One in our group of four had a steak which was very good. The macaroni and cheese with blue crab was awesome! The crab cakes were awesome! The best I have ever had. Seemed like no filler. The fish selection was very good and the fish meals ordered were all very good. We will be back. As a local, it's a little out of the way but will certainly be a future stop for seafood and steaks. I cannot say enough good about it...if for nothing else it makes the trip worth it. I also had the swordfish...it was tasty but tough. It was overlooked a bit...not bad...but for a $250.00 bill for 4, would have like better. The rest of the meal was wonderful...and again...the sushi. The wait staff was well-informed and courteous. The menu had our special occasion at the top of the page and we were able to take it home as a reminder of our fabulous meal. The kitchen accommodated our special dietary needs and sent out a fabulous complimentary dessert in honor of the occasion. My waiter was very nice and efficient. My boyfriend was able to coordinate a personalized dessert with the waiter without me knowing :) . The waiter also apologized about them not being able to sing for me and said he would if he was allowed to. I also able to keep my personalized menu (with my name & happy birthday on top). The food was tasty, the wine was delicious, the ambiance was absolutely beautiful. At the end, another waiter took a group photo for my party several times until we were satisfied. The only concern I would address was that when we first arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand and several servers saw us waiting as they were just stading around chatting, yet none of them came by to greet us or say that a hostess would be over soon. Manuel was our server and was super friendly along with the team of restaraunt personnel that catered to all of our dinning enjoyment.
The food was amazing. The raw bar was so fresh., crab cake for a starter is a perfect way to begin introducing your taste buds to the sensational dinner to come. My wife ordered the braised short ribs and was pleasantly surprised to see a seafood resaraunt make such a great beef dish. The most suberb dish was the chilean seabass! Clearly the best fish I have ever ordered from a restaraunt. From Maine and being a avid seafood eater I am far from easy to impress. Our evening ended with champaine and desert sampler. They even went ahead and gave us their recommendations for the evening along with what wine pairing should go with our selection of entrees. When it came to dessert, our selections were delicious and out of this world! We had a child dining with us and she selected ice cream of course and the waiter actually took her next door to the Starbuck's that served ice cream and allowed her to choose whatever flavor she wanted. The crab cake, the vegetable spring roll, the seafood, and side dishes were all impressive. We went early in the evening so the room was mostly empty. You should expect high prices, great attention from the staff, and a well appointed room with a piano bar just outside the formal restaurant (the cocktails are also outstanding). Entering the hotel and through the lobby to the hotel we checked in fairly easily. The decor and atmosphere was great and comfortable. We started off with the soup, blue point oysters (excellent) and three way poke (ahi). The poke was fresh but the flavors I thought was a miss. Three way poke had three stacks prepared with different sauces. One was Thai peanut , a traditional and a really hot spicy Korean sauce. The Thai was to saucy you could not taste the fish and the Korean spice sauce was too hot and ruined your palate. I would recommend to the chef to keep it simple and let the fish make the dish.
