As someone with celiac, I am so appreciative of Del Posto's efforts to provide various pasta entrees that are GF and even a foccachia that's quite good. And sometimes the dishes are tasty but you can't rely on that. Garganelli Verdi with bolognese was tasteless and overdone with insufficient sauce. In spite of asking multiple times for a pomodoro with basil, the substitute came sans leaves and was bland. I like the Batali bottled marinara better. Crudo was good but just slightly less flavorful when compared to our last visit. But the fish soup secondi was very tasty. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable ( if a bit cowed by the chef) and the atmosphere lovely if bordering on stuffy. We'll go again and cross our fingers.

A perfect evening from primi to dessert. The service was superb and not intrusive. A magical evening for a special occasion was enjoyed by both of us. The burnt beef was one of the best ribeye steak 's I ever had. My lobster Cesar salad was also so good . This restaurant never fails to capture those special details

This place is a gem of a restaurant . Mario and his staff have thought of everything . Right down to the stool for your wife's purse . Parking is a plus as well. There's a parking lot right up the street. Once inside it starts . The five star experience begins . The captain or head waitress she's as talented as they get never a pen or paper to take a order and everyone is insink . One plate never hits the table without the other plate being presented as well . I can't wait to go back again worth every dollar . Let's not forget the food it's top notch nothing left unthought of .

Del Posto came up on my radar as a restaurant to try during my first visit to NYC - I'm so glad it did. It's a gorgeous restaurant with even more beautiful food. Plating suited the food & wasn't too over the top. Portions were great for a tasting menu & the flavors were amazing. I highly recommend white truffle pasta dishes when they are in season - truly a luxurious way to treat your palate. Don't worry if opinions might steer you elsewhere, as there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from; just know that you won't get a similar meal anywhere & this is more than worth a look.

After having good experiences with other Mario Batelli restaurants in NYC, we thought we would try his high end, fixed price option for a special occasion. There was a wedding downstairs at the restaurant and the band vibrated loudly throughout our meal. We are fine with loud but it was just out of sorts with this fancy, fine dining room and was in contradiction with the whole way they presented themselves. The service was impeccable but stiff and somewhat awkward. The pasta courses were good, the wine pairing made the meal, the rest was ok at best. Although they tried to make things right, which we appreciate, it still ended with a lot of money spent on a mediocre meal.

All I can say is wow.We have dined everywhere but never seemed to get to Del Posto. On our maiden voyage we couldn't have been happier with every aspect of the meal. The service was impeccable. The setting elegant but not stuffy. The presentation remarkable. And, last but not least, the food was memorable, Del Posto is our new favorite restaurant.

While very expensive, this place certainly lived up to the hype. We dined with our 11 & 16 yr old sons (who are foodies for sure) and they loved it, as well! The lasagna was to die for and the burnt beef left us craving this place over every other dining experience during our trip. This will certainly be a "must dine" for all future visits to NYC. After dinner, a walk on The High Line is definitely in order!

After a walk on the Highline down from 30th Street with my wife, we were ready to indulge in what ever Del Posto had for us on our day off. It was well worth the walk and time. From the minute we entered the restaurant, we were taken attended to hand and foot. The food was luxurious in every way and we did take advantage of truffle season. A tremendous prix fixe menu left us amazed with smiles on our faces as we danced through each course including dessert. Thank you for bringing us back to life.

High expectations were dashed with overpriced, small portions. Tasting menus rather than being unique each night, simply were your choice off the menu. No indication that iall menu tems were available a la carte and no indications that some entrees were more expensive than others. Wine list offers too few moderately priced vintages among their 3000 labels. High marks for ambiance, presentation and flavor, but there's just too many dining alternatives in NYC when one is spending this much money.

The service and atmosphere were stellar, HOWEVER, I was really disappointed with how salty the food was. Both pasta dishes and the main dish (burnt steak) was heavy in the salt. The deserts were fantastic. I really want to like this place because the service was so good, but when you're paying top dollars for food, everything, especially seasoning should be balanced and perfect.

They say you get what you pay for and nowhere does that ring true more than Del Posto. From the second you arrive you are treated like the upstairs family on Downton Abbey. A hostess leads you through a gorgeous movie set of a restaurant. For a second you'll feel like you're in a dream. Then on your way several staff will step aside and welcome you to your seat. Ladies if you bring a purse the staff will bring a small pillow-top stool for it to rest upon. Well qualified staff will then take you through the menu at a PhD level of detail. Every wine region, every culinary technique is explained in full. If you have a birthday or anniversary and aim to impress this is the place to do it.
