DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud's downtown restaurant specializing in bangers, burgers, and beer. We offer house-made sausages, burgers, and all in addition to seasonal Lyonnais-inspired bistro cooking. For beer lovers, there are 22 drafts to choose from and another 75 by-the-bottle. The interiors pay homage to the Bowery's history as New York's restaurant supply neighborhood. Try our $27 prix-fixe for brunch on weekends. For dinner, we offer a daily $38 prix-fixe. Finally, our private room hosts parties for up to 18 people with a view of all the live action in our kitchen! Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Love this place! Booked a table through the restaurant week website and mentioned that it was our first night on honeymoon from Belfast . Amazed at the attentiveness of all staff from girl on the door, to our waitress Amanda, the maître de and even the chef. They all agknowledged that we were on honeymoon. When we arrived we got 6 free oysters in the house to welcome us to nyc and also a gesture of baked Alaska cake at the end of the evening saying congrats on the plate. Excellent food, second to none service and a great atmosphere,"

  • "My daughter had recommended DBGB for a birthday celebration. I knew nothing of the restaurant so went on line to check out the menu and to get a sense of the setting. The website does not do it justice. I wasn't impressed with the exterior photos and there was not much to pics of the food. So I was skeptical. No more. The interior was so very appealing. The relaxed ambiance has an elegant urban vibe, comfortable and very romantic. Our party of four enjoyed the service, which was attentive yet not intrusive. And I can't say enough about the food! Amazing! It was a joy to be served such wonderful fare without a long wait. I recommend highly. Enjoyed the whole experience."

  • "Food was awesome. 4 star rating because I didn't like the Chilled Corn Soup. I don't think my taste buds are on that level. The Pate Campagnard was rich, but a great starter. Frenchie Burger, delicious but I think they forgot the tomato-onion compote, but nonetheless it was an amazing burger. My boyfriend had the Farmhouse Sausage, so yum. All the meals were the perfect amount of food. Peanut butter sundae, amazing. We couldn't drink because we had too much the night before and our 4 diet cokes cost us $14. I know it's the city but, sorry, I hate paying for refills. Got our sodas after the appetizer, but at least they were filling the water every five seconds. Loved the decor, ambiance. The staff was very friendly."

  • "Most dishes were ok, but underserving its "out of this world" reputation. The omelet was worthy of American Airlines: tasteless, industrial, with styrofoam texture. Salad lacking vinaigrette. The server and manager were concerned, came over to inquire what had happened, took the omelet from our bill and sent a complimentary dessert. Overrated. Do not waist your time and money."

  • "The food was poorly presented, not tasty, too little and very expensive!"

  • "We went for the restaurant week lunch. The chilled corn soup was delicious. However, the most famous Frenchie Burger was tasting very bad; a very small Beef patty which had no BEEF taste, and hard to bite. Farmhouse Sausages were too salty and less juicy. I can not believe this restaurant is under the famous Chef Daniel Boulud's management, and can not compare to other Boulud's restaurants in Midtown and Uptown, NYC. At last, I was so surprised the waiter was charging our food as regular price, not the restaurant week lunch price, and she fixed the price after I was complained. I will never recommend this restaurant to my friends again, but I will still go to dine in other Boulud's restaurants."

  • "I've been to DBGB twice for NYC Restaurant Week and been thoroughly pleased both times. I would be happy to come back even when it's not Restaurant Week. The menu is diverse and interesting enough to tempt me back. Environment is more casual and approachable than some of the other Daniel Boulud restaurants, though it was very loud. Love how the kitchen opens up to the dining room, spent some time watching all of the action. Enjoyed my steak au poivre and loved my friend's Frenchie burger. My friend ordered the chef's choice cheese plate for dessert, but we were never told what the cheeses were. Overall a great experience."

  • "We went for the $38 prix fixe for restaurant week. The chilled corn soup was delicious. However, the steak au poivre was mediocre-sliced steak, hardly any peppercorns, and the sauce was...odd. Not what I expect or love when I order the dish. The dessert, Black Forest cake had no relation to actual black forest cake, which I've had in its natural habitat, Germany. It was more like spumoni-cream/chocolate, etc in one congealed chunk, cherries on the side, ice cream added on the side. If restaurant week is intended to entice diners to eat at a specific restaurant at full price by showing off some excellent cuisine, DBGB failed spectacularly. I'll never go back. Overpriced and medocre."

  • "Me and my friend came here for restaurant week and it was pretty good. The menue was a definite cut for normal prices and there were many good options. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the servers were really friendly and helpful. However, my friend is allergic to gluten and asked for them to make sure all here meals were without gluten which they said they did, however she still had an allergic reaction to something they served. Even with this she said it was really good and had a lot of fun. Just be ware of allergies."

  • "Server made a horrible wine recommendation. They should have comp'd us the bottle. Instead we got a $3 dessert :-( The noise was too loud, not conducive for conversation. The food was good."

  • "This is a nice spacious dining room which is not the norm for NYC. The menu is very unique and when you are dining there you have to try the various sausage offerings. We loved the Thai version. Entrees were very unique and were really good."

  • "Winners among what we tried: beaujolais sausage, roasted beets (really excellent even if you're not a HUGE beet fan), cherry beer sundae, steak tartare, charcuterie. Also the bread is really fantastic. Top-notch creative food in a relaxed environment. Music is loud but reasonably so. AC can get high in the back, bring a sweater!"

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful meal and service. The one order got confused and was served the beef instead of the lamb - but the diner thoroughly enjoyed the change. I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend to to all foodies! And non foodies"

  • "I've come here often for lunch meetings as it is near my office, but this was my first visit for dinner. the pre-fixe menu is such a great option. one of our party was a vegetarian and the waitress and kitchen were very accommodating to her meal requests from the start. Everyone in the group had a delicious meal, cocktails, wine & desserts. another wonderful experience."

  • "Both the bar staff and servers were knowledgable about the extensive drinks menu. The waiter was honest about portions and helped us order just the right amount of food to share. We were sharing a burger and they brought it to us cut in quarters which saved us untold amounts of mess. All of the food was delicious and memorable."

  • "Had a very early reservation, seated a few min late; staff was still having their meeting prior to the evening rush. Food was very fresh and tasty, had the Petite Plateau raw seafood plate for 2, salad and a double sausage dish. Our server was wonderful, very attentive. Our seafood and salad came out almost immediately, then we waited an inordinately long time for our sausage dishes to come out - apparently there was some mishap/mixup in the kitchen. Our server and the manager came over and apologized twice for the wait - then sent us a side of broccoli and ramps, and also a dessert - gratis... We did appreciate that very much. Would come back and try more of the dishes."

  • "We, six of us, sat outside as it was too cold (heavy AC) and noisy inside. Service was excellent, burgers and sausages were great, wine list was decent (have not seen Cornalin on a wine list very often). Overall a good experience. Will definitely go back sometime."

  • "The bartender and hostess were accommodating, low pressure, and lovely. The ambience was interesting, in a good way, and I loved seeing the pots of famous chefs around the room. On my reservation, I noted that one of the participants was gluten free, which was not acknowledged by anyone. Our server, although pleasant enough, was clueless about everything. She did not understand "gluten free," regardless of how many times we tried to explain. As it turned out, the dressing for the salad I ordered had gluten in it, and the only other option was oil and vinegar without herbs. If we wanted water or a drink we had to literally wave our hands around because eye contact was not an option. Overall, a disappointing experience."

  • "Arrived for a 7:45 reservation. Was told table was not ready so took one of the many open tables in the bar area. Took a while for waiter to arrive - when he did he finally took our drink order. Meanwhile several other parties arrived. They were all served their entrees before our appetizers arrived. Waiter apologized when appetizers finally came out saying "there was a problem in the kitchen." Even with this warning, our entrees did not come out for 30 mins more. This placed used to be spot on, but seems a bit tired now. Food just ok. Service mediocre. It was Father's Day so there were some big parties with kids, which made noise level pretty bad. Overall unpleasant."

  • "The service and the food never disappoint. My fourth time to eat there and I've tried brunch, lunch and diviner. I like the chop chop salad, fried calamari, steak tartare, croque monsieur, the piggy burger, the salmon, and the baked Alaska."

  • "The first thing you notice when you walk in is the friendly host. The fab industrial decor - Our waiter Thomas gets 10 out of 10. We changed our order after looking at other dishes coming to other tables and it wasn't a problem. We couldn't decide what we wanted from a diverse menu - daily prefix to the regular prefix and the main etc. It was my first time and i will be back for the Whole Hog. We had Fluke Ceviche/Sausage/Seafood platter which had Periwinkles and Welk which you don't find everywhere. The staff here have genuine personalities and obviously love what they do. That's a key on top of the amazing food and service. Check out the beer/cider/wines/Champagnes/Sparklings. Ask to be seated at Thomas' table."

  • "This is my second time here and I enjoyed the food even more this time round. The sausage dishes were wonderful and interesting. We were a group of 4 who came here on my recommendation and DBGB did not disappoint. Portions were just right and presentation of the food was unpretentious. Would definitely come here again if I'm in town."

  • "Very lively spot, especially weeknights, but the food, for me, is the reason to go. I also greatly appreciate that the servers try to be so accommodating. The most "informal" of the Boulud empire is still head and shoulders above most else. Definitely recommend it."
