Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Las VegasFabulous!We went to Del Frisco's on recommendation of a friend for our anniversary. We will be returning often. We started the meal with the VIP martini which was perfectly refreshing.The food was spectacular. The crab cakes were the flakiest most tender I have ever tasted. They had absolutely no fillers and melted in my mouth. My husband had a trio of filets and was in heaven with every bite. He savored every morsel because of the seasonings and sauces. The wait staff was very attentive and everyone that walked by wished us a Happy Anniversary. Myrna was our server and was knowledgeable about the entire menu. However, while I am not a "budget diner," I have to really question the prices. On this visit, dinner for two wa over $300 with a modest bottle of wine. The steaks were incredible but the side dish (crab cake) and the accompaniments (baked potatoes) were only "as you'd expect."
I felt the serve was often selling rather than serving. Service was great but there were moments when more expensive options were being pushed. I didn't care for that.
Great food, but for $150/person it needs to be exceptional. It was not exceptional. This room was better because they had music playing 70's, 80's which made the atmosphere more relaxed and fun rather than stuffy. The wait staff is young, professional & accommodating which I enjoyed. Waiter explained items available that was not on the menu. A bit in the pricy range for what you get, however it was good food. Steaks cooked perfectly. I had the ceasar salad, crab cake and mushrooms also the Martini's were great! Not sure if I personally would go there again, but glad I experienced it. They had a Prix Fixe menu that was lovely and incredibly reasonable for the price. The Maque Corn Choux was absolutely heavenly (corn, bacon, cream concoction), as was the crab cake with a lobster sauce. The lemon cake is light, lovely and still a bit sinful - the serving is huge, so you will want to share it with someone. The waiter was attentive without being hovering. Personable without being intrusive. Just sublime.

Found that though good, often miss on personal touches and sometimes seem a little overpriced for the experience. 6 years ago in Vegas I opted for Del Frisco's believing it was a one of a kind as I hadn't seen any others before. Only later did I find out there are others in some different locations. My experince then was great so glad I wasn't aware of it being part of a chain otherwise I'd have missed out on a gem.
Every visit to Vegas I do now includes dinner here, whether I just take 1 guest or a group. Thank you Del Frisco's for proving me wrong. Service is outstanding, manager is phenomenal, and the most important part of the night, the food, is to die for. Make sure you are hungry before going there, because the portions are big (especially the sides which are family style). Desert is decadent and delicious. We had a wagyu beef on the bone for two, crab cakes and spicy calamari (forgetting the exact name sorry) as apps. For side we had the potato au gratin with cheese and bacon. Steaks, sides, and seafood appetizers were all excellent. Ambiance and environment worked out very well for a small group of close friends to enjoy company and a good meal. Service was very friendly and helpful.
Despite being a very high end restaurant, the check still came in lower than expected. Size and quality of steaks definitely justified prices. Side dishes were good portions for sharing (5 sides for 7 people was more than enough to complement everyone's steak). Drinks were pricey, but not outrageous considering all other aspects of the restaurant. She started a conversation with us. When our table was ready our group of eight got a prime table.
