He received a personalized card upon arrival, birthday greetings from several of the employees, attentive wait staff with frequent "table checks." My steak was perfect, the creamed spinach, sauteed mushrooms and chateau potatoes were tantalizingly delicious. My water glass was never empty and complimentary dessert was given. There was no wait since we had reservations and food came out timely. The ambience was nice and scenic as there were large, very clear windows to view the city skylines through. Not only was the food exceptional, the wait staff was outstanding. It's was my wife's birthday dinner, and several waitstaff personnel stop by, said Happy Birthday and all assisted with the food. Words cannot express the joy I encountered, watching my wife get pampered by your staff. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and ushered to our table. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly, which is a big plus in our book! Since it was my boyfriend's birthday, I had requested earlier on that he be greeted with a happy birthday. Every single person that worked there said happy birthday to him, and referred to us both by name. It was a great experience and we most certainly will be returning. It helped that the food was TO DIE FOR :) !!! Wife had lobster, daughter had crab cakes, I had this steak trio--3 small fillets each prepared with a different sauce. Truly wonderful food. As is our custom, had to end with that 7-layer lemon cake, taking over half home with me.
We only make it here once a month or so, since we moved to Spring and the drive--after wine--is a bit much. But we'll come back, that's for sure. They had off the menu selections for kids. The waiter was very friendly and did a good job at engaging the adults and the kids.
Our table was downstairs and I didn't really care for the location. It's very open, so there was not much privacy. (My mom liked that table and the view.) My food was really good. I had the steak "trio" - a 12 oz., center cut with three different toppings and it was delicious. My main complaint is that our food took a REALLY long time to come, I'm talking 40 minutes! It's good that we were not in a hurry. Also, soft drinks are $4 each. The shrimp cocktail we ordered was 6 cocktail sauce covered jumbo shrimp lying on plate lined with a big wilted lettuce leaf. It was really, really sad. If I'm going to pay $18 for an appetizer it had better dazzle me with either its taste, its presentation or both. Shrimp cocktail is just shrimp and cocktail sauce. It's really hard to turn that into a memorable flavor experience so the only alternative is to make the presentation unforgettable.
