Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I enjoyed an appetizer, a few small plates, wine, and desert to go! Food was great but unfortunately they didn't have any specials and service was very slow."

  • "The food is the star in this restaurant. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious, unique, hot. The prices are NOT bad if you stick to the smaller sizes, and experiment. The most expensive things on the menu are the entrees, which we did not try this time. However, the service was a mixed bag. Our main waiter was spectacular and attentive. There was a person helping our waiter who seemed to be more of a bartender (longish, 1970's hair). He was creepy, unsophisticated, and forced his way into our table's conversation. He presented the Carbonara to my husband and said, "Here's your heart attack on a plate!" Finally, the young man who was clearing plates continuously touched our plates to clear them before we were done eating."

  • "When making the reservation on line, I was unaware that the night was a special wine pairing , five course meal occasion. We stayed even though I wanted something on the regular menu. I wasn't disappointed though. Each course was delicious, especially the homemade spinach pasta with shrimp. So I assume all their homemade pasta is equally delicious. The service was very good and our server was very friendly. The manager or owner came over to ask us how we were enjoying the meal, which I thought was very nice. I will be going back to try the regular menu, probably over and over again,"

  • "For amazing and incredible Italian food, handcrafted at that... This food embodies the passion and heart that goes into creating it. I've been to DC Pasta at least a dozen times within the last year. I bring family from out of town there and dine on special occasions. The food has always been at the APEX of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. With a changing menu from season to season there is always something mind-blowing to try!"

  • "Great Food, service and atmosphere or as Dr. Seuss would say" Super de buper special deluxe ala Peter T. Hooper""

  • "If you love a variety of tastes and favors in a meal, this is your place. They have a nice variety of appetizers and small plate offerings, and the pasta dishes come in three sizes. We had mussels for an appetizer, olives and cheese for a second course, appetizer portions of two different pasta dishes (and they were healthy sized), and a sample sized of another. Everything was no worse than good, and the pasta with white calm sauce was terrific. We were there well over two hours and never felt rushed. Our server was great, and offered a number of good suggestions. Only issue with service is that we got a bit of a full court press. I had to tell three different people we were not done with the mussels in a two minute span."

  • "This was our first time going to DC Pasta. The variety on the menu was great, and we really appreciated the olive and cheese options! The plate size options were also a nice feature, allowing us to try several different dishes, all of which were very good. It was quite loud in the restaurant, which was fine for us, families or large groups, but perhaps not the best setting for an intimate dinner. We will definitely go back!"

  • "Everyone loves the 3 sizes available on pasta orders - taste, appetizer, dinner. You can switch the pasta around with any preparation you like, and there are copious options for interesting nosh to start with drinks or wine. Great concept - excellent food!"

  • "We keep coming back...food is great, and we enjoy that you can sample different pastas, and sizes. A very nice change of pace to the cookie cutter Italian chains that are all over Strongsville. We tell everyone we know to check this place out."

  • "The overall experience was good- but not as good as it has been. The Verde Tagliata salad was limp and the red wine shallot dressing had zero flavor. The pastas were all good- calm sauce was a bit bland. The caramel budoni for dessert was the table favorite and the tiramisu was our non-coffee drinking diner's favorite- because it has minimal coffee flavor. Would go back again- I do love the tasting portions, but I would make some different choices."

  • "My husband and I enjoy using Open Table to find a last minute dining option. This was one of those nights - made the reservation at 7:50 and arrived for a 8PM table. We were seated right away. Service was prompt and friendly. We enjoyed starting with the $4 plate of olives with drinks, followed by the chopped salad, which had slipped from the fresh perfection I had raved about in previous reviews. Maybe it was just an off night? The carbonara pasta with egg and pancetta was delicious as always. My husband enjoyed the spaghetti with the home made marinara sauce and pork meatballs. The atmosphere here is nice for a date or conversation. Never stuffy and a notch up from casual."

  • "The decor, furniture and lighting are terrible. The service is only fair. The food is pretty good, though the menu is short on tempting entrees."

  • "Pasta Carbonara was the best I have ever had. This meal alone was worth the visit. It is impossible to get better anywhere. Mussels and Sausage appetizer was first rate. Pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe was first rate. Clams and Spaghetti was average. Salad was uninspiring..."

  • "This is a neighborhood gem for sure. The wait staff is always friendly and accomodating. The menu is fun as there a number of interesting items like the choice of different olives and marinated vegetables. The menu has undergone revamping since the restaurant openned. One of us always chooses a pasta dish and is never disappointed. Another chooses a fish or meat entree. These tend to be a little less dependable in taste."

  • "DC Pasta is a great place for quality pasta dishes that don'e even resemble the chains. Fresh, tasty and innovative combinations.. We love the choices of portion sizes, so selecting two is almost a must. The special this evening was an outstanding seafood spaghetti with marvelous flavor in the sauce. Service was efficient on an evening when every table was full. The only complaint is that I have been waiting almost a year for them to make good on the promise of returning the lamb and mint pasta to the menu. Promises, promises! (Lots of other wonderful selections, but I love the lamb!) One day, we will return to find it...yes?"

  • "The only part I was upset about was the fact my server didn't tell us the specials. I normally order from the specials. Small complaint, I know. But food was good and so were the portions."

  • "Heard good things about DC Pasta. Waiter seemed distracted and entrees were overly spicy. Salads were all wilted and had rust colored lettuce. Appetizers and desserts were good though. Might give it another try?"

  • "We ended up here last minute on a weeknight when we were out running errands. Everything was delicious. Loved the concept of being able to order smaller portions to try a variety. The salads were great, especially the arugula, and everyone liked the 5 pasta dishes we tried. We enjoyed the meat and cheese board as well. The bread and hummus were just okay. Can't wait to return and try some marinated veggies and some of the meatballs on the menu. Fun menu, is appointed I had not been there sooner. Great wines and selection too."

  • "It's easy to overlook DC Pasta because of it's location, but my husband and I had heard good things about it and dined there on Valentine's Day. The menu was a little confusing at first because there are so many options, but once the waiter explained how the portions work we really loved it. The sour dough bread was nice, but I could have done without the white bean hummus. We both ordered appetizer portions of the linguini carbonara, which were large for an appetizer, and we split a taste of the gnochetti with gorgonzola. The "taste" was about a cup of pasta, more than enough to share a taste! I ended the meal with tiramisu, the best I've ever had! Even though I was so full, I was scraping the mug with my spoon!"

  • "DC Pasta did a wonderful job for our first Valentine's Day. One thing changed my overall experience from Very good to Outstanding was upon arrival (15 min in advance) I was told that my table was not ready, then 3 other couples got seated before us. That was odd. Once I got seated. The server was amazing. She explained everything about the menu and gave recommendations for wine's. The 30 for under $30 wine list was great. The meats and cheeses were superb. Both entree's we got were delicious and seemed very fresh. I recommend the restaurant for any special occassion."

  • "DC Pasta does most everything right. The way you can order from tastes to apps to entrees is a great way to sample some really well done pasta dishes and then round your experience out with other offerings from the menu. Service is knowledgeable, convivial and fun. The only thing I'd like to see is better lighting as it tends to be a little bright in the room and the for a Dante restaurant you assume there will be cool fixtures and things in the restrooms but they are a little worn out. Great place to go for a night out or just a casual dinner. Really well done every time!"

  • "Second time here, and everything was fabulous. We went for Valentine's Day and expected it to be busy and service to be a little slower. We got our drinks, appetizers and food in great time. The fried risotto appetizer was outstanding as well as all the entrees (taste portions) that we tried. Love this place!"

  • "Both the food and the service were top notch. Great ambiance and an awesome menu. The menu is set up perfectly to try different foods because there are multiple portion sizes."

  • "We took friends of our to DC Pasta. It was their first time there. The ambiance of the place was very nice and our waiter was knowledgable as he aptly answered all of our questions as well as made wonderful recommendations based on information we gave him. We were not disappointed and our friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The best comment made by them was the opportunity to have the "taste" sizes of more than one dish to compare and contrast and, at the same time, not over eat."

  • "If you are looking an Italian restaurant that is not like the typical chain restaurant, this is it. The menu is limited, but good. We started with the mushroom appetizer, followed by the house salad. We selected 3 cheeses from their Formaggi. One can also get sliced meats too. The pasta comes in 3 sizes: taste, appetizer, and main course. My wife could not decide between 2 pastas and order 2 appetizers which became a good main course. I had the veal cutlet with ham and fontina cheese. The desserts are good too, which are made at the restaurant. The service was very good. Although we don't come to D C Pasta company very often, the waiter remembered us from the last time."

  • "We found the place noisy with the wrong type of music lending to a loud atmosphere where is was difficult to hear our server explain the menu and specials. The food was good but not great. The pasta was a little bitter, the sauce was a little acidic and the salad was chopped up so small that nothing could be handled with a fork. it had to be scooped into the mouth. Overall good, but not great."

  • "We liked the place. However, also thought the food was rather high in price. I got the veal & for $22 I thought I should have a true piece of veal not a ground up pattie! The mushroom appetizer was superb."

  • "My husband and I really enjoy DC Pasta, it's the consistently good food, service and ambiance that make it just a nice place to go! The restaurant is comfortable, just nice enough to be "nice" without being the least bit stuffy, a great "go to" for any night/reason."

  • "Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, however service was quite slow. It was New Years Eve and they were running on a limited menu, not exactly too sure why service was so slow. We ordered our meals and it took about 50 minutes until the food arrived. We will try to go back again to make a fair decision."

  • "This is a GREAT restaurant flying under the radar. Not because Dante Boccuzzi is unknown (his Ginko in Tremont is HIGHLY recommended for Japanese) but because the location is tucked away in Strongsville. That just makes it even better for those of us on the southwest side! This was my second time here, and the first for dinner. It's great for lunch or dinner - same great quality and attention either time of day. It was the first time for my teen daughters, and they were treated royally and loved the food. This was for our annual holiday dinner before the Cleveland Orchestra Christmas concert - we usually make that an occasion to try something new but we may have to eat here again before the concert next year!"
