A pleasant setting, although a little unwelcoming. Both diners had the burger, which was tasty. The chocolate fondant was rather good! Unfortunately the whole thing was let down by the lacklustre service - we had a waiter who had the personality of a tombstone crossed with the presence of Learch.

The ambience was great and the food delicious. My wife had the risotto and insists that it is the best she has ever had. I had a succulent duck confit. While the host was very polite and went out of his way to make us feel welcome our waitress was at best inattentive and at worst quite rude. I would not return.

We enjoyed a late dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full with a great buzz that comes from people enjoying food and ambiance. Attentive service, great food, a very good wine recommendation from our waiter and the overall atmosphere all contributed to a very memorable evening. We will definitely come again. Highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here before the theater this past weekend. We were warmly greeted by staff as we entered the restaurant. Our table in the back room was very comfortable and the wait staff were very professional. The food was delicious, my husband had the escargot and steak and I had the coq au vin all excellent, We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining. It will be on the top of our theater district list.

DB bistro is well situated in the theater district. Perfect location for before or after show meals. We had pumpkin crostini witch was almost tasteless. Next she had a beet salad that was fresh and well constructed I had the escargot and I must say it was delicious . As a main I had the burger witch was stuffed with froie gras and braised short ribs although cooked to perfection I was left underwhelmed. She had the ravioli I think the waiter should have mentioned that you only get ONE raviolo for $48! although rich and tasty as it was it left plenty of room for dessert and what a dessert it was we shared the VACHERIN Ginger Ice Cream, Granny Smith Apple Sorbet,Toasted Rice Chantilly, Champagne Gelée it was spectacular, not too sweet and very tasty. overall for the money I cant recommend DB bistro hope this helps someone WJH OH yes service was above average and dinning room was small.

We have dined here several times over the last ten years. The bread was fresh and crusty, the burger outstanding other dishes equally so. After our pre- theater meal a few nights ago, I wonder what happened. The bread, shaped like mini baguettes was cold and stale. The olive bread was fresher, if you like olive bread. The burger had lost some of its flavor, although the accompanying fries were crisp and delicious. The coq au vin was barely mimiwarm, the chicken very dry and needed every morsel of the tasty sauce. I was asked on several occasions how I enjoyed the food and replied similarly to the above. Each server did offer to replace my coq meal but I declined, due to time constraints and lack of confidence that the replacement would be any better. It must be noted that the service was exemplary; the deletion of the coq au vin from the bill an example of a well- trained staff.

  • Good dinner with out-of-towners but slow service

We took two guests from out of town, for a 7:30 seating on a mid-week evening. Overall we had a good experience, but with some room for improvement. Menu choices were appealing, food was tasty. Wine selection was focused on French, but short on affordable options, and few American reds. Service was friendly, but extremely slow. The restaurant was busy, but we arrived after the theater crowd had left and it still took almost 45 minutes to place our order.

Nice decor, the service tried but have perfected the art of not looking at you when you need something. Not of the same standard of sud and kitchen - of which I am a big fan. Tried the famous burger - it was okay but served at room temperature. Fries were perfect. Will never go back.

From entering the bar to finishing your meal, the service, ambiance and food all combined to create a lovely evening fro my wife and I. Not hurried, but not too slow, with thoughtful touches (like bringing the dish we were sharing already divided for ease of dining). And lovely wines too!

I've been to the restaurant several times and the food is always delicious. We were seated right away and the waiter didn't hover over us but was attentive without being intrusive. I didn't think the food prices were overly high (mostly NYC prices) but it's the food that I always return for. One note, though - before we'd always get little dessert bites included for free at the end of the meal but they weren't there this time. I hope that was merely an oversight and not something they've eliminated.

The food we had at db Bistro Moderne was brilliant, the combination of flavours was exceptional and the quality of the cooking matched too. The ambiance was good, a real vibrant feel and enough noise to make it feel lively without being unable to be heard across the table. The service though, and more the knowledge of the staff needs a little work. The waiters and waitresses were very polite and friendly but when asking questions about the food and wine menus the answers were quite vague. All in all a great meal and I'd happily go back.

It looked NOTHING like the pictures shown on the web. Very disappointed! In addition they couldn't find our reservation.

been here twice each time the food was just terrific... roasted bone marrow was yummy and the charcuterie plate was great ... delicious beaujolais ... and the cannaroli risotto special with white truffle was delicious. Service was outstanding, the staff had to deal with an incredibly rude and obnoxious guest who was absolutely out of line ranting in his delightful zip up track suit... anyway they dealt with him masterfully - this is a very experienced crew and the service shows that...
