We had a great table with views out two wall of windows. Slightly quieter than in the main room. Ordered a number of apps - ahi tacos, deviled eggs, grilled artichoke - all very tasty, tho artichoke was messy to eat. Entrees included steak house salad, short rib stroganoff, and filet mignon. Sides were sweet potato fries and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was tasty. Service was good and regularly checked on us to make sure we were doing ok. Would def. go again.

This is a chain, but it does not have that feel. The decor is attractive and modern. The menu is varied, from burgers and salads, to steak and seafood. I particularly recommend the steakhouse salad and the flatbreads, but have enjoyed everything. The prices are reasonable.

Two of us went for lunch. Don't order Shaved steak sandwich if you like steak medium rare or even medium. Requested it to be medium rare. It was served well overdone - and looked unappetizing (not like picture on their website!). sent it back, & they made me another one. Fries were good. Double Cheeseburger - not great - can get better next door at shake shack. Fries that came with burger were lukewarm - interesting as came at same time as other fries. Server very apologetic, & Sous Chef who remade steak sandwich brought it out & said to ask for him if we needed anything else. Also had salad to start meal - too much iceberg lettuce in the lettuce mix for the price, & stingy with croutons. Very disappointing.

We were really looking forward to trying Del Frisco's Grille and unfortunately the food was a huge flop! Found it to be quite expensive for what you got, which wouldn't have been a major deal if the food blew you away. Not the case at all. Short rib stroganoff was overwhelmingly salty to the point of it being almost inedible. Wife's chicken schnitzel was not a schnitzel at all but just a piece of standard breaded chicken accompanied by luke warm noodles and a pointless unappetizing grilled 1/2 lemon as a garnish. Just weird. Service was very good especially for being the waitresses 3rd night on the job. Overall there are just too many WAY better restaurant choices in the area. Do yourself a favor and skip this one!

This is nothing like the downtown steakhouse. The menu is good but well stepped down which is not necessarily a bad thing. The double burger is very good and comes with great French fries for $14. Not bad considering the build out of the place. The service was lacking in many ways but for what we were having it was fine. Good bar scene and beer/wine list. Worth trying again.

I had the burger. Priced fairly and was very good. My friend had the lamb burger which he thought was very good. We both had fries, which were nothing special. He also had corn chowder. Again, very good. He tried two red wines and thought both were superb. We both thought that the other things on the menu were overpriced by a few dollars. I had the lemon cake dessert. I thought at $10.50 it was way overpriced, but I have to admit it was quite good.

The place is not jammin for lunch, so a nice ambiance... daylight with nice view, not noisy like it can get at dinner. The menu has a lot of great options. Saw a lot of burgers on tables. We enjoyed the broccoli and kale salad... and the tuna tacos... both excellent. Service is fine.

I found something hard in the cheesesteak rolls. Manager did come over, apologized, said he would come back when main course was served to make sure everything was ok. He never did. My main course was great except had a lot of mushrooms which it wasn't supposed to. Part of shaved steak sandwich eaten at restaurant was fine, but rest eaten at home had a lot of grizel which would have been returned if eaten at restaurant. Surprised manager did not offer to take appetizer off check or offer free dessert nor did he ever come back to see if everything else was ok as promised. We saw him at the end of the bar talking to someone most of the time we were there. None of this was our waiter's fault as he was very concerned.

I recently went here for the first time with my wife and one of my teenage daughters. Room is beautiful overlooking a lake in chestnut hill. Menu is a more casual version of what you would get at a Del Friscos. I had a Caesar salad and ribeye, both we're very good. Creamed kale was excellent. My wife loved the artichoke appetizer and I would agree it was excellent. Her seared tuna dinner was cooked perfectly but the noodles were just ok. She would have preferred just the tuna with some wasabi and soy on the side. Maybe we ask for that next time. It was pretty expensive so while kid friendly, it will be an expensive night out with the whole family.

We were expecting a low level dining experience, but this "Grille" had some of the most innovative variations on mainstream food that I have seen. Start with the "mundane" deviled egg appetizer, an incredible combination of monster eggs with a wonderful oil/vinegar/herb drizzle. The braised short-rib stroganoff is incredible, and, of course the steaks are perfect. Don't order deserts, because they are way too big, delicious and caloric, but wonderful. The service is, as you would expect, top notch. The wait staff is cheerful, helpful and, when you want, invisibly attentive. The GPS directions (both Garmin and Google) are tricky (it's on a frontage Rd on Rte 9W), so don't get angry with the GPS. Chill, adjust and have a great meal.

NOT A REVIEW!!!! THIS WAS TOO LONG TO FIT INTO THE PRIVATE NOTE!! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our first time visit to the restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere were all outstanding. One issue surfaced when I viewed the check. My friend ordered a salad/flatbread luncheon combo. She was served a small salad and what we thought was a personal size flatbread though quite large! This was her bday gift so when the check arrived I didn't want to make a fuss, but I was charged for a regular Caesar and a full flatbread. Your email inquiry has prompted me to write and explain the situation. Thank you....

I had high expectations for Del Frisco's having previously dined at the one in Boston and unfortunely this one didn't live up to my expectations. I had reservations at 6:30 and still had to wait 15 minutes for my table. Our waiter was very nice and attentive but the food was just okay. It was also. bit noisy and the booths were very small.

My wife got a lemon chicken and there wasn't even a hint of lemon on it. Plus with all the issues we had they apologized hit didn't even offer as much as a complimentary drink or dessert. They are many choices in newton so that will be the first and only time we go to del friscos

Labor Day weekend, 6:30 dinner and they couldn't seem to get meals out to the customers. We and others sat and waited- not that busy. If you order an appetizer recommend telling them to bring it with the entrees as they seem to build in a wait period. Manager came over and tried to cheer people up. Food (especially salads) nothing special and there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from.

When I go to restaurants, a big thing for me is consistency. Especially at a chain restaurant, I expect that if I order the same salad at Del Friscos in 2 different locations that they will be identical. However, here they can't even manage to keep the food consistent in the same restaurant. I have dined at Del Friscos Grille, Chestnut Hill about 6 times since they opened and 4 of those times I got the Steakhouse Salad. The first time was the best, had all of the components as described on the menu and the steak on it was cooked to perfection. 2nd time- no bacon was put on the salad, 3rd time- no watercress, 4th time- no watercress, tomato, or avocado. The steak alone is enough to keep me ordering it, but come on.. get it together!!!
