Experience the new db bistro moderne! Chef Daniel Boulud's contemporary French bistro has undergone a complete renovation. With the addition of a handsome new cocktail bar, and a newly-crafted menu db bistro serves updated bistro classics with a modern twist and market-driven French-American cuisine.

Located one block East of Times Square, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast 'L'Express' of cappuccino and viennoisserie at the bar. A $48 pre-theater prix-fixe dinner menu is available in addition to a full a la care menu. The Lunch Prix Fixe menu will have you back to your desk of off to a matinee quickly and affordably.

DB is happy to host large parties and private events from 14-165 guests.

  • "The service was excellent. Appetizer salad of Maine Lobster Claw over greens was refreshing and tasty. Pre-dinner cocktails were varied in choice and well mixed and presented. Perfect wine list to match all menu items. Risotto amuse bouche made me wish I had ordered the risotto. Lamb was perfectly cooked and served with a variety of tastes on the plate so no two bites were ever the same. Dessert was the only stumble. Chocolate Macadamia dessert was fine but seemed a little one dimensional after the main. Serviceable but not exceptional latte."

We lived in Basel, Switzerland - next to the Alsace region of France and so were very excited to see the tarte flambe on the menu - which we of course, ordered! It was wonderful! My international firm is near this restaurant and so I will be coming here quite often and look forward to hosting a private event at your restaurant as well."

Food was terrific - we all had something different but all choices were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Dining room is small but comfortable, and was buzzing during our lunch but we were still able to have a good conversation. I chose the hangar steak, which was so tender you could cut it with a knife. Service was very attentive."

  • "I always wanted to try the hamburger. It was very good. The short ribs inside were very tender and I loved the fois gras. The steak tartare was also delicious. The onion and cheese flatbread was also good. The wine was great. The coq au vin and duck confit were also ordered and everyone enjoyed their meal. Even though I usually don't like orange flavored things, the dessert with the orange marshmallows was delicious I cannot speak for the bar scene because we were there for an early dinner following a show."

  • "Daniel Boulud is one of my favorite chefs...so I had no hesitation trying db Bistro. We went for a pre theater dinner and were not disappointed. All the food that came was delicious. From the appetizer to dessert. Not a touristy spot like most Times Sq places. Food was well above average but not as stellar as some of his other spots. But saying that is still a huge complement, since other Daniel spots are among the best ever. I would definitely recommend the Pre-Fix menu for a wonderful Pre Theater dinner."

  • "Although we had made a reservation a week in advance, we were seated by the front door, witness to all comings and goings. Our unshaven waiter looked and acted like he had just rolled out of bed. He offered the minimum. That aside, the food was excellent for three out of four of us. The fourth got a bland pasta dish. The wine list seemed extremely priced. We made it to our show without a problem. Yes, there was a price fixe menu that was reasonably priced. We wanted to try other things, as it was our first visit. No complaints about the food, but the rest of the experience offered no reason for returning."

  • "I had dinner with a friend this past weekend. I was a disappointed with my dinner & my friend remarked that the food was just average. The service, on the other hand, was outstanding. Our waiter & all the other wait staff were gracious & excellent. The little freebies were a very nice touch. Because this is a Daniel Boulard restaurant, I expected more. My hanger steak was OK but the polenta that came with the dish had no flavor at all. Also $10.00 for asparagus (with very few tips) was overpriced. My friend had the pasta & shrimp. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente & the sauce was very good with a hint of orange but the shrimp was overcooked & rubbery. Not impressed with this restauant and probably will not go back."

THe food was quite good especially the skirt steak that my wife had and the rosti potatoes that came along with my chicken. It appeared that the prix fixed dinner specials would have been excellent choices but we were in the mood for other things. That Charcuterie Plate was outstanding but a little light on cornichons. The only two things that we think could have enhanced the evening were that tables were to close together and the noise level was way too high. Recommend for pre theatre anytime."

  • "Hostess tried to sit my wife (who walked in before me) at table next to waiter station on the lower level. She was seated in the upper level after objection. Lobster appetizer delicious with plenty of lobster-greens bitter, fried artichokes overcooked and a few tiny pieces of hearts of palm. Extra dressing to mask bitterness. Melon appetizer w/ham excellent-portion could have been larger. Pom frites delicious. Hanger steak very good, except for a few overcooked ends. The substituted vegetable, asparagus, were served with one piece of the tip and the rest ends. Pork Belly with risotto was very good, but once again three small pieces was small for an entre order. The experience should have been better for $140 before the tip."

  • "Had a great dining experience At first we were not happy about sitting in the front which was quite noisy. We asked to be moved, at first they could not, when we told them we had an 8pm show, they said they could. We opted to stay put,and were very glad we did. The waiter and his staff were excellent, and gracious. We sat at 5:45, and were not rushed in any way. Food was outstanding, tuna tartare, shrimp pasta in a tomato, basil and lemon sauce was perfect with al dente pasta, veal angolotti were wonderful, the veal stock underneath was hearty but delicate. dessert was a winner. A dark chocolate shell, chocolate inside, surrounded by a delicate airy whipped coffee cream and orange marshmallows accented with coffee crumbs."

Everything that we ordered was well prepared and presented. The wait staff was very attentive. Deserts were presented very nicely and tasted great. Herbal ice tea was very good and it was hard to believe that there was no sweetener in it."
