  • "First of all the food was delicious. Soup, appetizer, entrees, sides: all perfect. And they encourage you to take a smaller portion of the pasta entrees as sides. At the end of the meal they put us though some delightful torture :) by not just trundling the dessert cart over, but taking each plate and showing it to us (we resisted!). Drinks were steeply priced, so don't get too carried away... or at least be forewarned. The odd vibe? Our waiter explained to us what the courses were -- and he didn't just stick to the unusual ones, but included "Insalate -- that's salad... Carni are the meat courses... Pesce is fish..." Really? Oh well, a minor quibble. Excellent overall; just be mindful of your wallet if you're drinking."

  • "This was my first meal here although I've gone many times for Happy Hour. During Happy Hour at the bar you also get so e great FREE heavy appetizers. I planned the spot to conduct an interview for lunch and it was the perfect spot for this type of lunch. The tomato soup was especially good."

  • "Stayed in Philly overnight (Sofitel) and made the reservation online at 4:45 for a 5:45 dinner. Arrived, my wife's coat was taken and we were immediately seated at our table. The first thing I noticed was how expansive the dinning room is, white linen tables, everything clean and pressed. The wait staff (2) were very attentive and gave good suggestions. The restaurant has an expansive menu and I ordered the veal chop/potatoes and my wife had scallops and asparagus risotto, both were very good. The restaurant was loud and not the type of place for a quiet romantic dinner, but would be a good place for a group dinner. The restaurant is on the expensive side our bill was approx. $180.00 without tip. I would return for a special dinner."

  • "We dined here on a Thursday night. The bar was quite busy and a business group had an event at the other end of the restaurant - neither of which had any direct impact on our dining experience. When we were seated, our server - Michael, welcomed us by name. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive. In fact, there were numerous servers readily available, without being pushy. The wine list was good. We shared a fantastic (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) appetizer of 4 Philly Cheese Steak Spring rolls (they prepared a plate for each of us). For entree's we enjoyed the Chef's recommendation grilled pork chop and the sirloin steak. Both generous portions and perfectly prepared. Coffee and smaller dessert sizes provided a delicious conclusion to our meal."

  • "Davio’s was the choice for birthday dinner #2 and it was great! The ambience of the dining room is very classic and elegant. We had the buffalo chicken rolls, calamari, chicken livers and the beet and blood orange salad to start. Entrees were Veal Chop, Short Rib, Scallops and Gnocchi and the Bolognese. All were delicious and very enjoyable. Dessert was carrot cake and the affogato – again, very delicious. Service was great and we had a very enjoyable birthday evening at Davio’s. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a delightful and elegantly indulgent night out!! The big club chairs by the bar are uber comfy and they also serve my favorite cider Magner’s in both apple and pear so that is a definite plus!"

  • "Steaks were very good. Crab cakes were good. Tagliatelle was only ok. Desserts, chocolate molten cake very good, creme brulee very good, carrot cake was good. Service, had to chase down second round of drinks after 15 minutes, asked why they were late, they said the server forgot to put them in, we refused to pay for them and they obliged. Wine, please do not ever bring a different vintage of the wine ordered and brush it off like it does not matter, it does and you should know that. When you have to offer a different vintage, acknowledge your position and offer some courtesy discount. Overall, price point is high, service was up and down, food was good not great. Probably our last time with all the other choices around."

  • "I have been to Davio's many times over the years and it never ceases to amaze. You are warmly greeted and promptly seated. The room is large which can be a problem if there are only a few guests. Instead, the room was full with everyone having what appeared to a great time. Nice atmosphere for dinner! Our waiter was over to see us in minutes asking what we would like to drink. My wife had the beef carpaccio to start and it melted in our mouths and had such flavor that I would highly recommend it. I had the calamari, which was tender and spicy - just the way I like it. I don't recall what my wife had as an entree since I was so focused on my ribeye, which was a fine cut of meat, perfectly cooked. Just a great experience all around."

  • "From the moment you are in you are enveloped in warm and attentive service. The waiters are good humored, interested, helpful ready to accommodate or advise as desired. The meats are impeccable and perfectly cooked, the sides are simple, perfect, tasty, and the desserts are lush and classic with just the right amount of updating. The wine they recommended above my initial choice was half the price and twice as good. That rarely happens anywhere else. These guys look out for you. The steaks are great, the veal chop melts in your mouth and the fish is as good as any I've ever had. The grilled vegetables were a revelation. Oh, and the cocktails were inventive and made with the best ingredients. They will not let you leave unhappy."

They clearly enjoyed their jobs&made it their task to be sure we were well taken care of&enjoyed our meals.Service was polished &professional,not ntrusive.Dinner was served at a comfortable pace-we were not rushed at all-as some restaurants do to turn tables.The wine steward provided helpful suggestions when choosing a wine.The food was delicious- well prepared&attractively plated. We will certainly make Davio's a "must visit" restaurant on our next trip to Phila.When our waiter was asked to provide a "to go" container for the complimentary cookies provided at the end of the meal,he cheerfully did so&provided extras for all to enjoy."

  • "Arranged a dinner for myself and 2 other couples who were visiting from out of town. While waiting for them at the bar, we were given a variety of snacks (french fries, pizza slices) to have with our cocktails. When our friends arrived, we were seated at a great round table and had 2 waitstaff ready to assist us in our dining experience. The appetizers and drinks were excellent, and the entrees were equal to the task. I asked for a dish that I made up of two of the appetizers that was put together without any hems or haws. It was delicious and was exactly what I wanted. There was no issue that they or the chef couldn't or wouldn't do it. They just did it. I was very impressed. The service was great, and no one waited for anything."

Italian classics as well as some new ideas and combinations for the adventureous ones. A tried and true place that will not dissapoint, however it is pricy so be prepared for a more expensive meal."

  • "Never mind that the gnocchi literally melted on our mouths and I'd have considered divorcing my husband if he'd eaten that last bite. Nor the bottle of wine, given to us for a discounted price by the sommelier after he'd treated us to a mini course on wine appreciation, that paired perfectly with both the short ribs and scallops and just got better as the night wore on. And the molten lava cake, decorated for Valentine's Day because we'd told them we were celebrating it even though the holiday was still a week away, accompanied by complimentary glasses of port (again, perfectly paired). But the service we received from three different attendants, each friendlier than the next and clearly enjoyed their jobs, is what I'll remember the most."

  • "We have been to this restaurant four years in a row. We arrived early there were at least ten tables open including two toppers. The ugly snippy little hostess for two years in a row told us there we tons if reservations before us we could eat at If it wasn't for the same waiter manager it could have been a complete bomb!! He remembered that I owned businesses and what they were and that he had seen me for the last three years. He is an asset to this organization but the nepotistic little twit at the front needs manners!!! She could have said things a lot more politely!!! The steak and lamb were amazing but FYI if you are an Italian steak house garlic dies not belong on everything especially not a blob on the steak plate!!!!!"

  • "My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. Perfection is the way I would describe the experience at Davio's. Everything was perfect for the entire evening. We had a very nice private table. The service was outstanding, as was the food. In short, it was everything we could have hoped for in an anniversary celebration. Thank you to everyone at Davio's!!
