Diner Reviews
  • "The food was very good and the drinks were delicious. The service was just a bit slow and the food took a little long. Overall we had a good experience I will definitely be back."

  • "Puts the "comfort" in comfort food. Not for those counting calories. Tables are very close together. I felt like I was dining with the couple at the next table. I heard every word of their intimate conversation."

  • "I'm definitely coming back and I can say the same for my friends."

  • "Really a great place if you`re looking after something cool, with nice interior and amazing food. Try the spinach dip-its to die for!!!!"

  • "I would recommend this place based off of the strength of the mac and cheese alone. Phenomenal food and amazing ambiance!"

  • "lobster mac and cheese was delicious, very good vibe and excellent drinks"

  • "The food was so good that I went there twice in one week! The ambience and the crowd is mixed and funky. I recommend the cheeseburger spring rolls, lobster Mac and cheese, the duck special and the burgers are delicious! Drink wise the mulberry st mojito is quite awesome. Ask them to use the blackberries vs the raspberries if you prefer a sweeter drink."

  • "Loved this restaurant. Loved the food, especially the truffle og parmesan fries. Very good servise, and loved the wine, both red&white. I would recomand this restaurant to other people visiting NYC."

  • "We were there for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant and bar was very full. However, the staff was very attentive and the kitchen appeared to handle it well. The menu selection was very diverse and the food was well prepared. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and this place is a must visit if you are in Soho!"

  • "This place allows too many young people to hang out and drink at tables and by drink I mean ONE beer each. Lots of young wannabes taking up space, talking at each other all creating a lack of service. I won't be coming back, ever. It used to be a favorite. Now it's just mediocre and noisy."

  • "The one takeaway I always have with Delicatessen is that my mouth is happy! Though many of the dishes are comfort foods, they are anything but plain. They kicked up not just a notch, but two. Buttermilk fried chicken, while served in a metal bucket, while bring "finger-licking good" to a whole new level. You should find this true with whatever you order."

  • "Always love coming here. Good food, great price, great service. Also wonderful private dining options. Great restaurant. One of my favorite."

  • "Great restaurant, great staff, always fun. A little pricy, but hey, this is Soho. You have to pay to be with all the beautiful people at Delicatessen."

  • "We always pop in for brunch when we can - love the food from the salads to the mac and cheese etc but the Truffle Fries are the standout!!"

  • "Excellent food and well presented. Service was below par, but OK. I am still amazed at how these great restaurants can't get the front of the house staff to tow the line. Will/have recommended this restaurant."

  • "We were in NYC to see the parade and made a reservation and loved the whole experience. We would definitely go back to this restaurant again. From the reminder call to the hostess when we arrived to the service - it was spectacular!!"

  • "It was good food and good service, but the Host was not friendly at all. Very rude!!"

  • "Great restaurant that I have come back to several times. Staff are excellent, food is very good and reasonably priced."

  • "The setting seems intriguing as does the menu. But two women without cute workout clothes or beanie caps weren't worth the focus of our waitress. We watched tables all around us get their food and the waitress circled anywhere but near us. When we finally got her to ask where the food was she came back to tell us the ticket had been lost but now the food was a priority. 15 minutes later we still didn't have the food so we called the manager over who got us the food but didn't bother to apologize. The food was ok. The Thai salad had noodles that were soggy but the burger was decent and the truffle fries a stand out. We went elsewhere for coffee since the lack of concern for our treatment didn't lead us to want to spend more money there."

  • "I came here in September with some friends and every time I come here I am never disappointed. The service was on point, the food was delicious, and I am in love with the atmosphere! I really love this place and will be holding a birthday celebration here! Please, even if you are just a bit curious, just stop by and enjoy the awesomeness that is Delicatessen!"

  • "The food was great and so were the drinks. In total a great experience and the waiter was very nice and helpful."

  • "Of Deli and Cafeteria, I prefer Delicatessen. They have some good Macs too, and even have a Mac Bar next door, but the rest of their choices I prefer too, even down to the decor. The downstairs lounge and minibar is really cool, and similar to Cafeteria, Delicatessen uses the openable window walls on two sides. Not outstanding: the cocktail price. This isn't Little Branch or some super high-crafty bar which can justify $15 cocktails. The Pomegranate Mojito was great though, and the Tilly with Gin was less than great, but honestly if you're going to spend that much on cocktails do yourself a favor and take yourself to Little Branch. By the way: Order the meatloaf. It was soooo good!"

  • "Enjoyed my meal as always at Delicatessen. Had the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese which was very good. However, they no longer offer bread while you wait for your food. You have to pay extra if you would like bread."

  • "We had a group of 6 reunite, and it was pretty loud for a Monday night, but we had a blast and the food was amazing!"

  • "I had heard mixed reviews from the foodies in my office when I said I was having my birthday dinner at Delicatessen but I ignored them and went anyways. I am glad I did! :) Lets start with the atmosphere. I really love the vibe of this restaurant. The music was great but it wasn't so loud that you felt like you had to scream to have a conversation. I also loved the wood paneling and the outdoor area is great for brunch in the summer. Now lets talk food. Our group got a mixture of things and shared them. We ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls, spinach & artichoke dip, lobster mac, scallops & prosciutto, margarita mac, fish tacos and the pork tacos. Everything was very good! The service was also great, our server was nice and prompt."

  • "Trendy yet casual lunch/brunch spot in Soho/Nolita. Always bring out of towners here - international comfort food, who doesn't love it?"
    Dined on 10/16/2013
  • "For me the food was a little salty... I do not like salt so that was a let down... Our waitress was not attentive she just walked up to the table started talking about the specials... She never introduced herself and once our food came out she never came to ask if everything was ok.... With me being a server I was very dissatisfied with her lack of awareness... People come out for an experience as well as good food.... For me they lacked both but my friends did enjoy their plates so... I will give them another try as the drinks were amazing!!!!"

  • "I went here to get a casual dinner with a friend on Sunday night. Probably the worst, most in-attentive service I had since living in NYC. Although I liked the interior, we were seated very close to another table."

  • "Went back to the standby menu selections of cheeseburger rolls and meatloaf, both of which were amazing as usual. A great opportunity to introduce an out of town guest to Delicatessen's great offerings."
