  • "I took my girlfriend here before prom, and it was absolutely fantastic :) Everything about Davinci's is amazing."

  • "Ample bar and loud live music. Food was ok but lacked real flavor. Service was friendly and helpful."

  • "Chose the restaurant from online reviews. Walked into to a really unique, classy, beautifully done restaurant. The bar is stunning. Delicious meal with a great wine. Couldn't be closer to the Elsinore Theater where we were going. Will be back!"

  • "I had the Risotto with crab and it tasted pasty and the crab was fishy tasting I couldn't eat it.. My wife was not happy with her dish as well. I was not impressed. It was our anniversary and I wanted to surprise her because the place heard it was good. The salad we split was good. The service was good."

  • "Definitely make a reservation before going, we went on a Friday night and they were busy. We had to wait a minute while our table was being prepared but we were offered a drink while we waited. We ate upstairs, service was excellent, and the flavors of the food were outstanding. A definite must try place when in Salem!"

  • "Awesome. Perfect example what a local business should be. And why the word should spread so they are with us for a long time!"

  • "Wine list was arranged in a strange way that made it difficult to find our favorites, and then there was only one sauvignon blanc out of perhaps 35 wines. If you're serving lots of seafood, you should have a broad selection of whites. The two dishes we ordered were quite different-sounding on the menu, but they arrived looking like nearly identical haystacks of scallops, 4 different vegetables, shrimp and cream sauce. The menu listed mine as in olive oil, which would have gone better with the heaviness of the black linguine and mountain of peas, onion, asparagus, and tomato. On the bright side, we enjoyed the classics played by the pianist- he was excellent."

  • "We were in Salem for a performance of Alvin Ailey II at the Historic Elsinore Theatre. DaVinci's was recommended. It was perfect in all respects - - convenient, as it was next door to the theatre; and the food/service/ambience was excellent. It was a great experience, one I would recommend to all!"

  • "This restaurant is for those that are looking for something different, high quality, cant find anywhere else food! My husband and I love this restaurant for their unique mix of flavors, which we have never tried anywhere else before. The Main Scallops dish is absolutely amazing! I bit more spendy, but totally worth every penny!"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner immensely. My black linguine was studded with sweet scallops and beautiful prawns. The pancetta and peas on it were prepared perfectly. My husband had the cioppino, which had such a plethora of scallops, prawns, salmon, clams and mussels that he could hardly finish it all. The charcuterie plate was beautiful to behold, and covered in wonderful meat and cheese choices. Our cocktails were perfectly mixed, and the wine paired wonderfully with the entrees. The gelato finale was delicious. The server paired a scoop of chocolate orange with a scoop of orange cream, for a lovely dessert we could share. Our visit was the highlight of our weekend, and we will make the hour long drive from our home again."

  • "We come here just once a year. The food is always delicious. I don't know why we don't go more often. I think we just save it for special."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Service this visit was very good. The food is always tastey but there is so little of it for the price. $12 salads and $7.50 deserts are also pretty pricy for Salem."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed Valentine's dinner together. While the pianist downstairs was talented, the restaurant was too noisy for conversation, so we moved a chair to the side of our small table in order to be able to hear each other. The wait staff was accommodating in response. Wine was delicious, the sea bass special was fresh and creatively prepared. We felt a bit rushed at the end as someone came to clear our plates before we had quite finished, but overall it was an enjoyable evening."

  • "My husband had not been to your restaurant before so I made reservations for our Valentine's day dinner. He can't stop raving about it. It was delicious and the service was outstanding! Thank you. We will be back often,"

  • "We had a perfect Valentine's Day dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. It helped make for a most memorable Valentine's Day."

  • "My husband brought me to dinner, my first time in your restaurant...The food was wonderful, the young lady that waited on was very attentive and friendly, your place is nice and warm, only one thing I can think is that the seating needs to be not so crowded for a more intimate and romantic dinner experience with the one you love.."

  • "Just like the review says, my Italian wife was so impressed with the handmade pasta, the panchette that was authentic to the Italian style moreso than we've had elsewhere, and the wine list contained great favorites, expensive rarities, and a server that knew the pairings like the back of his hand. We had a great day-before-valentine's day, and as we ate, we forgot that we were in Oregon. It was like being in a nice Italian "ristorante." We had the special, which was a seared pork and lobster mac'n cheese, with panchette and two of their cheaper glasses of wine (which didn't taste cheap at all). Also, anyone over 21 and not driving home should order their "Spanish Coffee" which wasn't on their menu, but was amazing. Watch out for sparks!"

  • "Unable to have a conversation. We were seated near the balcony and felt as though we were inside the piano, rather than being able to enjoy the music."

  • "This was my first visit to DaVinci's in a long while (almost 2 years). It won't be nearly so long before I return...it was a wonderful evening with friends and good food. Two things that make life enjoyable! My thanks to the people at DaVinci's restaurant in Salem, Oregon."

  • "Had a truly enjoyable night dining at DaVinci. Food, atmosphere and service were all really good. (Tuna appetizer is great!!) With kids we can only afford/schedule one date night a month, DaVinci's made it worthwhile."

  • "The food was delicious & the decor of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I love all of the brick and the little white lights. The piano player was wonderful and really added to the experience. The service was a little slow but not by fault of the hard working people at the restaurant. Our greeter seemed to also be waiting tables and the bartender was doing double duty as well. Not fair to the employees or the patrons."

  • "Based on comments from previous reviewers we requested a table upstairs which was a perfect distance from the piano to get the benefit of the ambiance yet still have a conversation. Our server was very knowledgeable, prompt, and helpful in modifying the entrees to cater to some special dietary needs. Everyone had positive comments about their food selections. Portion sizing was perfect, allowing just enough room to share a dessert. Mo, the restaurant owner, stopped by to check in with us which is rare in this day and age. Overall, we had a very nice, leisurely dining experience and will look forward to dining there again when in Salem."

  • "Outstanding service, good, fresh food with a few unique twists on classic Italian dishes. Full lively bar with an outstanding blood orange margarita. Very active atmosphere. Reservations a good idea for popular dining nights...looks to fill up despite its good size."

  • "Steaks, pasta and seafood. All are good but not great. Setting is good. Live piano player. Wine list is decent but matches food. But in the end, I did enjoy myself. Third time here so I do come back. Wish there were more options like this place in Oregon. The city needs more."

  • "We had a party of 9 and most of ordered the hangar steak, good choice. One ordered the Crispy Duck Confit which was neither Confit or crispy. We had one young person (13) with us and they had nothing to suit her pallet. Overall a good experience and we would return but would not take children."

  • "Nice room....we arrived early and it was very quiet. The room filled the later it got. Wine list was extensive with good varieties offered and fair prices. The Pinot Grigio we chose was very light and dry, the way we like it. Brussel sprout salad was very tasty. The calzone was well seasoned and delicious. Pizza was likewise well received. Lobster roll was not as good as the rest of the food....too spicy and not enough lobster. We will return to try more menu items. The service was outstanding, the waiter being very personable and helpful."

  • "How many times do you dine out and the pasta is worse than you would find in a can of spaghetti? Luckily, not often. Our bad luck was that this was the night that the pasta was inedible. Nothing more to say."

  • "I had the pleasure of taking my daughter and her boyfriend to DaVinci recently for the first time. The clams and mussels were some of the best we have ever had and everyone enjoyed their entree. Atmosphere is warm with a beautiful bar area and there was live music the evening we were there. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant and had a very attentive waiter."

  • "Although the food is great they had terrible customer service. After an hour of dining the waitress asked us to please leave. We had ordered a bottle of wine and were finishing it. The waitress had not even collected our cards for payment when she said a bigger party needed our table. We were placed downstairs and found a two top table on our own. Five people shared that table while we finished our wine. Then we finally got our cards back and left a terrible tip. We will not be going back. There was no reason to push someone out of a table before they have even paid just to seat a new party. Especially when it was only an hour being there."

  • "Nice ambience, extensive wine list, interesting menu, but the food wasn't quite up to expectations. I'll try Davinci again before making a final judgment."

  • "DaVinci's is a very good Italian restaurant with a modern and adventurous bent. This is not the usual spaghetti and lasagna type of place. The food is interestingly prepared, flavorful and well plated. This is not new, DaVinci's has been consistently great for a number of years. The wine list is also very good, diverse and is not limited to local wines. The only downsides were: they were short-handed on servers that night, and the piano was too loud. Our server was able to get dinner to us so we could make the theater on time. He was well informed about the menu, and answered questions well (we are not meat eaters). The piano music was too loud for comfortable conversation and we were upstairs. The lighting was a little too dark."

  • "Excellent food. Pricing was very good for the very high quality. Can't wait to go back soon. Wife has a birthday coming up and stated while we were eating that she would love to come back to DaVinci for her Birthday dinner I always take her out for."

  • "Walk in the door - cute place for Salem. Only place at the bar was near the piano player - talented guy but plays at top volume AT ALL TIMES. Could not converse with my partner at all. Seated upstairs on balcony - piano still deafening to the point of distraction. Food (spaghetti and meatballs - how could I go wrong?) was INEDIBLE. Pasta was overcooked, sauce astringent and over-seasoned, meatballs oddly sour. The first 3 wines we asked for off the list were unavailable. Waitress was in a hurry to "get to a friends wedding" and rushed us along. Amateur hour - will not return."
