  • "Unbelievable steak and overall experience. Recommendations were spot on and everything was spectacular."

  • "Food was good but too expensive for the overall experience. There have be to be better steak houses in Chicago for less money. Waiter was arrogant and flippant. When the medium priced wine we ordered was unavailable, he suggested a $200 bottle as an alternative! Very noisy."

  • "Everything from the appetizer down to dessert was absolutely delicious!"

  • "Steaks were great but cost was high can't taste the difference between the 55 day old steak and our local steaks at half the price."

  • "The restaurant came highly recommended and it exceeded all expectations. The steaks and side selections were outstanding, came perfectly prepared and had fantastic flavors. The staff were professional, attentive and provided the exact amount of attention without making themselves "part" of the experience. Special mention must be given to our waitress, Jennifer, who provided excellent, excellent service; she's a gem. Would not hesitate recommending the restaurant or returning with clients for any occasion."

  • "Table side Ceasar Salad was excellent! Pre-ordered the cake in a can and was blown away by the taste and freshness. The service was incredible. I will be back!!"

  • "As the number 1 Chicago steakhouse, I was expecting "melt in your mouth" but this restaurant failed."

  • "I dined here Sunday night with my wife and 2 small children. Kids menu allows many "grown-up" options, while on the adult side...the 55 day aged rib-eye is the best steak I've ever had. I felt this way since I've last dined here (3 years ago) and I was a little apprehensive to return as I didn't want to sully the memory. So glad I did come back, the steaks remain top notch and the service walked the line perfectly between attentiveness but not overbearing. The sides are very good, vegetables were rather plain which is fine with me because the steak is the star here. Finished the meal by taking a tour of the room where the beef is aged, which was a great ending to a perfect night!"

  • "Heard about this Resturant on TV. Looked great. Read mixed reviews but decided to try it. Overal we had better $75 meals. Our meal was $210. Will try a different place next time in Chicago and cannot justify recommending this place. Waited 2 years to give it a shot. Much less than expected."

  • "I was in Chicago for the weekend with my significant other and we went to David Burke's Primehouse for dinner. It was Fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant to people wanting a great meal!"

  • "Steak melts in your mouth and the red velvet cake is the moistest I've ever had"

  • "For a restaurant that bills itself as a steak place, I was disappointed. Kansa cut, "aged" was tough. My wife's filet was tasteless. Even more disappointed when I got the check. Service was fantastic."

  • "This was my second time at this restaurant. My experience both times was very consistent. The food is excellent. And the service is phenomenal. The sides and other offerings complement the steak nicely. A very enjoyable dining experience!"

  • "The 75-aged beef was amazing, but the service was even better. The also not-so-common menu items of a tea menu is outstanding."
    Dined on 8/8/2014
  • "I was looking forward to this meal for a long time and it did not disappoint. I expected a good steak but we also had amazing and creative appetizers and desserts. Bravo! I would highly recommend. Of course the 55 day dry aged Ribeye was out of this world."

  • "Our server, Kevin, was great throughout the night. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and not once were we unattended to. The 55 day dry aged ribeye was amazing. It truly was one of the best steaks I've ever had, and I spend a lot of time cooking up dry aged steaks and other fine cuts of meat at home as well as dining out. Our appetizer, which consisted of two giant cocktail shrimp, half of a lobster tail, and a HUGE amount of lump crab meat, was a great start to the meal, as well. The fact that they dry age their own steaks on the premises only adds to the allure for me."

  • "Dry aged steaks are a big deal. Hard to tell much difference from any other prime steaks. Very good sides.perfectly cooked NY strip steak."

  • "Tempura green beans are amazing. Steaks were superb. Declined dessert since we were so full but server decided my husband needed a cake for his birthday. Additionally server brought out fabulous donuts that were nice and hot-add the caramel directly into the donuts and we were hooked."

  • "I ordered a 40 day aged steak and macaroni & cheese as a side. The mac & cheese was about the same quality as you get out of a box. The steak was good but grossly overpriced at $60 for 12 ounces. The waiter was a train wreck. He forgot about us most of the evening, leaving us to repeatedly ask the maitre-d for assistance."

  • "If you are really into steaks, aging processes of meat, and have some $$ to spend - this is the place for you. As often with Burke's restaurants, he takes great pride in his food. This place is totally about the food and service. No extra frills here, don't expect mood lighting or music, it's all about the steak. Took my boyfriend's parents and they enjoyed it tremendously; we all ate till we almost burst! Lots of food for the buck. They also took care of the little one (7yr old picky eater, who actually enjoyed her 3 oz filet mignon!)"

  • "I was very impressed by the attention the staff here paid to our table. Everything was brought out very promptly and cleaned up just as quickly as we were finished. The food was very pleasing as well, although, one of our 2 steaks was over cooked it was still very flavorful. The prices seemed a little steep at first and to be honest even after dinner was over I felt we spent a little much on the food itself. The appetizer of scallops was very small, but made up for the size in flavor. For 2 people including 1 drink each, shared an appetizer, and 2 steaks it cost me $188 plus tip. We were given a free slice of cake in celebration of our first trip out of town alone without our 7 month old child which was nice. Phenomenal waiter!"

  • "I had the 40-day ribeye medium rare as recommended when I typically have my steaks medium rare plus to medium. I'm very happy to say I went with the recommendation because it was superb! One of the best steaks, if not the best steak, I've had. Looking forward to trying the 55-day ribeye next time I'm in Chicago. I highly recommend the restaurant."

  • "We went with a gilt city 5 course prefix meal. It was outstanding."

  • "The 55 day dry aged ribeye was excellent. The bacon sticks were great. The deserts especially the donuts and the ice cream sandwiches were really good. Our waiter was very good at recommending items and how much we needed for our party of 7. Had a great overall experience would highly recommend."

  • "Very good place. Great service and ambience. Steak was great but I would still rate Gibsons bone in ribeye slightly better. Was a little high with the tab as well. I would still rate it top 5 in Chicago that I've been to."

  • "The food was excellent. I will visit here again the next time I am in Chicago."

  • "We went here for brunch and ordered a number of appetizers, which four of us shared. Each item was absolutely delicious. We were so impressed with the food that we made reservations for dinner that same evening. The steak was incredible. So tender and cooked to perfection. The service was equally impressive. I would absolutely recommend and will return anytime I am in Chicago."

  • "I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food...excellent. If I am ever back in Chicago...this will certainly be on my list of places to dine!"
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "We couldn't have been catered to better. Well attended to, but never harassed or over serviced. The menu is not expansive, but is more unique than a regular steakhouse and hits just what is needed. Great atmosphere!"

  • "Service was excellent. However, my 40 day aged ribeye, was grisly. I was surprised considering the price. My buddy had seared tuna. I had a bit, and it was good, but I believe the tuna at Outback Steakhouse was better. Overall good experience, but for the price I was disappointed."

  • "As an older native Chicago resident I have sampled thousands of steaks in restaurants. I even recall a restaurant in the theatre district that allowed sidewalk viewing of their aging meat in the cooler. The dry-cure was what brought me to this restaurant. The steak was so good that I was craving another the very next day. I requested a tour of the drying room. The management was very accommodating in showing us the process and the salt block wall comprised of Himalayan salt blocks. Great experience!"

  • "Chicago magazine gave Primehouse #1 steakhouse in Chicago? Seats were too close and it was loud and busy. Everything was OK even the steak. Not worth the prices we paid."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "Food was good but kind of disappointing for the price. Service was terrible, rude and very inattentive. Skip this place and go to Gibsons instead. Much much better steak and they actually treat you with some respect."

  • "Dining with friends to celebrate engagement, everything was perfect until I was charged $32 for valeting my vehicle. I won't go back unless I am walking or taking a cab."

  • "The restaurant was buzzing with energy as always. Nathan who took care of us provided fantastic service and the food was sublime. I highly recommend Primehouse to anyone that enjoys a great dining experience."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "We went for late brunch, they were out of a lot. The steaks were average not seasoned, the sides were ok . Mojito and Bellinis very good. The wait staff very nice."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "Everything was top notch except for the Kobe beef corn dogs. They tasted like the Vienna sausages that you get in a can for 79 cents at the grocer. I felt completely ripped off by it and there was no point of using Kobe beef except as a selling point, assuming it was used in the final product at all. It has made me wary of the rest of the appetizers on the menu. That being said I would recommend trying the 75 day aged steak, it was a very unique steak and one of the best I've had in my life. I even ate the marbling by itself, it was that good."

  • "The 40 day dry-ages rib eye steak was the best steak I've ever had, without a doubt. Great service, delicious food - would recommend to anyone"
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "The drinks were great and the food was delicious. The only complaint was that my boyfriend's steak was undercooked. He wanted medium and got medium rare. The flavor of the steak was amazing though! And they made up for it by giving him a free drink. I would also recommend the lamb. The side dishes were appropriate sized and two were enough for two people. The dessert however I don't think was worth it. We got the creme brûlée."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "I came here to try an aged ribeye. I got the 55-day ribeye, my date got the 40-day.I was able to try both. Compared to non-aged prime beef the flavor was noticeably different. The 55 day ribeye was more intense. I loved the taste. For steak connoisseurs, eating one of these steaks is a must. I wasn't impressed by either of the appetizers we tried (dumplings/maple glazed bacon). The sides were good, not great. Atmosphere was a bit noisy and cramped. I feel this is what you expect for similar restaurants in downtown Chicago. I would not count it is a negative.I would attribute it to popularity and response to demand. The ambience/dining area compared more to a very nice family restaurant than a very upscale steakhouse. A++ waiting staff."
