A word from David Burke Prime at Foxwoods
Celebrated Chef David Burke will bring his culinary expertise to Foxwoods Resort Casino, with the opening of David Burke Prime on July 9, 2008. All cuts of meat served at the restaurant will be imported directly from Creekstone Farms in Kentucky and dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in the restaurant’s in-house dry-aging room. In addition, David Burke Prime will offer thousands of bottles of premium wine from around the world. Located on the hotel level of Grand Pequot Tower in Foxwoods Resort Casino, the 13,000-square-foot steakhouse will seat 280 people and feature a 35-foot tall wine tower escalating up three stories to the casino level. In addition, the restaurant will include a 28-seat bar and 1,700-square-foot private banquet area, accommodating up to 100 people. Similar to David Burke’s Primehouse in Chicago, which was just voted Best Steakhouse in Chicago, David Burke Prime will feature an aging room with walls lined in imported pink Himalayan rock salt, crafted here in the U.S.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The menu is pricey but my wife and I had a fantastic time. The food was amazing and the service was just as great. The servers work in a team so my drinks were never empty for long."

  • "The wine list is exceptional, but a little pricey. The food preparation and presentation were excellent. The background music was too loud for my comfort, but hey the restaurant is in a casino."

  • "I eat at all the finest dining around. I was visiting from Miami and didn't have my expectations too high, to be honest. I was absolutely blown away. Top to bottom I thought the food was unbelievable. Steaks are amazing, sides were to die for. Very very impressed. Highly recommended."

  • "My steak was cooked well done, and was chewy. The rest of the food was very good, I expect perfection when I spend that kind of money."

  • "Everything was excellent - food (lobster) service and the little extras. Lobster bisque was delicious. Presentation was great and you did notfeel rushed"

  • "Been here before and it was better in the past. Seated in a small side room with a view of the escalators and a shop. Not seated in the nice part of restaurant. Caesar Salad was so so at best. I can make a better tasting one at home. The prime rib was good but was much better last time. Cheap whipped butter melts so fast and had little flavor on baked potato. Clam casino were not very good either. Servers forgot our "Popups and forgot my drink refill."

  • ""Stupid good" and "just plain stupid" sum up our experience. First the "stupid good". Overall the food was incredible. We went on Lobster night which I took part in. My wife did not. While I enjoyed my kung pao lobster, if I were to dine here again I would stick to the steak. My wife ordered the filet and it was without a doubt the best piece of beef she (and I...since she offered me a taste) have ever had. The "just plain stupid" part relates to the service. While our servers were very friendly and well meaning, the service was horribly slow. 20 minutes to get a drink and what seemed like an eternity between courses. We even had to wait 15 minutes to get our check. This type of service may sway me from not dining here in the future."

  • "Overall, food was great and service was very good. If I had to pick on some things, I was a little surprised by the discussion on oysters with waitstaff (not sure how bluepoints are out of season in late June) and a medium steak came out charred on the outside, but medium in the middle; that shouldn't happen. Otherwise, the dinner was as expected - top quality."

  • "We cant say enough to our friends on how delicious our steaks were. We will be returning soon with friends to imbibe. The best beef in all of New England."

  • "great service-sociable waiters-not stuffy. personable maitre'd-very attentive. food selection very good-great sides"

  • "From the warm greeting from the hostess who wished us a happy anniversary to the busboy who never let our water glasses get to the half way mark and everyone in between, the service was outstanding. Our waiter took our order right away and the somalier was over with our wine selection almost immediately. We ordered the Chateaubriand for two and when our food came out, our meat was carved tableside by a very pleasant woman. The presentation was beautiful and we couldn't help but notice how nice everyone else's food looked as well, especially the seafood tower. Everything was delicious. The complimentary cotton candy at the end of the meal was a whimisical and unique touch, making the whole experience especially sweet."

  • "Great food & wine. Enjoyed cocktails, steaks & wine (Kamen 2008)."

  • "Steak was good. Sides were just ok. Waited nearly one hour after seating to get our main course. Very loud"

  • "My wife and I have been to DB Prime several times and have yet to be disappointed. The food, wine, decor, and service were all impeccable. An absolutely wonderful experience...again!"

  • "Fatty KC strip. Left most of it in plate. The taste was good but I had to get something else to eat elsewhere."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "My food was terrible and under cooked. Our tuna appetizer was way too salty and very oniony. My boyfriends steak and chorizo mashed potatoes were good though. Service was good and décor was nice. Our check with tip came out to almost $300 and I don't think it was worth it at all. I will not be returning."

  • "The service was amazing and I have no complaints about the food, but when there are only 30 people in the place enjoying a nice early Fathers Day dinner the last thing you want is to have aerosmith come blasting on halfway through our meal. our server had to come turn down the music twice because they could barely hear us at our table. I get you're in a casino but if i want rowdy dining I'll jsut eat in the food court next time."

  • "Had a great (late) dinner. Missed our reservation by 45 minutes and they had no problem seating us on a Saturday night. The Maple Peppercorn Bacon is a must-have. Steaks were great, sides as well. Service was attentive and happy to provide my father with multiple popover rounds. All around it was a great Fathers Day meal."

  • "The food was wonderful and perfectly timed. The wait staff was very efficient and friendly. The price is higher than we generally pay but for a special occasion, it is wonderful!"

  • "When going to an upscale place, you are expecting two things. Above average service, and above average food. The service we had was basic at best. We had two waitresses which helped a little with questions, but was not really around to help. No one ever topped off our wine glasses. And a random person topped off our water. Not at all above average. The sides were actually quite tasty, but the steaks (which this place is allegedly known for) were just plain bad. Not at all cooked to what we ordered (the waitress offered to send one of the meals back, but we had to initiate the discussion.) She also did not seem to agree with our request, nor ask how the other steak was. Definitely pass on this place."

  • "We had a great seat overlooking a lobby. The food was okay, but we had some mishaps. Some got corrected and some we just dealt with it. The service was too slow. Hard to get refills or track people down when something went wrong."

  • "I traveled from Vermont to Foxwoods for my birthday. I reserved a table at David Burke not expecting more than the other restaurants in this price range. To my surprise I found the food far superior to those other restaurants and well worth the 4hr drive alone. They have great portions, food was cooked perfectly, and the wait staff was right on top of their game. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those visiting the casino!"

  • "I brought my wife to celebrate her birthday and the staff was fabulous. The appetizer (maple/pepper bacon) was great. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the dessert was delightful. My wife was very happy and pleased. She was especially happy that the 2 young ladies at the front desk wished her a happy birthday to start off her meal. It turned out a big "10" all around. Many thanks for your personal greeting and a wonderful meal. "

  • "Amazing like always, highly recommend the millionaire margarita, pork shank and any steak! Fantastic service, can't wait to go again!"

  • "I had heard that this was a good place for steak so I expected a lot. Even so I was overwhelmed! They have a unique aging process (it’s even patented) that produces a very tender and flavorful product. We were even given a tour of the kitchen and the aging cooler with walls lined with Himalayan salt. Aside from the steak, we had the pretzel encrusted crab cake, Caesar salad and mushroom/onion side dish. Every one was excellent and the service was too. "

  • "Staying at Foxwood we elected to go to Prime. I had been disappointed in Las Vegas Prime. Not the case here. As always we grazed.when we sat down we were brought an enormous popover that was crisp, light and airy. We had the Shrimp Chowder special. It was tangy and creamy and chock full of shrimp. Then we shared a pretzle crusted crab cake, Caesar salad, and thick candied bacon. The staff was attentive but not stuffy. The donuts at dessert were brought and you filled them yourself with squeeze bottles in chocolate, vanilla and raspberry flavors. Wish we lived closer."

  • "I recently dined here with my fiancé . The service and atmosphere was exceptional . The steaks on the other hand were nothing special . Also the mashed potatoes was like liquid you could of drank it. We spent $250 I could of gone to capital grill which the food there is far above this and saved money . Providence Prime or flemmings or even Ruth and Chris has a more flavorful steak at less money . "

  • "Was not that impressed with some of the wait staff. Food was okay. Would not go out of my way to go back again."

  • "This was my second time at DB Prime. And they knocked it out of the park on both occasions. Everything is done to please and surprise the customer. Popovers are delicious as a starter. We followed those up with tableside Caesar salads. The sauce is prepared in front of you and it is just delicious. I also highly recommend the maple bacon appetizer. It is thick and flavorful. Both steaks I've had here are great, but I opted for the dry aged sirloin this time and it was incredible. Cannot wait to go back."

  • "DavidBurke'sPrime was outstanding. Every detail was perfect. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Service was at the right pace. The food was indescribable. I had the prime rib and it was so perfectly cooked and tender, you didn't need a knife. If you get a chance - GO! "

  • "Went specifically for the Monday night lobster special...which was, in its own right, divine. However, the maple glazed slab bacon appetizer is the stuff of dreams. There are no words, just moans of satiation from our table. Enjoy!"

  • "The presentation of certain menu items is sophisticated and very creative. Such as the bacon appetizer. But. Place is expensive. "

  • "Arrived at 6:45 for a 6:45 reservation, told the host we we're going to a show at 8. We're told to wait at the bar for our table. Sat, and told our bartender that we were going to a show and we all agreed that we should order from the bar since it was 7pm. Ordered glasses of wine and seafood tower, came out around 7:30, cancelled entree's at that point to a pouty third bartender, couldn't find someone to run my bill by 8, so I had to leave a $20 tip and cash so I could make my show on time. Food was good, but not fun and they couldn't handle their Friday night rush, clearly. Poor attitudes abounded when I expressed our urgency the entire time. I want my 20%+ tip, cash change back. Great show, glad I didn't miss it."

  • "The food was very good however we all felt extremely rushed the entire time. We had a 5:30 reservation and was already finished at 6:10pm. We would of liked more time between the appetizer and entree and had more time to enjoy the evening. "

  • "Firstly, I really love this place & will be back. Server, Sara, was excellent on all levels. Lobster bisque with lobster roll ( sort of a generous lobster tempura/ spring roll) was delicious. Hubby & I didn't love our entrees this time around. My 40 day aged beef burger was dryish, not at all juicy, & the fries here are always floppy, not crisp. The pretzel crusted crab cake was just an odd combo of flavors. Will try something else next time around. Btw, one of the specials was a 12 lb lobster-imagine!"

  • "When I made the Open Table reservation, I was asked is this a special occasion. I reported that it was my wife's birthday along with my request. Upon arrival the hostess wished my wife a happy birthday and took us to our seats. Our waiter then offered my wife birthday wishes as well. She was surprised to say the least. A great evening, food, service, and a nice special dessert is what followed. "
