There were 6 of us. Went there for a very early dinner before the show, 5pm. The food was very good, everyone was happy with their choices. The service was terrible. First it took the waiter a long time to take our order. Then everyone got their appetizer except for 1 person. We kept reminding the waiter that we had a show to catch. Finally he got his food. Then another waiter showed up and told us that the food was on its way. It wasn't...We almost missed our show. And it was very early, i wonder how long it takes for an 8 'clock meal.

This was the second time we had visited here when we came down to the city - food was excellent. Servers are constantly available and responsive and lively! Inventive ways to serve calssic and new twists on your favorite sausages. Vermont was bursting with cheddar cheese and tasty. Calamari was unlike that served in Boston, for example, but bursting with flavor. Even vegetable sides were excellent. Beer list was extensive and easy to choose from with excellent results. Would come again.

Came to DGBG for saturday brunch - hadnt been to place in a while as I live in the neighborhood and there are so many brunch options. For a sausage/beer restaurant, the legendary boulud service wasnt what i expected. This is not DB Bistro Moderne, for sure. I made a joke that didnt crack a smile to my server "the americano was so good, i had to order it twice" - nothing but dead air.

Great place for a downtown location and we did enjoy some of the appetizer selections but we struggled with the service. I had seen others comment on this before we went but decided to go anyway based on a recommendation from a friend. It can be an enjoyable meal but don't count on an above average service experience. The wait staff seems rushed. That said, the menu is interesting enough to give it a try.

Food beyond expectations - delicious, beautifully presented, original combinations, wines perfectly harmonized (cannot tell about beer for I'm not a beer person), deserts just delightful. Service excellent for it is on the spot when needed but never intrusive. The sitting very comfortable and the decoration very elegant, classy but most welcoming .

Been here several times for dinner, first brunch. Walk in, empty Sat. Check in, hostess says we have to wait for our entire party to arrive before seating (clearly a sign of the "self important" restaurant). "Seriously, this place is completely empty..." so she seats us. Food is pricey for what you get, prob to carry numerous staff and large space. Some food is undercooked. Takes a while to have it replaced, not because of a slow kitchen, but because the staff is busy chit-chatting with each other. There are def better brunch places in NYC, but this place can accommodate a large group on short notice.

Food was fabulous as always but we had a group of 8 and horrendous Srvc. Our waiter changed twice early on, once food arrived he disappeared. He came to pick up our plates, we had a late friend arrive and was told kitchen was closed- we had not yet ordered dessert. He took our dessert order and when it came time for the bill a waitress appeared, apparently it was shift change!! We spent over $300 for brunch and the service was poor, very disappointed. May not return for a while. :(

I brought friends from France & Montreal and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The bar was a great place for a drink prior to dinner and some people watching. I love the design and intensity of the main dining room at DBGB and wanted them to experience it. I always find DBGB an exciting place to eat in terms of food and ambience and this trip was no different. We had great food (burger, charcuterie, sausages) and a large format tripel - all were awesome. Another great meal - I will certainly be back.

I can't remember the last time I refused to leave a tip due to poor service. Every course was slow (how long does it take to plate a salad?) Granted it was prime time when we arrived (9:45 on a Friday night) but even the waiter started making excuses after we had waited over an hour. He started hovering (there were very few other people left in the restaurant) When the meals finally arrived only 3 out 4 showed up. The waiter was standing right there and didn't notice that the servers had neglected one of our party. H looked totally confused. Went back to the kitchen and said "your burger will be right out". 20 minutes later the rest of us were pretty much finished our meals. The manager came over and offered us take out.

we've been here twice in the last several weeks, ordered multiple apps, cocktails, wine and different mains. the food is consistently good, and the service is also attentive. the second time we obviously had a waiter who was very green, but we noticed right away that where he forgot to check in on our drinks, or explain certain specifics, the management picked up his slack. it's like they knew they might need to give extra attention to his tables until he learned the ropes. i thought that was fantastic. they were a little late in seating us for our reservation, but i didn't think that was the end of the world. we had a drink at the bar with our friends while we waited (bartender waited on us immediately, cocktails were well-made).

Our waiter helped my husband pick out a local beer and brought us each a taste of beer and wine we were contemplating unsolicited. She made insightful recommendations on our order to help us round out a nice balanced meal. The table for two was CLOSE to the other tables on either side - in the way they are in Manhattan - but for larger parties you could ask for a cozy booth. The noise level was so loud you could barely hear your dining partner speaking so good for foodie couple but maybe not for a first date, older people or friends wanting to catch up. Everything we ordered was amazingly good - the beets were divine, we loved the sausage, and the cavatelli with GENEROUS black truffle shavings were perfect. Make sure you make reservations!

  • OK Food - Fries taste of McDonalds

Decor is really cool, but started to wonder if it is pretentious to have a piece of cookware from famous chefs lining the top of the shelves. It's a bit show-offy. Ordered the prix fixe and each had the tomato and goat cheese app. Very good. Had The Frenchie, med rare. It came out very rare, but I was ok with it because it had a nice char. It was good burger, but no where near worth the $19 price had I gotten off the regular menu. The thing that got me is that the French Fries tasted exactly, and I mean EXACTLY, like McDonald's French Fries. If this is on purpose - WHY? dessert was good - blueberry/coconut sundae. Service was fantastic. Wouldn't go back or recommend. Too many other solid options in the area.

Outstanding experience here. Super friendly host, waitress, and sommilier. Food was everything that you would expect from a Daniel Boulud restaurant. Try the raw bar for an appetizer and the braised beef or chickpea cavatelli for an entree. The wine and craft beer lists were fantastic and staff was more than helpful with recommendations. Would reccomend for a group, a couple or some serious foodies. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.

I had dinner at DBGB on a Friday night. The place was packed. I appreciate food and good service over trendiness and this is where DBGB fell a little short. The charcuterie appetizer was fairly good. I'm not usually one to eat meat in gelatin, but it was an interesting change of pace. What I didn't appreciate was that the dish was brought out by a busboy who couldn't speak well and his mumbled run through of the offerings left me unsure of what I was eating. The entree of the black Angus beef, was only decent. The brisket portion, was well cooked, but bland. Finally, the wines on offer are either not great or overly expensive. Anything in the fifty dollar range was not worth getting and were all available for about ten bucks.

I was visiting my kids who live in Manhattan and thought to make this a special occasion, so looked up this trendy restaurant in their neighborhood. The chef/owner is so well-known and recommended. However, the waitress was pushy, wanting us to order and out asap, not suggesting items exactly, but pushing them. Not a relaxing experience. The LOUD ambiance was so challenging, I couldn't even taste my food, which was probably very good. I will not be recommending this restaurant and neither will the young trendy couple with me. No reason for the food to be good in such a place. I spent so much money, and what a waste!

DBGB was great, the only let down was the Fried Calamari (It was served in a huge clump, the batter was all stuck together and honestly there was no calamari in there, only onions and peppers!). The other no no was the so called Cod. Usually when you order cod it is a decent portion but this looked like a frozen tilapia filet I can buy at Costco. It tasted fishy and didn't look appealing, mind you this entree dish was already $30 and up. I do recommend the charcuterie plate, steak frites and the sausages (Chorizo, Pork and Cheddar, and the Blood sausage). The dessert is also a must! I had the Blueberry Coconut Ice Cream and the Grand Marnier Souffle (a little too strong with alcohol for my taste). But it was good.

The portions in themselves left a lot to be desired. The sausages are not served as links but a link cut into 3 coins. there was only one. We were disappointed in the appetizer size portions of all items. Our white cosmos were scrumptious and also tiny. For the price of our meal and the small size of the food we will not be going back.

DBGB is is nicely decorated restaurant with a bar area and tables upfront and a more intimate restaurant area in the back with table and booth settings. The menu selection dominated by steak/burger house items plus a few other options ( fish, duck and chicken) but it is obvious the concentration is on meat/sausage type dishes. Very solid wine and beer list. Well trained and attentive service. The short rib dish was excellent and the burgers looked very good.

Visited last Sunday with my wife, parents in-law & 2 of their friends. We had made a reservation about 2 weeks previously. When we sat down we were told that the restaurant had no running water. No coffee could be made and the restrooms were out of service. Carafes of coffee were being arranged from a nearby coffee shop. Food was available so we decided to stay as we had travelled somewhat far. Food was great. The French toast was was excellent, the Boucheron very filling and the waffles were delicious too. We did have very refreshing Bellinis. My disappointment was that no adjustment was made to the bill for limited coffee and no restroom availability. Thankfully we found a Starbucks nearby to meet both requirements
