  • "We enjoyed our meal here - we're suckers for the whole package, decor, food, service. The service was friendly and helpful, the decor was modern and stylish, and the food was great. I had the coq au vin which was superb, and my husband had the burger which despite being tasty, he thought it may have been better served as one burger rather than two sliders (too much bun). We had the tasting plate for dessert, four different dishes on one plate - it was incredible! The wine list was nice although my husband had beer and I had wine by the glass. Would definitely go again."

  • "we ate at db bistro in NYC and enjoyed it very much. this time in Miami we triad different dishes and we loved each on of them. the duck pate was delicious and beautifully presented. my husband had the fish spacial and i had the bacon wrapped monkfish both were amazing in taste and creativity. for dessert we where debating if to take their take on lemon pie or their take on apple strudel. they surprised us and because we celebrated our 30th anniversary they gave us both desserts on the house. another great touch to already very amazing experience and a delightful meal ."

  • "Our 1st visit to dbBistro in JWMarriott Marquis downtown Miami was memorable & made it worthy of repeating. It was late nite (following a disappointing HEAT game) and we had only appetizers, soup & salad each of which was interesting, unique, tasty & very fresh - root vegetables soup (silky smooth & very flavorful), a salad of vegetables artfully seasoned in base of light cheese w/mustard seeds and at the top of these exquisite epicurean delights was a delicious shaved scallop dish beautifully presented in light oils w/ crispy salmon topping - sublime to the palate. Definitely repeat worthy!"

  • "We were attracted by the moderately priced prix fixe offering of four courses with accompanying wine flight and had eaten at Bistro Moderne before, so knew to expect good food and service. We were not disappointed. From the amuse bouche to the last bite of the tantalyzing dessert, it was delightful and served by a knowledgeable and attentive waiter (Allan). The restaurant is within a five minute walk from our apartment, so we will definitely be back."

  • "Went for dinner for a night out with old friends. The service was quite rushed and if not for clarifiying an order; server was pushing to order the $75 risotto not the $45 which we felt was on purpose. Also, ordered 1 type of vodka and was brough a more expensive one; said he would fix it and didn't. Was clearing plates before we were finished. I understand it was prob the last reservation but when spending $400 don't push us out of the place regardless. Food was overall very good and dessert delicious."

  • "A luscious hamburger where the bun was slathered with dijon mustard in the kitchen preventing any burger or foie gras or truffle flavor to come through. I do think someone screwed up. Fries were good but not amazing. My husband enjoyed the duck but it was not Peking style, maybe Pekin which is different and refers more to the breed not the style of cooking?"

  • "We loved the attention to detail and the uniqueness of the menu. The perky toe crab appetizer is unlike any other I've ever had -- beautiful to look at and delicious to eat! And the stone crabs were abundant and wonderfully prepared and presented. The wines were excellent quality and the desserts were an awesome bunch!!!"

  • "We have celebrated our birthdays at db for a few years and considered it our "special" place. Everything was always outstanding. But not this time. The smoked salmon appetizer was not what we expected based on the menu and server description. Our mahi entree was a bit dry and not very flavorful, other than the topping, which was mostly raw onion. Even the tea wrong. we ordered 1 pekoe & 1 jasmine, but they both looked, smelled and tasted the same. we told the server who, instead of immediately replacing it, said " it is jasmine but if you think it is wrong i can change it for you." not the answer we expected. in fact they had sent the wrong tea and eventually replaced it, but the server never fessed up. Not sure we will return next year."

  • "We drive from Key Largo to DB Bistro to have an enjoyable meal before going to listen to the Cleveland Symphony. This is over an hour each way, but is very well worth it. Now, if only the Miami music facility had some way of dealing with all the cars that are trying to go to the same place, at the same time. Oh, well, that's how Miami works .. if anything works, great. Otherwise, forget it."

  • "if you expect a very fine dining restaurant for special occasion, dbbistro might not meet your expectations. this is a bistro, casual atmosphere, placemat instead of table cloth (i prefer nothing to a tiny place mat) the food was wonderful: we had bacon wrapped monkfish and the plate of suckling pig (warmer would be better) surprisingly, desserts are on the sophisticated side. wines are on the good side and expensive."

Expensive but excellent wine list…(few choices under $100). Smoked sturgeon app was unique. Duck breast was tender, juicy, and correct temp. Enjoy a very lovely dinner. (Just pray there are no crying babies like on Sat. night.)"

  • "Was hoping for an exceptional meal and got a good one, probably should have gone to dinner instead of lunch. Very good salmon terrine and panna cotta dessert but both the duck confit and tilefish were dry. Agree with waiter that the meals were good value but I really went there for expectional food and didn't get it. Butter was served at perfect temperature to spread but in a first class restaurant plates shouldn't be served with the warning that they were too hot to touch. Maybe that was why duck and fish were dry."

A friend who eats regularly at Daniel Boulud's NYC restaurants recommended DB Bistro Moderne and since we knew of Daniel and his celebrity chef status, we tried it. It was better than we expected. Sadly for them it was slow that night. A restaurant like that deserves to be packed. The service was attentive, friendly, polite with nice spacing between the courses. My Maine lobster salad and Maple Glazed Duck exceeded expectations and my dessert of Dulce de Leche and Cream Cheese ice creams was very good. My wife enjoyed her food. A little pricey but I would put it up there with some of my favorite fine dining restaurants in New Jersey and NYC."

  • "we are not american. so, when "service" was included in the check, we thought it was some extra tax. when the credit card slip came, the field "tip" was empty - and we thought this confirmed our understanding about the "services" charge. well, in the end, for a less than 160usd expenditure, we ended up tipping almost 70usd. i complained at the hotel, but nothing happened. in my country, this is not an "ok" behavior. i won't return to the restaurant."

  • "We dine here about twice e year as we prepare to take a Caribbean cruise and when we return from the cruise, in preparation for returning to Canada. The food is on a par with what we get in Montreal and Toronto at the best restaurants but it is somewhat less expensive. The service is attentive but low-key and one never feels rushed I highly recommend this restaurant and hope that it keeps up its lofty standards."
