The food is always fantastic and is naturally focused on seafood. This is a restaurant where I have taken all ages and professions and they are always happy. Food was fantastic as usual....had the diver scallops on a ham emulsion with finely diced cubes of roasted sweet potato.....wish you could bring back two wonderful dishes from the past....diver scallops on fresh pea risotto and beef on top of grits surrounded by beet puree (looks like sunrise around the plate). Have only had one little bad experience. Did not care for the brussels sprouts during the visit before last....way undercooked...no hint of apple. Wish I could take some cooking lessons at your restaurant. Would love to learn how to sear scallops perfectly. If you ever decide to do it, please contact me. We chose wisely this time! D.C. Coast was both elegant and comfortable - a combination that is hard to find. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was perfect. The rockfish and swordfish selections were outstanding. The scallops were prepared perfectly, and the crab cakes delicious. The NY Strip was tender and flavorful. Loved the sweet potato gnocchi. Kindly, they split it in the kitchen and it was gorgeous to look at. I had crab cakes (served with baby pickled onions) which were the best I've ever had - no breadcrumbs in these and my husband had Diver scallops which were equally delicious. The presentation was beautiful. They serve sparkling water in their own bottles which are refilled (an added green effort). We were seated in a huge booth, which wasn't the most comfortable.
