Vegas has been my benchmark for all Del Frisco's I have visited. Immediately upon entering the Chicago Del Frisco's I enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. They managed to take a hisortic Chicago landmark, keep many of those qualitites and still make this a hip, chic resturaunt with the same great service and food the Del Frisco's has been come to be know for. I was a little surprised at how long our main entree's took to come out since we did not order appetizers and it was 10:30PM at night. I would say we waited about 25 minutes for our food and when it came out it was not hot. The wine list is very impressive and they have wonderful sommeliers that explain your chosen wine to you while they open and pour. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it. The lobster mac and cheese is the best I've ever had and the steaks are out of this world. I love smaller, intimate restaurants for dinner, so when I walked into this 24,000 sq ft restaurant I wasn't so sure. All of the sauces were delicious and the shrimp was fresh and not overcooked. I had the crab cake entree, which was very large. I ate one of the two crab cakes and took the other home. They were in a fantastic sauce, with just the right amount of spice. He had the veal tomahawk chop. It was cooked perfectly. It was my date's birthday, which I had noted on my opentable reservation. They had a personalized card waiting and the waitress brought dessert, a wonderful apple bread pudding. The service was terrific. Our water was always filled and the meal progressed at just the right pace. This is the best of the three Del's that we have dined at around the country. Just opened at the end of last year in the historic Esquire Theatre on famous Oak St in downtown Chicago. The place is over the top. One of the best steak houses ever for sure. There's about a million good steak house's in Chicago and Del Frisco's is right at the top of the list. The ambiance alone is enough for us to go back again and again. But of course the food is always fantastic at Del Frisco's!
