Glad we had reservation for party of 6 as we got a nice table & the place filled up quickly. Waiters were very attentive & with Italian accents. Menus offered a large selection & then there was a l page of specials of the day. Water glasses were refilled quickly.
2 people ordered the paparadelle with duck ragu- delicious, the spinach linguine with seafood- mussels, clams, halibut, halibut on bed of mushroom risotto & panini - steak & grilled onions. All off special & all delicious.
Wine list has good offerings & we chose 2007 Syrah from Buena Vista - right down the road in Sonoma. It was very good .

The waiter made him and us feel very special. A desert of his choice and very attentive service. We enjoyed it immensely. Food was great, especially the halibut special. Always great food and great service. Simply, love it! I do have one suggestion, though. When seating guests, outside, in the evening. They should make sure to have more heating sources. One side of the patio had heaters, the other did not. We were seated on the side that didn't have any heating. The restaurant had Incredible comfortable atmosphere on the patio. The owner personally came to our table and recomended our cuisine. We let him decide for us and it was incredible Italian food. The atmosphere was so friendly that we struck up conversations with other diners who had dined there before. The food is fabulous (especially the pastas) and the wine list is diverse and reasonably priced. The waiters, staff, and owners are friendly, informative, and lack the arrogance I see when eating in the Napa Valley or San Francisco. There are many good restaurants in Sonoma, but this is our "go-to" spot for that special occasion. My wife is a vegetarian (If it blinks I tend to bbq it ;-) so I stopped by earlier that day to check in on the menu to make sure that there would be something great for her on the menu. Walking in I was greeted by a nice fella - turned out to be the owner - and he assured me that besides their homemade pasta there would be other delectables on the menu.
We were not disappointed! Our waiter; Benedicto was attentive, good sense of humor, suggested menu items and for my wife he made arrangements for a customized a dish for her.

An adorable older gentleman says, "Borgorno", and thus begins your experience. If the day is sunny or the evening is warm, please choose the outdoor seating by the fountain. They do have heaters on the patio, so I am sure that even on a cooler night, you would be plenty warm.

The prawns dore were lipsmacking good. And the desserts...oh my...I broke all my rules and tried all three, chocolate cake, panna cotta and a zabaglione-based sponge cake. I haven't had desserts like that since I was a little girl. Make your reservations early on Open Table. As soon as the weather is good in Sonoma it might be a challenge to get a walk-in table on a Saturday night.
