Diner Reviews
  • "The fish tacos were great. Would definitely order them again if they're on the menu. The service at Del Frisco's has never been awesome. Waiters never seem happy to be doing what they're doing, and the manager visits to the table are confusing and ill-timed. My water never got refreshed and it was really hard even trying to find someone to flag down. I've been here many times and service has been an issue from the beginning (at opening, there were too many servers tripping over each other and no one knew what they were doing). I will go back, it's convenient and the bar is great."

  • "We were visiting from out of town and experienced legendary service from Zoe and the rest of the staff. Drinks were fantastic, food was tip top, and service was the best we experienced in DC!"

  • "We were visiting DC for the July 4th weekend, and found this restaurant on OpenTable. It was a great choice. The service was excellent, and the food was great too. The Cheesesteak Eggrolls were delicious and the Warm Chocolate Cake for dessert was yummy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would go there again when we're in DC."

  • "I recently visited this establishment with 5 of my friends. We were seated outside on the patio, which in itself is very nice. This place is blocks from the White House and very neat looking. We sadly were sat in a section where the lights were burnt out, and it made it hard to see our menus or anything for that matter. The food was reasonably priced but I know that my friends had some issues with their orders. Mine in particular was a hamburger that was way over cooked, and the salad came in this tiny little bowl. I asked for a larger bowl to place it in. The manager Meredith was informed of our issues and did little to solve them. She told us that she only had a few days left there. I believe that was part of the problem."

  • "Good variety of dinner and sandwich choices. Tough going after a holiday on a weekend because they were out of some menu items. Really nice staff. Wish their mixed drinks had less misogynistic names to them."

  • "Our visit on the 4th of July was our first and we really enjoyed it. Were glad we had reservations though since that's a busy time on the mall."

  • "The food was Ok, the restaurant is a grill. We walked in with nobody in the place and they wanted to sit my family with two young children in the bar area right next to the door. I had to ask for a better table. Service was slow with an empty restaurant. For the price I was expecting more. I love Del Frisco's regular restaurants, but will not go back to a grill again."

  • "Bar none, Del Frisco's Grille has the best meatloaf in the US! It was tender, juicy, a little slice of heaven. They also have a GREAT wine selection, with several wines priced reasonably. On a nice day, ask to sit outside and take in the sights & sounds of Pennsylvania Avenue. I am looking forward to my next visit!"

  • "I have been to Del Frisco's DC before multiple times; we usually go monthly. However, this time was different. My mom was in town and wanted to take her to a nice place that I know has wonderful food. We made the reservation with Open Table, because I assumed that since it was Saturday night, it would be busy. We got there at 8:45 for our reservation, and the place was empty. 10 tables max had people, yet we still had to wait for 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we didn't have a waiter/waitress until 20 minutes after we sat, without water, or even being acknowledged. Once our waitress took our drink order, we also ordered our app. and food since we were waiting for so long. I ordered the Skinny Cosmo, and it came with fly in drink..."

  • "This was a nice lunch spot to watch the World Cup. They had a tv set up outdoors so we could enjoy the awesome weather and watch the games. The food is good, a little pricey, but a consistently good spot for lunch."

  • "My family and I would like to thank Enrique and Emily for making a difficult day into a special memory. My daughter's best friend died of leukemia three years before and the night we ate dinner at Del Friscos would have been her 14 th birthday. These two wonderful people cheered our daughter by bringing out a cake with a candle and gave her lots of attention and even hugs. We can't thank you enough. Loved the food too. We will be back !"

  • "So our order of appetizers for lunch too nearly 25 minutes. Huh? Ridiculous. We love the tuna tacos and deviled eggs a lot so lavished those on ourselves. Finally. Love the lemon cake. Nothing gourmet just good."

  • "We went here spur of the moment and ordered pub type food (wrap, burgers, fries). It was delicious, and the cocktails were great, too! Great downtown location as well. Recommend for a first date or perhaps higher-scale bar experience."

  • "We had a party of nine with one child. The resturant was not very busy; only half of the tables occupied. It took over an hour for us to receive our food after the order was placed and one order was incorrect. Not a very complicated order; mostly burgers......"

  • "The menu on site is not representative on the menu currently on line; they have scaled down the menu. My burger was ok, the crab cakes are not very good, and my wife's steak wasn't prepared properly."

  • "This is a wonderful spot to gather with a couple of special friends or colleagues. It is really fun to order a bunch of appetizers to share over a few glasses of wine and marvelous conversation. The booths in the rear of the restaurant are conducive to personal conversations. The tables up front are buzzy."

  • "Very good food. Great service. I missed the fact that the menu was all a la carte, not my preference, so it was more expensive than anticipated. However, as I said, the food was excellent and it was large portions."

  • "Great food and wine selections. Everything was delicious, and we had a great seat where we could watch all of the action in the restaurant. It was a great place to have dinner before going to the theater."

  • "i had a really inattentive waiter that became agressive and disrespectful"

  • "The food was okay, and the drinks are overpriced for what you get. The Apt 5D sounded like it'd be great, but actually tasted like a vodka daquiri. Not what I was expecting, and it brought me back to spring break in Cabo. :) For $11.50 it was a bit overrated, as was my beef stroganoff for $29. The waitress forgot to bring our drinks, so she comped us a dessert, which was kind. Overall, the food is respectable and filling, nothing to write home about, but the service is good, and the atmosphere is very nice for a relaxed dinner or lunch with friends. That's getting more and more rare in DC, and I valued that more than the food/drink."

  • "I had a terrible service experience there in February. The manager more than made up for it on this lunch by giving my entire party a free meal -- totally unexpected. Thanks! I will continue to dine there on a regular basis with my coworkers."

  • "If you're a little picky, check out the lunch menu before you go. There aren't many things to choose from, but everything is good :)"

  • "I went there for a friend's birthday. We "fought over" the wild mushroom flatbread. For dinner, my friend had the sea scallops and I had prime sliced steak. The food was delicious. My steak was perfectly medium. I really enjoyed the sweet and savory balance from the basil and balsamic. My friend was very pleased with the scallops. I suggested that they add another variety of "surf and turf" by offering an entree with the sliced prime and scallops. There were some problems with the temperature. The potato cake was cold as if it came out of the refrigerator, but it was replaced with warm garlic mashed potatoes. The chocolate lava cake was lukewarm. Our server was pleasant, but was not well-versed with the menu. "

  • "Can't really say anything bad about this restaurant. Memorial Day, restaurant was dead, our server was energetic but did disappearing acts at the wrong times. My partner and I split a salad and had entree salads for dinner. How can you mess up a salad? unless you need more dressing which is what mine needed and I had to ask the food runner for more. I won't be back. Too many restaurants in DC and this one left me underwhelmed."

  • "I met there on Thursday, May 22, 2014 for lunch with a large group of colleagues. I enjoyed my experience there and the burger and fries were delicious. My only complaint is that hostess with the "most-est" needs to cover up. There is no reason that I should see a hostess' buttocks and dimples through her dress at 11:30 am. I realize that Del Frisco's is trying to be sexy and sophisticated but there is a thin line between sexy and inappropriate. I was embarrassed for her and for my female colleagues. "

  • "This restaurant has outstanding customer service. I had a very minor issue that when brought to the attention of the staff handled it in the most professional manner and continued to stop by to ensure our experience was special. "

  • "Service terrible. Food disgraceful. Expensive steaks cooked to look like shoe leather. Repeated attempts worse than original. Do NOT go to this restaurant. "

  • "From the first moment we were seated something seemed off. Service was slow and staff was inattentive. As a twelve year resident and fan of Del Frisco's in Dallas, plus a regular in NYC we expected more. This experience was terrible. Our waiter (Kevin) was non existent. Food quality was mediocre at best. Filet was undercooked and the scallops were raw. The "Philly egg rolls" were heavy and generic. Bottom line, don't go. Hopefully when Double Eagle arrives in DC the bar will be raised! "
