Diner Reviews
  • "This is the place to go when you wish Corvallis was a little bigger and more cosmopolitan. It's got a sleek, modern ambience, with a nice view of the river. One thing about this place: Like many on-trend fine dining establishments, they're very eager to tell you absolutely every ingredient in each dish. What this told me is that there are a few too many ingredients in some of them, and sometimes one that will queer the deal -- like, we were doing fine until they mentioned jalapenos or fennel, two of my least favorites. But, truly, everything I ate was delicious. The service was very accommodating, even allowing us to go out for a smoke break partway through the meal and come back to our table!"

  • "Even this rating system doesn't allow a too loud to hear the people at my table, I'll say it. Some restaurant manage to control noise well . This one is unpleasant if you want a quiet evening. Carpet would probably help reduce sound levels."

  • "Read the reviews and decided to try it, as we are always looking for a place with a Spanish bent to it that does not just cover everything with cheese. This turned out really nice on a Saturday night. We came early and closed the place down, with no one trying to push us out the door. Wine prices were less than double retail, so good for a restaurant. Service was quick and attentive without hovering. Bar area is separate, so the rest was more quiet. Food was just excellent. Had a couple tapas before moving onto the main course. You could fill up on all the great tapas actually."

  • "Friends from Eugene recommended this restaurant as one of the best in Corvallis. We were not disappointed!"

  • "This being my second visit and my wife's first (for her birthday), we were hoping for a really good dining experience and were not disappointed. Our server was great, knowledgeable and discerning, and the Filet Mignon was one of the best we've had, wonderful sauce and trimmings. The desserts are also excellent, the wines very enjoyable. the real bonus was the number of menu choices that were gluten free as both of us have an intolerance. We will be back for my birthday next month."

  • "We had a great time. The food and service were both very good."

  • "Our first dining experience with del Alma & they didn't let us down! Food, ambiance & service was great. We loved the spicy, Latin style food. From cocktails, appetizers to our entrees, it all was simply outstanding. I experienced the shrimp tacos & have never tasted better! We will spread the word & of coarse be back !"

  • "Everything, as always, was wonderful. Even though we got there on time for our 5:30 pm reservation on a Saturday night, the food took a long time to arrive. We barely made our 7:00 pm event in the same block. Next time I'll allow more time, which I don't mind at all."

  • "The quality of food, service, and mood greatly impressed everyone in my party: perfect for a quiet, classy evening out, but still welcoming - not unpleasantly highbrow"

  • "Went for the Valentine's Day Special, the date and I had a fantastic time. Service was very good, great location and decor, and food was phenomenal. The most expensive meal I've eaten in Corvallis, but also the best. Would definitely be willing to go again, it's a top notch establishment."

  • "Food is great here! I highly recommend anything pulled pork-related. Scallops were great too! Our complaint was that the hosts/hostesses made us feel bad for wanting to step foot in the place. "Yes, we have a reservation." I've never thought it was possible to feel awkward at a host table. Anyways, I think they could be more accommodating and friendly. Food great, service eh."

  • "This was my 4th dinner at Del Alma and each was outstanding. Best Caribbean-themed food I've had since I left Florida. Tapas were really tasty. Try the tuna!"

  • "Food was amazing, service was perfect, the wine was delicious. Cool setup for the restaurant. I highly recommend it."

  • "Del Alma is a terrific newer restaurant in Corvallis. The food is wonderful, the drink menu is terrific and the desserts are out of this world. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just fine dining. Really nice atmosphere too!"

  • "Everything about this dining experience was perfect, from the hostess, to the table, to the service and especially the food. Outstanding"

  • "Took another business group to Del Alma again; two years after first visiting the place, and it was every bit as great as I had remembered (and promised this group)... If you are anywhere near Corvallis (we were staying in Albany for a Trade Show), make the drive and treat yourself to a great meal, with great service (thank you Dixie!); you won't be disappointed!"

  • "My son and I spent the weekend checking out Oregon State in Corvallis. After a long travel day, I wanted an "adult" restaurant in which to relax and have a nice cocktail. This was perfect! I loved everything from the comfortable chairs and the tables spread out far away from each other, to the cool bar that changed colors every minute. We shared five tapas, soup and salad, and were stuffed. Loved the homemade complimentary bread and three dips. Great yellowfin, guacamole with bacon (!), brussel sprouts and more. Service was excellent. Everyone we met in Corvallis was extremely friendly."

  • "We lived everything! We had the culinary week specials plus dessert. Everything was soooo delicious! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great! Can't wait to come back!"

  • "Another awesome meal! Man, I do love those Margaritas you make. The salad with the pear, blue cheese, and pine nuts was so great too. Discovered that the olives in the salad dipped into the little white bean dip are an amazing combination. The salmon "Pozole" was to die for. Thanks for giving every bit your very best!"

  • "This restaurant is always a favorite. The small plate menu makes sharing an easy option, but still gives you enough to feel satisfied. Dessert is always an experience for the taste buds. Can't wait to come back and try something new."

  • "Delicious food, but our reservation was at 7 and we didn't get our table until 7:30. That is my only complaint. Our server was one of the best I've ever had! She was super friendly and helpful."

  • "We went to Del Alma as part of Corvallis' Culinary Week and had a very good meal. We tried two of the three "culinary week chef samples," as well as one of the tapas (pulled pork and sea scallops). Food was very good, though portions weren't particularly large, but we expected that given what we ordered. If this is representative of their regular nightly food, would definitely go again and would recommend this place to others.,"

  • "the 5 of us remarkably spent 3 hours enjoying small plates, entrees, desserts, wine - and had a wonderful time with attentive service and great presentation"

  • "We went to Del Alma for Corvallis Culinary Week. When we arrived, we were shown to our table right away. My wife ordered the taquitos and thought they were a little too spicy for her. I ordered the tacos and thought they were just fine. The portion size was just right for a Culinary Week plate. The service was prompt. I ordered a pint of beer that I thought it was priced at the high end. My wife ordered a glass of wine. She finished the meal with a flan for dessert. Parking is always an issue at Del Alma. We had to park over a block away and walk. Not a problem in warm, dry weather."

  • "We dine at Del Alma on special occasions. The food is always creative, perfectly prepared, and delicious. When we ate there during Culinary Week we had small (perfect for us) sized portions of two different entrees. The pulled pork with polenta was absolutely fabulous. Our table on one of the tiers overlooked the bar and main floor and out to the river. One of Corvallis's finest."

  • "Del Alma is a great choice for a special occasion with delicious choices for everyone. The care given to the preparation and presentation are worth the prices. And maybe your special occasion is just dinner with someone you care about!"

  • "The food from the changed menu is not as great as the old menu, for example, the entree lamb and the pasta were not as delicious as before. The desert is still very good."

  • "Our waiter was a bit green (we think) but he made up for that with a servant's attitude which is primary. Otherwise, our experience was outstanding in all respects. I think we were seated at the best table in the house, on the second level with a nice view of the bar. Tables are spaced for privacy, and the leather chairs are very comfortable. The food is superb, as are the cocktails (we never feel gypped by the bar). We ordered three tapas, three entrees, and a bottle of Pinot Noir. The tapas (meatballs, jumbo shrimp, brussel sprouts) were delicious and generous servings. I recommend the leg of lamb, steak (filet mignon), or fish (lemonfish). Del Alma is a great dining experience, the best Corvallis has to offer."

  • "Went there for the special New Years Eve menu. Had requested a romantic table and they delivered! Very great service, food, and drink! Only critique was the salad was a little out of place in presentation but everything else was delightful!"

  • "Our group of four enjoyed the four course new year's eve menu. It was so outstanding. Each course was perfection. I had been to Del Alma in the past for dinner and enjoyed it a great deal. This new year's eve meal was perfect."

  • "Food artfully prepared and good value for quality. Clean and attractive. Desserts excellent - high grade of chocolate used in mocha. Perfect amount of salt in food - can actually taste the ingredients. Perfect service. Would love to see some sound-deadening materials to knock down the echoes from the high ceilings. Will go again. Nice place to dress up for. Great for a date!"

  • "This is a great place for a special occasion or a business dinner. The food is very good even though the menu is somewhat limited. Definitely a dining experience that is unique in Corvallis and closer to what you would get in bigger cities. Expect to pay for what you get however. Prices are big city as well. Still, worth it."

  • "River front location has quiet outside dining in the season, food is locally sourced, meats are humanely raised and hormone free, menu is varied for all diners, interior is upscale, service is gracious and timely, happy hour drinks and small plates are perfect for a light meal; prix fix dinner on WED evenings is outstanding. Corvallis is lucky to have del Alma."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by innkeepers in Corvallis; it was fabulous in every way - stunning decor, perfect lighting, terrific service, wonderful menu ; splendid food; we drank a Spanish tempranillo; we had four tapas- shrimp; pulled pork with scallops; chile relleno; and albondigas (meatballs) - for dessert we had sherry and port. A perfect restaurant experience."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants in the valley. Never disappoints. Cocktails and tapas are fantastic, as are desserts. We have rarely made it to an actual entre, but when we have we've love those as well."

  • "There were a lot of small dishes on the menu that my husband and I did not care for, so we ordered entrees. It was a good choice, as my salmon was very, very good, cooked just right, and served with on a tasty bed of veggies and things (it was dark). We ordered the hacienda salad, which turned out to have a very spicy dressing. I couldn't eat it, and the waitress did offer to get me a salad without the heavy jalapeno. The bread and dipping sauces were excellent, as was my pisco sour (just like in Patagonia). My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork with guacamole and black beans. The desserts were great.. It was fairly noisy, but not so that it would interfere with conversation. A good birthday dinner."
