My daughter and I was there for Mother's Day. The food selection was great along with the VIP drink. The cheese steak egg rolls were awesome. I could eat them as a meal. The ambulance is great for any occasions. The only knock was that they were maybe a little too conservative on their reservations. We booked way early being a holiday. Tried to add a few more guests 48 hours in advance and were told that there was no way to accomodate a larger party (3 growing to 5). We got there 5-10 minutes after opening and it was not too crowded. Service was prompt and we were in and out in under an hour. There were a lot of empty tables at 5 til noon, multiple ones that we could have used for a larger party. Not sure if they had a bunch of no shows or they were not were all booked for noon.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat AtmosphereI love Del Frisco's - I have dined there multiple times, however my food on Mother's Day was a little salty - I had the Red Fish w/ Oysters - The red fish was very salty - I will be cognizant to let the waiter know next time if I have something similar to go light w/ the salt. Otherwise the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are great, the brunch is very good and I love the burgers! Thanks for creating such a great atmosphere.I asked on Mother's Day about possibly hosting a birthday party for approximately 15 people and I was told the dining room as a $2,500 min. It's a wonderful setting and it has great outdoor dining that sits right on Kirby @ Westheimer. I love the whole West Ave area! Amanda, one of the managers, was very nice and she took the extra effort to ensure my wife celebrated her special day in style. The real test was a ladies lunch to celebrate 2 birthdays in the group. The fact that all walked away happy is a true testament to the service we received. Our waiter was terrific, always with a smile, attentive and pleasant. All were satisfied with their meals, beautiful bountiful fresh entree salads. When it came time to splurge, we never even asked for the dessert menu. They had it all planned for us with delicious surprises. Let me say as for the bill, our group is as good as the guys. The place was packed, bar was three deep, line out the door. We had a party of 4 on a Friday night and had a reservation (good plan). We were seated exactly on time. Too often, even with reservations, have waited too long, but These guys were on top of their table management. Had appitisers, entrees, dessert and cocktails. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly, served in the right order and timely. Service was attentive and friendly. A bit pricy, but well worth the cost of the evening. We'll be back! We ordered from both the brunch menu and the regular menu. Crabcale benedict-excellent and eggs were perfect. Veal meatloaf was moist and tasty. My young son finished his entire stack of panckes. We also ordered a salad and cup of tomato bisque. The cappuccino was superb. Hopefully the food service will improve as we were one of the first tables seated for the day and our food took almost 45 minutes! The layout of the restaurant is great! They already had a crowd at their grand opening just after 5pm on saturday. In party of 5 ,we had the buffalo grit cakes, tuna tacos, and philly cheese steak eggrolls as appetizers. All was great even for those who thought they didn't eat sushi grade tuna. Entres were red fish, short rib stroganoff, shrimp and grits, collard greens and pork and beans. All great choices! I was particularly impressed with the greens. I was a little disappointed in the mac and cheese. It wasn't as good as its counterpart at Del Friscos steakhouse.
