Diner Reviews
  • "We loved the creativity. This should not be lumped in with Mexican restaurants. It brings Venezuelan, Yucatan and Caribbean influences all together. Bring tequila and try the home made margarita cilantro pepper mix."

  • "The food and the price were great. Everything that we ordered was delicious and the price was not bad at all. I will go there again for sure."

  • "Delicias was able to accommodate 15 of us with only a few days notice for my husband's birthday dinner. The service was great & the food was excellent. None of us had ever been there before, but we will surely be back. The Chorizo that comes out on a flaming pig & is cooked tableside was a huge crowd pleaser. The jalapeño margarita mix was delicious even for those of us that thought we wouldn't like it. Carla our server was on top of everything which says a lot for being such a big group. Thank you Delicia!"

  • "The menu was concise with the right amount if goodies to choose from. We started out with the empanadas which were fried to a crispy perfection. Next we had the arepas with chicken and chorizo. That chorizo was very authentic. They came with homemade arepas. None of the instant mix here. Each dish came with many small dishes of beans guac and plantains to go along with the protein and eat were seasoned beautifully."

  • "My wife and I dined for our anniversary here. The food was delicious, the service was very good, the price was moderate, and the portions were excellent. I had the Churrasco which was cooked to my expectations and my wife had the masitas de cerdo. She enjoyed her dish. It was a BYOB (which we weren't aware of). However, the waitress recommended a Wine and Spirits shop within walking distance, which we purchased our drink and brought it back for our dinner. Overall this was a very good dining experience. We will be back to try other dishes."

  • "My friends and I were not disappointed with the food at Delicias. Everything was fresh and delicious and the servings were more than ample. We brought our own tequila and chose the jalapeno-cilantro mixer -- they were exceptional. We had two pitchers and could have had more..... I do have to mention that while the server was good, the timing of the food was too long. We waited at least 15-20 mins for our appetizers and then another 30 mins or so for our entrees. And we were the only people in the restaurant until about an hour after we got there and then one other couple arrived so it was not because they were busy. However, the time delay might have been because everything is prepared fresh and to order as the food was extremely good"

  • "From the outside you may wonder, but as soon as you enter Delicias you'll be greeted pleasantly and treated to a menu of treats from several countries including, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and more. This is a BYOB restaurant and the prices are very reasonable. Service is prompt and friendly. Portions are quite ample, so be conservative in your ordering. We definitely will be back for more!"

  • " Picked this place because of the reviews they have, but makes me wonder know...It is NOTHING like it says! But worst part of a whole experience was the fact, that we were rushed to get out of there after two hours! Our friends drove two hours to get there! All they had to do, let us know when we made reservation, about limited timing! Totally mismanaged place!!!So, maybe it is good as a street track, but other then that-Philadelphia has more to offer!!!It was a great waist of our time!!!The only credit we can give, would be to our waitress! She was right on!But, obviously pressured by management!Noticeably too!!!We have great attitude toward small businesses! So, it is unfortunate that we can't say much of a good for this one..."

  • "Food was great and the staff was awesome! Had a 40th b-day get together. Relaxed and unpretentious. B.y.o.b made it even better and the mix for the passionfruit/mango pineapple mojito was delicious. Will be returning there very soon."

  • "Decided to go to Delicias on a Saturday night as me and my lady wanted to try a new place, we were not dissapointed. The staff was very friendly, the food was perfect, I had mofongo while my lady had delicious arepas. It's BYOB and they have some terrific mixers to offer. Its a small restaurant that serves down home puerto rican food with class. I loved it. "

  • "We almost walked out before ordering. There was a large group at the first table and they put us at the next table. The noise was over powering. They did move us to the back and it was better but they should not allow large parties at it makes a very good sdinner turn into a very bad night "

  • "I just loved the place. I have not seen anything like it in town. I really enjoy latin food and I this place has really good one. I went with my wife on Saturday night and we had the soup "Mi Mar" which is a really good homemade taste of sea food soup. We also had the Apepas (Corn tortillas) with "Masitas de cerdo" which is chopped pork. The textures and the taste were great. We also had a Mango-Pinaple juice with a dash of menta wich made it refreshing. I wish we would bring a bottle of rum or vodka to join it since the restaurant is BYOB. Nice service and enviromen, quiet and romantic at that time."

  • "Went to Delicias with a party of 6. The food was extremely flavorful. Some of us ordered from the main menu and some ordered the specials!! We had the rib-eye, masitas, mofongo, empanadas and shrimp in garlic sauce. Some of the dishes came with arepas, yuca mash, other with rice and pink beans!!! We sampled each other's dishes and just could not get enough. This place is the real deal!! The food taste authentic, fresh and made with love!!! I know this restaurant will surely outgrow its space by the summer!!!"

  • "What a great meal. There is nothing on the menu I didn't want to order. I will be back to eat the Empanadas time after time. I tried beef can't wait to try fish (salmon). A bit in the loud side, but most of the BYOs are. Look forward to a return visit."

  • "This BYO places all it's emphasis on the food and they delivered. The food was on point. The arapas were excellent and the guacamole was outstanding! Try the chorizo, the presentation is just the beginning!"

  • "Great BYOB featuring a small menu with a variety of foods from Central and South America. The arepa platters were large and delicious; I had the pork which was delivered sizzling hot in a cast iron pan; it was juicy and flavorful. My partner enjoyed his fish of the day (tilapia) entrée, but felt the portion was a little small. We also enjoyed green plantain fritters and, for dessert, churros with dulce de leche. Prices were reasonable-- we'd come back again!"

  • "Great BYOB near South street. The inside is small with few takes but the nice point is you still have good room between you and the next take. Food was delicious, friendly and attentive service, but come early with reservations to grab a table. Fantastic place for a date, getting together with friends and sharing dishes."

  • "Not a large selection to choose from. Wife and I stopped in Saturday 03/01 grab a bite before the Sixers game. We reside in cntral Jersey decided to have a dinner in Philly rather than our customary restaurant in Jersey. I would not give it a 4 stars food was good not great. dinning area very small nothing elegant and the menu was on a clipboard from Walmart. Our waiter gave us the menu which include the special Ribeye. Wife decided on the Ribeye the waiter turned and said "sorry we are out of Ribeye". I was stunned Saturday early evening 6 PM and you have a special that you ran out so you are unable to offer. My guess never had the Ribeye because how can you run out on if not your busiest night."

  • "Really delicious food, the arepas are a big portion."

  • "Like many, I've had the delicious arepas at the food truck before trying the sit down restaurant. The flavors definitely translate and every dish we had was delicious and filling. Not exactly fine cuisine, but tasty/hearty food with some finesse. Would recommend it over Sazon, which has fallen off its game, imo."

  • "We had a great dinner at Delicias. The food is fresh, authentic and plentiful. The service was attentive and friendly and we were able to hear about the how the owner grew this location from two very popular food trucks near Penn and Drexel. Very reasonable BYOB."

  • "All of the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous, especially for the price. The service was fantastic, as well. We didn't realize the restaurant closed at 9 and they kept it open almost an hour late for us, because they did not want to interrupt or disrupt us. Also, the restaurant is BYO and they have mixers for each type of liquor. The drinks we had were phenomenal."

  • "The food was delicious, especially the beef. The chef offered and cooked GF tortilla chips which were great. We didn't bring any alcohol but the fruit drinks didn't really need it. All in all a wonderful experience."

  • "I booked this restaurant last minute to bring in the New Years with 7 of my closest friends. The waitstaff was excellent and the owner came over to introduce herself (she did so with every table) and stayed very visible throughout the night incase we had any questions or concerns. The food was delicious and plentiful. This place is BYOB so we brought our own liquors and they provided us with 2 homemade mixers, a jalapeño-cilantro juice and a mango-pineapple juice, both very good on their own but even better with alcohol! At midnight they provided everyone with hats, noise makers, and champagne toasts to celebrate the New Year. It was a great experience and I will definitely be going back."

  • "This place has such good food! I originally found out about Them through there food truck and, instantly fell in love with the place. The restaurant is on par with the truck except the portions and assembly is alittle different being that they give you 3 arepas instead Of one like the truck and all the condiments on the side so you can be Interactive and assemble them for yourself !"

  • "We dined at Delicias for the Spanish plates that were reasonably priced. We where'd a cheaper byob, and Delicias was a good fit. We got to meet the owners, (Sophia's Cupcake Truck in University City) Very nice people! Try the Empanadas! They were large, crispy, and flakey."
