Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - BostonHubby's birthday dinnerIt was our first trip to Del Friscos. Every year I take my husband to a new steak house for his birthday. This year it was Del Friscos, which was recommended by friends. At first glance it seemed like everyother downtown restaurant. As my husband says " all the pretty people place". As it turned out, it was not that type of environment. The staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. We came in earlier then our reservation time about half an hour, but they were able to set up a table for us within minutes. This comes from a couple who were a waitress and a bartender at the Toll House restaurant for many years between the
Wakefield's(Toll House cookie originator)and the Saccone family.
When my martini accidently spilled- it was replaced.
The piece of cheesecake for my birthday had an incredible crust!
We have been many times and shall return many more....

Our party was eight people and everything was superb from check in at the hostess desk to dessert. We cannot say enough about the highly professional and attentive wait staff. The service from that point on was outstanding. At no point in time did we ever feel we were forgotten or ignored. Our waiter and his support staff were fabulous. They remembered that this was a birthday celebration and brought a delicious piece of cake with a candle(nice touch!). I do have one complaint with this restaurant. When you order two desserts for the table to share they come out with a third one like it's a complimentary. Well, it's not...it's added on to the bill. Now this restaurant is not cheap by any means. After you have appetizers, wine, drinks, entrees the bill is through the roof for a party of 6. So when they act like they are doing you a favor with the extra dessert ( which after spending close to $900.00 including tip) you would think they could comp the $10 cheesecake!!!

He enjoyed it a lot, along with an excellent shrimp cocktail. The waiter even brought out a piece of cake with a candle on it (without any prompting from me.)
Personally, I think it is rather pricey...especially the wine... however, it is Boston pricing, which I'm not used to...
