David Burke TownhouseDinner at David Burke TownhouseDinner at David Burke Townhouse is always a treat. The food is flavorful and inventive and the service is attentive. The zucchini appetizer was one of the best I have had and was a canopy of unique flavor. The chicken under a brick and the pork chop special were perfectly cooked and delicious. As always you cannot come here without getting a cheesecake lollipop tree. Overall one of our favorite places to eat in NYC and we will be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day.Had a wonderful experience here on Mother's Day. David Burke is a must!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experiencegreat dining experience for party of six.
Squash blssoms stuffed with buratta cheese
were favorite. Skirt steak and short ribs
also great5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Wanted to take a friend out for brunch to a special place. DB Townhouse fit the bill. The meal was excellent as was the service. I'd highly recommend it and plan to return for brunch again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother very enjoyable lunch/birthdAnother very enjoyable lunch/birthday celebration!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at the restaurantFirst time at the restaurant and would go back. Food is very good and creative, and service was friendly and professional.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific DinnerFrom start to finish everything was great. The staff was very accomodating and pleasant. It was great to see Mr. Burke there on a Monday night checking in on his restaurant. Only negative i can think of was my Bronz Veal was under cooked to medium rare instead of medium as ordered, I did not send it back. All other courses were terrific, especially the Escargot risotto my wife and I shared. One of my favorite places to dine in the city.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxing dinnerGreat place. I enjoy my "chicken Milanese" dish very much I have to say. Bartender Mario did a great job. Coming back to try lobster steak and crab cake .5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food With Poor ServiceOur party thoroughly enjoyed the food, sampling the Peas and Carrots and Angry Lobster appetizers, and the Crispy Chicken for the main course. The apple tart dessert was passable, but not memorable. The disappointing part of the evening was the service. Once dessert was served, we were ignored for the remainder of the evening. After waiting 30 minutes for someone to come to our table, I waved down the lead waiter who never apologized, but simply said he "thought his partner was taking care of our table." I spoke to the Manager who promised to look into the issue and call me to follow-up, but that never happened either, leaving an overall less-than-stellar dining memory. This restaurant was not able to meld great food AND great service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPRIXE FIX LUNCH BARGAINFabulous Food and Excellent Value. Delicious lunch menus at $27 + $39 alternative menu selections, always freshly prepared and fine value. Wine by the glass is also a broad selection and priced to sell. Highly recommended.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been here for lunch atHave been here for lunch at several times. They have a great prix-fixe menu which offers appetizers, entree and dessert at two different prices ranges. I've done both and both choices are excellent! The atmosphere is elegant without being 'stiff' and the service is 10-stars!! My fav is the Veal Saltimbocca...the ravioli is to die for!!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful atmosphere, great foodHad dinner at David Burke Townhouse and enjoyed every minute. The decor is fun and eclectic, but very comfortable. The bar area is cozy and the staff was welcoming and friendly. The server was glad to accomodate a few special requests and was very helpful in explaining the dishes and ingredients. The food was wonderful - veal was especially delicious and the appetizers were creative and prepared in an innovative way. Although the restaurant was crowded, the noise level was fine and it was easy to carry on a pleasant conversation. Nice chocolate treat for later was also a nice touch. I will look forward to returning soon.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can't beat the 3 courseYou can't beat the 3 course prix fixe lunch. Very creative menu with lots of choices, from wonderful seasonal soups and salads to fish, pastas and delicious desserts.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMContinuously outdoing itselfContinuously outdoing itself as one of the very best Manhattan kitchens for quality food expertly prepared each time. It doesn't get much better than this anywhere ... at reasonable to moderate prices. We are fortunate to have it as a neighborhood restaurant that we go to as often as possible.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDavid Burke Townhouse wasDavid Burke Townhouse was excellent. My fiancée and I really enjoyed our meal, the staff was very attentive and the ambiance is lovely.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie HeavenFood is amazing. The restaurant pays such attention to detail (details that I never even thought of before) that really enhance the dining experience. Definitely worth the money, since it's pricey, and very nice portions. Amazing cocktails as well.
The only downside is that the dining room is a bit small so the tables are close together and it gets rather loud.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery expensive but if youVery expensive but if you can afford it, great food and service4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Winner All The Way!The food is superb, the service outstanding! You can't beat a restaurant by Chef David Burke!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMlove the location and thelove the location and the atmosphere. foods are great and fresh. just 2 tight between tables. u can hear conversation from people sitting next to u but everything else are great.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMhappy eveningDinning room was crowded so we decided to eat at the bar. We got very friendly, excellent service. Bartender Mario made me laugh and I felt relaxed after stressful morning I had that day. On recommendation I ordered halibut, dish was outstanding and floral gin drink even better. Can't wait to get back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI took some guests from JapanI took some guests from Japan and they really loved the decor of the restaurant, food and presentation. They keep saying so charming and food is amazing. I really want to recommend this restaurant for special guests and friends. I had such a great time.
Thank you very much.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMService, food and ambianceService, food and ambiance was excellent. One of those restaurants I will be returning to for sure.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful place. Great ambiance.Beautiful place. Great ambiance. Great Food. We had brunch and the food was eclectic but delicious.
The only negatives I have are the food was rather expensive. Its an easy to spend a $150 on a 2 person brunch (without us having champagne or cocktails). Were not from New York so maybe our expectations are different in regard to brunch pricing.
Also, the seating was a little cramped making it somewhat uncomfortable. Definitely try to reserve a table in the middle of the floor. I'm sure its a great place for dinner.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in the 60'sHello,
My son went to David Burke with his girlfriend. He had the best experience with the staff and making him feel very special. He boosted how the food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend David Burke Townhouse to all.
Best, D. I4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous MealI was hosting my family and thought this would be a great place to have a fun meal after a whirlwind tour of the city - this was exactly the case and it proved to be a wonderful way to decompress. The staff was extremely accommodating and there are lots of special little touches, such as amuse bouche, a cute bread "bowl" and petit fours. Half of our party ordered off of the vegetarian menu, which is much better than any other non-specific vegetarian restaurant. Everyone was raving about their meals, even the 12-year-old in our party and my picky mother who loved her seaweed brined chicken. Our server was wonderful and made sure that we enjoyed our food, yet still managed to get out of there in time for the theater. Highly recommend!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA go-to for great foodWonderful food and terrific service. David Burke never disappoints, mixing whimsy with warmth, creating magical high-end comfort foods that you'll be thinking about and comparing your other meals to the rest of the week. The Crispy & Angry Lobster is a must-eat dish that's deliciousness is off the charts! It has just the right amount of lingering spice to complement the butteriness of the lobster. The Dorade with artichoke hearts, forbidden rice and coconut sauce was perfectly balanced— and cooked. Even the side dishes at Townhouse are extraordinary. The brussels sprouts, made with bacon, scallions and apple have a fireworks of flavor. I'll be counting the days to my next reservation!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDavid Burke is an under ratedDavid Burke is an under rated chef. His food is always high quality and innovative. The complementary popovers are very good. I had Davids signature swordfish collar in green pea puree with little fried gnocchi and it was a rare treat (not literally the fish was perfectly done). This is a great place to have lunch and the room is beautiful.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMwas absolutely wonderful, was absolutely wonderful, relaxing, attentive service.great food, all beautifully presented.
all in all a great experience, would recommend it any time..3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI tend to enjoy David Burke'sI tend to enjoy David Burke's establishment so I went for Easter brunch. Perhaps I expected too much since it was double the price of their standard brunch and was thus disappointed when there was nothing different or special about this holiday brunch. In short, food was good, but don't go when you have to choose from the holiday prix fixe.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceGreat and exciting food as always. A nice happy place for a date. I love David's restaurants and eat here 3 or 4 times a month. This used to have a great prefix lunch although they upped the price recently. While its still a good deal if you have never tried DB, for some reason that increase (although small) made it feel a little less of a gem for me. I'll be coming back but less often and giving other places in the area a shot.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMUsually Great....I love DBT...I really do. The service, atmosphere and (usually) food are all fabulous. That being said on my last visit something about the kitchen was just a tad off. From the lack of chili oil on the bar snacks to the omission of the wonderful bread and relish "pail" to the fatty rib eye.
When this restaurant is at the top of it's game it has few peers.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the pretzel crusted crabGet the pretzel crusted crab cakes! Everything is delicious, but all you need is crab cakes to start, and the doughnuts to finish, and you'll be happy you came!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAsolutely loved this restaurant!Asolutely loved this restaurant! Elegant, classy yet whimsical at the same time - it's my "go to" place for entertaining female clients from out of town, who immediately fall in love with the decor. The chicken under a brick is delicious and the desserts are of the charts!
