Deep Blue Bar and GrillMother's Day treat!This was a last minute decision to celebrate Mother's Day at the Deep Blue Bar and Grill and I could not be happier we went. We typically go to a larger and much louder restaurant for special occasions but this was a God send! I cannot say enough about the quality of the food , especially the soup. On this occassion, we had tickets for a concert at the Hotel Dupont so we made early reservations in order to be done in time for the performance. Our server, Dustin, fast-tracked our orders - not rushed service, but smooth, professional approach since the restaurant was full of pre- theatre diners. We followed his recommendations and had a delicious meal- even had time for dessert. Our server (Stephanie) was outstanding and made us feel comfortable right from the beginning. The staff was very friendly, well prepared for us, and knowledgeable about the new menu, the drink offerings, etc.. Their wine list, though not confusingly extensive, was still notable; and we trusted the staff to suggest a bottle which would go well with 4 separate meals. In the end, the food was fantastic (the carpaccio and the caramelized onion tart were two of my favorite appetizers), the wine perfectly matched, and the overall mood was spectacular. We also had a lovely wine that was on their wine by the glass selection.
