A word from Daugherty's American Kitchen & Drink
Brad Daugherty grew up in Black Mountain, North Carolina, just minutes from Asheville. After an All-American career playing basketball at The University of North Carolina, he was the first overall draft pick in the 1986 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went on to a successful 8 year NBA career followed by becoming a Nascar Sprint Cup Series car owner of the #47 car. He commentates Nascar and NBA basketball on ESPN and admittedly loves to eat!

Brad's affinity for his home of Western North Carolina and the Asheville community made South Asheville a logical place for his own restaurant. He sought to create flavorful and well thought out food in a relaxed upscale atmosphere.

When it comes to food, enjoy regional and local cuisine borne from Brad's upbringing in Western North Carolina, fused with his experiences dining around the nation as a professional basketball player, Nascar team owner and sports commentator.

While Daughtery's has done much to improve the interiors by opening it up, it still has the ambiance of a generica sports bar. But the food and service far exceeded expectations, so we will return often.

  • We went to celebrate my birthday.

We went to celebrate my birthday. I ordered salmon and my husband ordered steak. It took a long time to get our food. The salmon was undercooked. I could not eat it. I was offered something else but did not want to wait. They did not make me pay for it. That was the only time I have not been happy there. We have been back since and everything was great. I will continue to eat there. I just chalk it up to them making a mistake just like we all do.

  • Frankie Bones has great food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 11/24/2011
Frankie Bones has great food in a very enjoyable setting. We usually sit near the bar area, which has a NYC appeal. Service is great and the food is prepared authentically and we've always been pleased with the selections and options. The staff is very responsive and service is excellent. You will need a car to get there and it is on the south side of Asheville -- a few miles south of I-40. We go back regularly!

My wife and I live in Charlotte but go to Asheville on occasion and every time we go we must make Frankie Bones one of our first stops! The last time we went we went way over board and ordered 2 apps, 2 meals, sides, and dessert we were so stuffed we could barely walk out. The food is wonderful and the staff seems great!!! LOVE Frankie Bones and hope they can expand closer to us someday
