At one point I turned from my husband to sip my delicious raspberry martini to realize that it was taken away. Paul had taken my drink and refreshed it by shaking it in the martini shaker with fresh ice. Such great service! Tom, our waiter was also terrific. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and cut like butter. The au gratin potatoes were delicious and the onion ring stack was awesome. Appetizers reminded us of ones we had in New Orleans. Tom brought me a piece of delicious cheese cake with a great nut crust and a birthday candle. The ambiance is sleek and modern open to Boston Harbor. It was a perfect night. Have dined at all the major steakhouses in boston, but this is our favorite and supplanted Smith & Wollensky where we sufered from poor service. The food and service is outstanding. Specialty cocktails - great variety. Appetizers - all great, but try the cheesesteak egg rolls. We have had steak, lobster, lobster tail, and duck entrees and all have been wonderful. Try the au gratin potatos and brussel sprouts. Wait staff consistently excellent - go out of their way to make the dining experience pleasant. Only issue is with the noise level-would recommend one of the booths as this seems to help. Great ambience with views of the harbor. When I arrived, the noise level from the bar and the dining room was so incredibly loud that I could hardly hear what the hostess was saying. The bar is immediately behind the hostess, but the dining area was equally as loud. Fortunately, we were seated outside on the patio overlooking the harbor with the airport in the distance. It was a gorgeous evening and it was calm and relatively quiet outside on the patio. The hostess did mention that they were having an "event," but if I go back, I'll be sure to sit on the patio where I can carry on a conversation. Food was done perfectly. Lemon cake was yummy! The view is among the best in Boston and it's a great place to celebrate a special occasion--or just a romantic tete a tete. It's a bit pricey--but well worth it. An expensive night out for sure, but for that amazing night out this certainly does the trick. We were quickly seated for our 8pm reservation. We were seated facing the floor to ceiling windows on the harbor, looking right at the airport, a great view only improved by the lightning show going on. Our server, Jason has friendly and helpful with his suggestions. The crab cake app was outstanding. Our steaks were, of course, unbelievable. Porterhouse for me, ribeye for her. fork tender and seasoned beautifully. The most pleasant surprise was the amazing dessert. The hand-whipped cheesecake was perfectly light and sweet. I don't usually like the the sautéed spinach side dish but Del Frisco has a spinach supreme that was very tasty. They have bacon in their spinach. Also had the king crab gnocchi side, very delicious. We sat at a table on the bar side. It was a window seat but the hustle of the bar and the sports on the tv's took away from the feeling of a romantic dinner. The food was worth it. We met a few minutes early for a drink at the bar. It was a great after work scene. Lots of professionals but still easy to order a drink. The host staff was a lovely. We were suspect of the booth seating for our group. However, in the end we loved the intimate booth seating. The entire table was able to engage in the conversation. The service was spectacular. Our server was well educated on both food & drinks. She gave wonderful recommendations and had a great eye for detail. Seating was beautiful overlooking Boston Harbor. Wait staff was wonderful. Pricey, but that was expected. My daughter loves a good steak and could not stop raving about how delicious the filet was. As a matter of fact I also enjoyed the filet which was cooked perfectly, tender and delicious. My wife enjoyed the pan seared scallops and after having a taste I wish I had mixed a little. Sides are sides but the lobster mac and cheese was the best. The atmosphere was terrific. Of course the younger crowd milling around the beautiful bar maybe waiting for tables or just there to socialize. We will most assuredly make plans for Del Frisco's. Again.
