Diner Reviews
  • "We have been coming here for years. And this was the first time that I was not blown away. The brisket was too overdone...a bit tough. The selection was not as amazing as it has been in the past. And this was the first time that our tea/coffee were NOT included in our buffet price. Really, 33 dollars and you can't include coffee or tea???? Maybe we will try them for something other than the brunch next time. I wish the brunch could be like years past...dessert bar used to be AMAZING. Please try to recreate that again."

  • "Great food! If you like Bloody Marys or Mimosas, make your reservation after 12 because of their liquor laws. Remember if this is during the summer the space is not air-conditioned."

  • "The variety of food has improved since going to the new layout several years ago."

  • "This is just one of our favorite places to eat in Asheville. Food is always prepared fresh and is very tasty. Service is as good as it can get at Biltmore."

  • "We have an annual pass, which you need to get into this restaurant. It was our first time there. We think it should be open to anyone who comes to Asheville and wants to experience a special meal in a beautiful environment. It was practically empty when we went this past Sunday to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. The food was original and delicious. We went for the Sunday brunch which mentioned breakfast foods, along with brunch foods. There was a very limited selections of breads, nothing special. Could have done better with that. Also at about 1:30 they ran out of trout which I had only taken a tiny piece of to try & I wanted to have a bit moref. The smoked brisket was outstanding and luckily I was able to get another piece."

  • "We brought out of state guests for lunch on Saturday and enjoyed a delightful, relaxing lunch. It was a place we could have easy conversation. Although not actually outside, it is very close to that with glass that opens to views of a courtyard and gardens. We enjoyed live music while we ate. Servers were polite and did not hurry us, yet they were attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding! The trout perfectly cooked. Salads were unusual. We all loved the nut encrusted watermelon salad as it was so different. One can never go wrong with the desserts. The smaller size of the desserts allows tasting several choices without wasting food. More people should find this dining gem at Biltmore. It is our favorite restaurant on the estate."

  • "Overall it was a very lovely experience. The food was first class and everyone was very nice. The bluegrass music was great had was the breeze from the windows. The only complaint I have is that the buffet was covered in flies, especially the salad bar."

  • "Excellent atmosphere for special occasions. Delicious food. Beautifully presented"

  • "This was our first time visiting Deer Park. The food that stood out for our group was the meats (Mahi-Mahi Ham, Prime Rib, Pork) all were tender and flavorful The Omlette Bar and Pancake Bar were delecious There were a large variety of side dishes as well The Large selection of Desserts were definitely worth saving a some room The thing that most impressed me though was the ambience. They had a Blue Grass Band playing live in the center court and the large windows that opened to the center allowed both the music and the warm southren air to filter in with out either being over powering."

  • "Go for the brunch at Biltmore's Deerpark Inn if you are visiting the estate for the day or staying at the Inn. Annual passholders should not miss this dining experience as admission to the estate is required to get to the restaurant. We had time for brunch and to tour the house and visit Antler Hill Village afterward for the wine tasting. The ambience was delightful and serene, food was expertly prepared and presented. Numerous serving stations meant no long queues. The food was excellent and service was friendly and attentive."

  • "Lovely setting. Overpriced. The room with the food stations was difficult for us to access as we were seated far away from it. Food was good. Service medium though there wasn't much for server to do. Enjoyed being there."

  • "Have been to the brunch before, quality seems to have deteriorated , food not as we'll prepared. Currently over-priced for what you get."

  • "Large variety on the buffet, from Mahi Mahi to Prime Rib, very kid-friendly, breakfast foods, salads, fruits, desserts, but $45 per person is overpriced and only includes water! Non-alcoholic beverages are charged separately."

  • "Disappointed that it is not open on a regular basis for dinner."

  • "My partner and I chose to dine here for brunch during our visit to the Biltmore, it added to the elegance and ambiance of such a beautiful place."

  • "Deerpark is located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, a sufficient distance from the main house to leave the "matting crowd" behind. It's a tad bit rustic, but food, furnishings and tableware are all topnotch. We attended Saturday Brunch, which is a buffet affair ... the food was well-presented and equally delicious. Wow - it was an OpenTable member - what good luck."

  • "We loved the variety of the food but, for the price, expected a better quality and that the stations would be resupplied before the last shrimp was selected. I also thought it would have been nice to have juice or tea included with the meal. We took friends for their 16th anniversary and they enjoyed the unique experience of dining on the estate."

  • "I would enjoy returning for brunch, but I will not pay the entry fee of $63.50 that is required to dine at Deerpark. Any recommendations I do make to friends and family, I will inform them of the entry fee charge plus the cost of brunch. Base cost of $98 per person, not including tax and tip. This is an outrageous amount of money for Brunch for one person!"

  • "An outstanding experience for Sunday brunch. Excellent and great service in a beautiful setting. What more could you ask for. We will be back frequently. Just moved to Asheville and it was our first time at the Deerpark. We had a Sunday brunch for my wife's birthday and it was wonderful in everyway, including strolling through the Biltmore gardens following brunch. A magical day. If you live in Asheville or vicinity get a Biltmore annual pass (we did) and enjoy its natural beauty, great restaurants, and many other amenities."

  • "We have been to Deerpark several times while visiting Biltmore. It is almost always our chose of a place to eat while at Biltmore. The Saturday buffet and Sunday brunch are top notch! The staff and ambience are great and we will definitely be returning! "

  • "I have eaten at Deerpark many times over 13 years and have experienced ups and downs in food and decor. This latest visit for Sunday Brunch was a real change for the better. The menu has changed to a more innovative fresher approach, keeping up with a more "foodie", less Southern traditional. Items such as raw kale salad, smoked scallops, many bread choices ( the strudel/rugala was outstanding) were a welcome change. They have cut down on the dessert choices but now that the savory choices are more interesting I didn't mind. Overall Deerpark is a great place to enjoy a huge choice of food in a really pretty setting. Take a walk after to work off all the extra calories!!"

  • "The food was delicious, service was great. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 3:00 reservation (earliest one we could get on Mother's Day), and were seated almost immediately. The only discrepancy I would point out was in the pricing. Website said brunch was "under $30". Turns out that "special days" it's $45. Without any beverage. Even coffee & tea were extra. But it was a lovely setting, and all the ladies got a potted flower. Nice touch."

  • "The ambiance of Deerpark Restaurant was beautiful. We had reservations and were seated 10 mins after arriving. Our table was nice, but by moving to the next table both of us would have had better views. My mom and I went to get our food and when we came back a hostess was waiting for us and let us know they had moved us to the preferred table. The food was delicious and there was lots of choices. Would I eat here again? You bet!"

  • "I was very disappointed. To start off, when I booked the reservation the buffet was $30pp, when I arrived it was $45pp - NOT A GOOD START especially with guests involved. The menu had shrimp and scallops, yah right. The shrimp was a messy peel your own - one way to assure not many would be needed. I had to ask where the scallops were and was advised to look under the shrimp. Yah right, they were the size of peas but since I love scallops I took some only to find out they were stone cold, NOT GOOD. I think for a $120 per couple buffet I could have done MUCH better. The lobster bisgue soup was the last straw, its was not very tasty and you really had to wonder where the chef was."

  • "The Mother's Day Brunch at the Deerpark Restaurant is a not to be missed event. The food is sumptuous and plentiful. The pace is easy and allows one to enjoy the ambiance while savoring many of the recipes unique to the Biltmore Estate Kitchens. "

  • "Loved the food. I had the prime rib in horseradish and it melted in your mouth. The spinach salad with peas and strawberries was delicious. We all enjoyed the dessert bar with the small servings so you could try more."

  • "Brunch is always lovely at Deer Park but avoid booking late in the day. They don't refresh the desserts and the dessert table looked terrible. cupcakes knocked over, not replenished, the banana pudding was at the end and they didn't refresh the spoon so it was full of pudding. Very off putting. The lobster bisque was out. I saw one chef combining things instead of refreshing them. The dining experience should be the same for the first people of the day and the last."

  • "I am a Biltmore Passholder but have not been to Deerpark in a number of years. I took my daughter, her family, and a close friend to brunch the Sunday before Mother's Day so we could truly enjoy our Mother's Day without the usual frenetic pace that holiday seems to invoke. The food was delicious and the setting as beautiful as ever. Our party included a 9 year-old boy and a 15 month-old girl. We were seated in a wing with other well-behaved children - a wise strategy on the part of the staff. It is a live space due to the tile floors, glass and open areas but the noise level was never unpleasant and nobody's kids were wreaking havoc. There was a lovely place to walk with the baby so nobody felt rushed and everyone had a wonderful time. "

  • "My daughter chose to have Deerpark brunch as her 18th birthday "party". Food was exquisite!! Loved that there was music in the courtyard with the windows open to the outside! Hickory smoked brisket was unanimously the favorite! "Happy birthday" decorated plate with cake balls was an elegant special touch! "

  • "The food was good but more limited than it used to be. I had not visited for many years. The sugar free dessert was quite slow being delivered. We took it with us for later since we had to move on. The musicians would have been more appropriate for another venue than for lunch. The restaurant offers a lovely setting. The staff is always pleasant and friendly."

  • "My wife and I are non-meat eaters and any time we wanted to go out to dinner, Deerpark was always first on our list. Before you closed your daily operation we tried to visit at least once a month. That may not seem like much, but we live in Greeneville,TN. over an hour away. If we have visiting guests you were the first place we chose to bring our friends. Things ( food selection ) did seem to be reduced towards the end of your daily open period. But always very good to excellent. This trip was wonderful! Thank You"

  • "We have eaten the Easter brunch 2 years ago & it was outstanding!! This year my family & I were very disappointed with the menu & the service!! The lady that helped us with our reservations was very accommodating, but not pleased at all with the food compared with the cost if the buffet!!!!!! And our server wasn't as helpful as she should have been either. Probably won't be back for holiday buffets again..."
