A word from De La Torre's Trattoria
De La Torre's is a quintessential Italian trattoria. Our recipe is not a secret- we prepare and serve delicious food using quality ingredients. The menu is distinctly Italian offering trattoria classics and our hallmark special menu which changes daily to accentuate the freshness of locally grown
produce, naturally raised meats and freshly caught fish presented in numerous creative dishes. The wine list showcases exceptional and unusual varietals from small producers and family wineries in Italy and in California. The service is friendly, efficient and professional. Simply put, we feature delectable food at a fair price, food people want to eat everyday.

This restaurant also has a great
specials menu. Also have fish specials."

We were looking for a restaurant
to meet family at a half way point in the city of Pleasanton. Originally we were headed for Main St but in making a reservation found that the first Wednesday of the month the street was closed. Looked in outlying areas and found this off the beaten path in a strip mall. Food was excellent. Great fish and risotto. Nice wine list and staff was pleasant. Would meet here again if we wanted to repeat restaurants."

I recently ate at DLT for the
first time. All aspects of the experience were good. This restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center between a grocery store and deli, but don't let that keep you away."
Dined on 6/27/2014
Food was delicious and service was
great. Daily ravioli and risotto specials, as well as others make the menu work. Squash ravioli was yummy. Nice ambience...don't let the strip mall location put you off."

We've been here several times and
are never disappointed."

Great menu selection with a Great
Specials menu that has many fish selections."

I was surprised this place is by a
grocery store but the food & service took it right out of my mind. Superb polenta fries (laches salt, but given people's dietary concerns, I understood), awesome Caprese w/balsamic, and a filet mignon that rivaled my favorite steakhouse! All told, this place is a gem!!!! I'd love to see them in a space with a patio."
Dined on 6/16/2014
Had a great meal. Good service and
we could hear ourselves talk and we're not rushed out."
Dined on 6/16/2014
We have been going to De La
Torre's for almost 20 years. Never had a bad meal, or poor service. Its close to home, and just a great neighborhood restaurant. It is one of our favorites in the Pleasanton area."
Dined on 6/11/2014
This restaurant has great fresh
fish. Also has a long list of specials."

We like this restaurant because it
is warm and Italian. The food is always good and makes us feel like we're lost in Rome down an alleyway, sitting at a table at sunset, eating authentic Italian fare. The waiters are always friendly and the room is inviting with its Italian décor and comfortable seating. What a great place to visit over and over again."

Absolutely loved it, I will be
going again. The food, the wine, and the whole environment just just perfect date night. "
Dined on 5/16/2014
Four of us had lunch at the
restaurant - which was easy to get to, and in a strip mall so parking was very convenient. The staff and food were very good. The food isn't gourmet, but it is like very good home cooking. The portions are large. All in all we were all quite happy with the place."

I grew up at Ann's Cafe in
Oakland, CA. Our family ran a restaurant like this before Momma retired after 43 years. I am back home again every time I come here and what a way to end a meal with the inspiring coach madden who love this place more than life itself. I come here over and over again and will be going. This place is very special! The customer is treated like family and the food is excellent and priced fairly!"

Seating was too cramped. True
Italian style food was great. Fish not so great. Very loud. This was a Friday night at 8pm."
Dined on 5/9/2014
We have lived in the neighborhood
for many years but had never dined here until Fri. evening. We were very pleased with our meals and service and definitely will be back."
Dined on 5/2/2014
This was a nice find while
traveling. Wonderful food and service, and a quiet atmosphere. We could have conversation without shouting across the table. Relaxing and nice from beginning to end. The food was very good."
Dined on 4/9/2014
Its been a few years, so we were
curious how this restaurant was faring. We had enjoyed our first dinner there on a quiet weeknight. We were a little apprehensive about the noise level since we wanted to visit and catch up. We were seated promptly, and menus and bread were immediately produced. The noise level was moderate, and service was excellent despite a full restaurant. We noted that empty tables were promptly filled. Oh, and the food - superb - monkfish, spaghetti, tortellini and veal dishes were all declared excellent. Only thing lacking, perhaps, were vegetables with the entrees which were served Italian style with no accompaniments. It is a simple remedy to order your favorite veggie on the side."

I must say, I booked this online
thru Open Table and when I arrived, I was horrified. The front looks like it could be a laundry mat... I was impressed by the staff and their understanding of the menu and attentiveness. I had a Cesar with calamari and it was exactly what I wanted. Someone at the table next to me had a calzone and it looked impressive and the smell was to die for."

De La Torre's Trattoria is a small
busy spot in Pleasanton. The food was good but the amount and price played the opposite game, the less food on the plate, the more expensive it was! I asked for medium-rare to rare steak but got a well done little round puck. My wife loved the Lasagna and my friend were ok with their selections but no to write home! It seems that they only have one waiter for all those tables and he dissappeared everytime I needed something, but he tried hard! I'll recommend the place and give them another chance."
Dined on 3/18/2014
The food choices were very good.
Excellent wine list without being too long. The wait staff were friendly and knew when to be there and when NOT to be there (that is often difficult for some to get right). Very excellent dishes of pasta (both pesto and marinara styles), shrimp, scallops, sausage .... all excellent. I would definitely go back."
Dined on 2/24/2014
Noisier than usual for a Saturday
night; hard to talk to one another. Waiter kept asking us how things were; the attention is nice, but at some point we want to be left alone. Food is always very good here, but the cappellini pomodoro had very few tomatoes and was dry. An off-night in the kitchen, perhaps. We'll try again before abandoing this restaurant, because they have a great track record."

Best restaurant in Pleasanton!
This is our go-to for almost any occasion as it has excellent food and is reasonable. Don't change - we love you just the way you are!"
Dined on 2/22/2014
With a menu that offers a nice
variety of entrees that are all terrific, this is a great dining spot. One of the best restaurants in town!"
Dined on 2/19/2014
Too many tiny tables jammed into
the dining room. Cramped, inconvenient, and not at all intimate. My filet mignon was tasty and cooked nicely, although the potatoes and vegetables were lackluster at best. I expect the chef to care about everything he puts on a plate. My wife's veal chop was borderline burnt, and so tough she literally had a hard time cutting it. She was sawing and sawing at it - if we hadn't been dining out for a special occasion, it would have been comical. She managed to eat 1 bite of veal, half a Brussels sprout, and 2 bites of potatoes. She declined a to go box. There was a time when if you couldn't eat your food, a restaurant would try to make if right. Anyway, we went home and she had some leftover Chinese food."

Food is always good and the
service is very good. Lots of options on the menu and everything smells good and tastes even better!! Great place to get together with friends and close to my office. I love that you can make reservations and will definitely be back."

Delicious. The dining staff is
always friendly and responsive. We love the changing menu. The restaurant has a great and simple feel. We never leave disappointed. Having had a good meal with great service."

I have lived in Pleasanton for
over twenty years but have only recently been to Delatorre's.. Everything is solid. I love their chicken Parm,. It has a great sauce and is moist without being greasy. I have not been disappointed once and this restaurant is in the regular rotation. We have a lot of Italian restaurants in this town, but none deliver like Delatorre"
Dined on 1/18/2014
While we have been going to DT's
for many years, they will occassionally offer chicken contadino, as they did this Saturday, and it's always been superb. Done in a high output oven with roasted potatoes, many heads of garlic, and Calabrian sausage makes for a spicy and very tasty dish, and this week's was no different. And coupled with a nice Zinfandel off their extensive wine list made for a very special meal. Always consistent, always the best Italian food in the Tri Valley, and always a very helpful and attentive staff. Couldn't ask for anything more..."

The food at De La Torre was not
good, lacked taste for the most part, probably because overcooked. Traditional italian pata should be, if anything, el dente and lightly cooked. The only item that had taste was the minestrone soup, why by the way had many good ingredients, but the taste was the wrong taste, it was a tomato taste and not what I expected minestrone to be at all. We had linguine pesto and tortelloni, the linguine was badly overcooked, no taste at all to either the pasta or the pesto sauce. tortelloni also had very little taste, the only taste to the disk was the prociutto."

Great little authentic Italian.
Great service and a great meal!"
Dined on 1/13/2014
We loved our entire evening here.
After a warm welcome, we were immediately seated and began reading the extensive menu. Not only did we see pasta and classic Italian selections, but also an entire page of appetizer and entree specials. So many great-sounding choices. Everyone in our party ordered a different entree, and everyone raved about their dinner. Oh, and did I say they also offer gourmet pizzas if that might be what you're craving? Great spot!"

We ate on New Year's Eve as a
family and enjoyed it tremendously. What a great find! We all deliberately tried different meals and shared with each other. We asked for things not on the menu and were accomodated. Service was outstanding! I gladly gave a 25% tip. Eight of us and we were ALL pleased. We will be definitely going again."

Always an Excellent Choice to have
Dinner at De La Torre's! Even on a very busy New Year's Eve, Dinner was Very Good, both the Food and the Service."
Dined on 12/31/2013
Most consistently good restaurant
in Pleasanton. We have been going to De La Torre's for many years. Even better, prices are relatively reasonable. Unimposing from the outside, casual atmosphere inside, but a wonderful experience. If you are looking for a "sure bet", try this place."
Dined on 12/28/2013
A bit chilly in the restaurant,
felt life i needed my coat. Food was very good as usual, but wasn't as hot as we would prefer, ie, pork and mash."
Dined on 12/23/2013
Great menu with lots of choices,
the service was very good, and the pasta I had was excellent. The portion sizes are generous and i would definitely go back. Love that you can make reservations on Open Table!"
Dined on 12/16/2013
We love De La Torre's. It is one,
if not the, best restaurant in Pleasanton."
Dined on 12/10/2013
Delatorre's location in a strip
mall may not impress, but it's the best Italian in the area. The menu had many standards but also a number of unusual items and specials. The wine list is extensive. The service is great. It's good for lunch as well as dinner, and the prices are reasonable."
