We have been to DB many times and it has always been great. The service is A+. Waiters are extremely professional and courteous . We had three excellent appetizers.. Tuna Tartare that can be shared, smoked salmon that was wonderful. We had the DB hamburger that was cut in thirds for us.. Excellent! We were three women coming from a show at 9 so we didn't want to overeat! Recommend at any time to have a glorious meal.Another great thing about DB... The noise level 0.. We could have a conversation. Recommend DB for lunch or dinner.

The service and food were both was excellent. They have a solid selection of wines by the glass. We had a 5:30 reservation and our show was starting at 7. We never felt we had to impress our timing upon our server. Our food and drinks arrived in a very timely manor and we arrived at the show on time. All around it was a great experience.

Went to db for maybe the seventh time, but noticed a change in the service level. The food is excellent, but it was served before the wine and we had to ask to get the glasses refilled from our bottle. The menu was much shorter than we remembered, because we went on a Sunday evening?

My wife and I split their famous hamburger, not because it was priced $35, but because we are not big eaters. It was Ok, but no better the hamburger at a local suburban cafe we frequent. Also, we each ordered Ketel One on the rocks. Here the price threw me for a loop - $17, and the drink was only moderate-sized. My wife tried to tell me that I must make allowances for the restaurant having to pay NYC rental costs, but I just think it's greedy. On a good note, the service was excellent.

I have dined at DB Cafe many times over the years. I brought my husband for lunch . the brunch menu lacked creativity. example: starter plate of the Charcruterie-very disappointing the plate arrived with 2 pieces of the same course pate (Pate Compagne) disappointing factor: coffee arrived stale and cold- at $4.50 a cup this is disappointing. I did not return my coffee- waiter was too busy - I did not want to be an imposition. I consider myself to be a true foodie- My husband and I travel the world and select to eat in interesting restaurants- casual, diners, haute cuisine, all varieties, all price ranges etc.... and we are always ready to eat exotic cuisines. DB Cafe has not meet it's standard this time around.

We were there for brunch on a busy Saturday around noon. The service was thoughtful and attentive without being hovering. The brunch menu is fairly limited, but interesting and beautifully prepared and presented. And delicious.the staff was cognizant of which dishes were gluten free, and consequently able to guide us towards choices that satisfied our needs. Db Bistro Moderne is very convenient to the theater district;I know we will be dining there again and recommend it highly.

Known for its awesome and decadent burger, Chef Brian Loiacono has taken the reigns and lifted the menu into new and worthy heights. With his time well spent at Daniel as well as in Italy, he and his team posses a gentle and seasonal touch with his pasta dishes, as well as their mastery of enhanced French bistro classics have made DB Bistro Moderne into probably, if not definitely, the best in midtown for this type of exceptional fare. A great wine list and attentive and caring service round out the dining experience perfectly. I hope Daniel is proud of what his midtown bistro has become - he should be!

I've been to db a few times...always warm, friendly and unpretentious. Food is delicious and reasonable, service attentive, and it is convenient to the train. We shared the Alsatian tart with cocktails...paper thin and tasty. My friend had the duck breast and I had the hanger steak and frites and we each had an 8 oz glass of wine (not so reasonable, but good). A perfect way to end our day trip to NYC.

It was billed as foie gras en croute but was really a country pate. I've had wonderful country pates but this was not one of them. It seemed like it had spent way too much time in the refrigerator. The pastry was cold and hard and the pate had so little flavor, I asked for Dijon mustard to make it edible. On the positive side, my husband's pumpkin soup was delicious but it was followed by a very ordinary smoked salmon with bagel chips. I've bought better from a regular supermarket. The service was stellar but the food horribly disappointing.

The appetizers were out in less than 5 minutes. Probably prepared ahead of time, and kept in the fridge. Worst, the main dish arrive even before the plates from the appetizers were removed from the table! Felt very much rushed. They should take less reservations, and take it easy on speed! Such a contrast compared to Daniel, which is a great experience, or DB from Miami; another very pleasant place.

I had not been since they re-decorated and I was a little disappointed with the results. First, something about it makes it look like a hotel breakfast spot; something about those booths and the ceiling lights...also, the food is more expensive and not as refined or as adventuresome as before. Still, the food was good. We were driven a little crazy by the staff asking us every 5 minutes (no lie), do you like it? How was the salad? etc- I sound grumpy but really, they overdid it. We were asked no fewer than 10 times.

Shortly after DB remodeled, we ate there and were disappointed; this time we had a much better experience. I had asked not to be seated in the walkthrough as we were before. Although an attempt was made to seat us there this time, we asked for another table and received one. The service was a definite improvement: efficient and available when needed. The food is good, not great, but certainly adequate. The many suits both male and female who walk the room constantly seem to serve no purpose--except to be obvious. I'm sure when we are in the neighborhood we will dine at DB again.

food was fine though not particularly inspirational. mushroom risotto was a little overwhelmed with cheese while the squid ink pasta had a delicious briny flavor and was appropriately al dente. Duck confit was well-cooked, maybe too well cooked as the juicy flavor of the rendered duck fat was totally missing.
