Very friendly, good food & beer and quite affordable. On a Sunday evening, the street scene was like Manhattan -- plenty going on with: community center & night clubs within a couple of blocks.

We never miss at least one meal here when in Sacramento. Food and draft beer selection is great. The service we had on our recent visit was exceptional. Super friendly and attentive. Our evening was even more enjoyable because of this service. Fish and chips are delicious too!

It's not the first time I've been to Devere's, but this one was the best!. Table was ready on time, and our server did an excellent job, we were a group of 7, the place was packed because of the Sac Republic game, and she did an amazing job handling our table!

It was our (my wife and I) first visit to this place, reason for coming was to see the Republic's final game with a friend in authentic atmosphere since we knew other FCs fans would be there as well. Everything was great, $16 pitcher, Republic drinks were on sale (match day). Ordered beer mussels and pub nachos, nachos were a surprise, thats where we realized=) it not a mexican place. But we still liked all of it! Great place, will definitely come back.

Great old fashioned "home cooked" style Irish food. Great bangers and mash, shepherd's pie and Irish stew. Great burger too! NOT for anyone who does not care for meat and potatoes though ;-) From what I hear gets really busy Friday and Saturday nights in the bar, but we had a great family dinner on a Sunday night. Was pretty slow at that time. My 12, 10 and 6 year old all found something g on the menu they really enjoyed. I love that on the kid's menu the offer a "bandit plate" for $0.00. It is a plate and utensils to swipe some eats off your parents's plates :-) I would have loved that when my kids were much littler

Saturday afternoon 2:00, kinda busy. Three of party of ten in early, served in a timely manner at bar table. Rest of party arrives... 10-15 minutes later moved to a table, ready the whole time (made reservations). Service... slow, appetizers good, menus ordered, kitchen delivered in a timely manner. Food... 6 of the ten orders had eggs, dry, even poached eggs were dry. Loved my Bangers and mash, and the Irish coffee, best I've had. Buena Vista, O'Kanes, even mine at home, distant second. It's a Bar! Great draft beer and the best Irish I've had, that's the reason to go to de Vere's!

I think your first visit to a restaurant is very telling. When I checked in, I was told that the restaurant does not take Open Table reservations on Sunday, even though I made one. Luckily, there was seating at a table in the bar for my party, which included two children. Unfortunately, the hostess did not see to telling a server that we were there. We were in eyeshot of this hostess, who could easily see we hadn't seen anyone. The waitress, once we asked for one, and one was assigned, was very nice. She more than tried to make up for the gap.

We had a good time people watching and enjoying our pub food dinner before attending the Music Circus. Menu includes a bar menu, salads, sandwiches and entrees. This is a great place to people watch and enjoy a cold beer. There are TVs showing sports so beware if this isn't what you had in mind. Service was great and our food was decent. Although we arrived early the table was waiting for us. The restaurant and bar were quite active. Our waitress was always busy, but she spent the exact right of time with the 3 of us to see that our needs were met. One of my guests was quite pleased with her Bloody Mary as it had bacon strips in it. We have eaten in the Davis deVeres many times and were familiar with the menu and ordered the Shepard's Pie and the cheeseburger, both favorites of ours. For desert we shared the bread pudding which was not your typical recipe. It was two pieces of bread rather than chunks. The caramel sauce and ice cream made it quite scrumptious. We all enjoyed the experience. Parking is difficult in this area on Sundays.

I made a reservation for two. We were seated immediately then it took our waiter nearly 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. Once he did, we tried to order some drinks and asked "what do you have on tap?" - he had no idea. So we ordered our beers; another 20 minutes later he returns my friend's beer telling me the one I selected was out. I choose another. It takes 10 minutes to get that one. We've still not ordered dinner. He drops my beer on the table and disappears. We ended up asking the hostess for everything because our waiter was never to be found. I would NOT recommend if you are on any kind of time table (we only had 2 hours to eat). If you don't mind waiting several hours, then it's pretty good.

It was 105 degrees that evening when we arrived early for our reservation. Happy Hour at de Vere's. Sitting in the comfortably cool pub, we started our evening with an Irish brew and a very cool Chardonnay. I ordered the Irish Stew--OMG, every morsel was so delicious. The beef was so tender it felt as it was melting in my mouth. I had to stop myself from licking the bowl. We topped off with an equally scrumptious dessert. From the pub we walked to the Sac Community Theater and enjoyed 'Wicked'. Have to go back--can't stop thinking about that Irish Stew!

We came downtown early before the show "Wicked" and had picked de Vere's Irish Pub by searching the web. It was close to the theater and we walked from our parking location. The Pub was very quaint and welcoming. The staff was great and our server in particular was outstanding. The food came quickly and was delicious. We will definately return with friends. Our dinner experience made the evening even better.

I brought my family here for my birthday because I knew everyone would love it. I've been here a few times before, less now that I no longer work downtown. I prefer to go for lunch or early dinner because it becomes so packed and crowded in the evenings that there is standing room only. We loved the food. There are so many food choices that it is always so hard to pick. Two of us had the Irish stew. The meat literally melts in your mouth. One had the shepherd's pie. I had a taste of it; I'm not normally fond of shepherd's pie, but this was greater. The one downside (since it is downtown) is parking. There is a pay-for-parking lot nearby (but who wants to pay). Otherwise, it can be hard to find parking within one or two blocks.

My teen kids and I traveled to Sacramento with my husband who was attending a legislative conference. This pub is next door to the Residence Inn - Downtown. The location is fantastic. I had made my reservation about three weeks in advance but when we arrived, the host wanted to seat us in a very tight corner, squeezed behind a panel next to another tiny table. No way could four people could sit where the host tried to seat us. We were eventually moved to an adequate table when some guys sitting in the bar said they did not need theirs. Once we ordered, the service was great and my salmon was absolutely delicious. My kids enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie and steak and my husband loved the Irish Stew. Ambience is good. They just need more tables.

Seated in the bar area-too dark-we could see our food only because we sat next to a flat screen TV One in our group of 5 arrived first and when I arrived they could not find my reservation so we had to look for our party! I would have preferred to sit in the front dining area by the window but did not have that option on the reservation form. I thought I had my sunglasses on. The food service was great and the waitress was helpful and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a "taste" of Ireland and good comfort food.

Knowing it was a Friday and it would be busy I made reservations. We were seated quickly, and then completely ignored for more than 10 minutes. The waitress walked passed us several times and adverted eye contact. Another server noticed and took our orders.Once we got our order placed and food and drink arrived all was good. Great beer selections and the food is good. Many of the servers' attitudes need improvement. I hope they realize that their employee Ryan is an excellent asset. He came over several times to check on us. Apologized for our wait and as we left made sure all was well and hoped we would come again. Actually he was the only reason this is a good review. Thanks Ryan. Hope your bosses appreciate you.

We were there for dinner not to celebrate the wearing o' the green, but it was kind of fun to watch the crowd enjoying themselves!
