Together we are shamelessly unapologetic flavor crusaders and Datz is our playground. An american gastropub + market dishing up regional comfort food favorites generously paired with craft beer, boutique wine and artisanal cheese. The lay out of the restaurants is so cool and allows for plenty of space for lots of diners but also keels you from feeling like you are eating off of someone's dinner plate. The food is unlike anything you will find in Tampa. This restaurants specializes in bacon and their sandwiches are to die for. I can't wait to go back to try their breakfast."

The place was slammed so we just paid and went on our way. I love the atmosphere and the food was fantastic the first time, but consistency is key."

  • "We've been to Datz 4 times. The first time, we were told it was a half hour wait, so we put our cell ph# down for texting, and we left as we had a show to get to. 1 1/2 hours later, table was ready. The second time, we went earlier and got in. Sat at a booth with our 7 year old son, looked at the menu, then were told we had to get up because the booth was reserved. We got up, then were told to sit back down. The food was EXCELLENT except for the fact that it took literally 45 minutes to get it. The restaurant was not busy. The last two times we went, we either got the wrong sandwich or it was prepared incorrectly. The food, when prepared, is great, and the service is fine. It just seems that every time we go, something is "off"."

  • "My husband and my 4 kids planned a limo trip from Orlando to Tampa and your restaurant came highly recommended for our energetic group .... We heard the food was wonderful and we were anxious to try it.... You did not disappoint!!! The staff was very accommodating .... My sister from Mass. Even prearranged a delicious birthday cake to be delivered to the table for me from your bakery....she had been in contact with the owners for this surprise.... Food was fabulous, staff was wonderful ....I felt our group of got the royalty treatment from everyone there.... Great birthday fun. Thanks to all ! Perfect atmosphere for a special occasion."

  • "I have visited DATZ 3 times now for dinner, each time, service was a disaster. No attention after you are seated. Forget getting drink refills and waiters disappear for extended periods of time, it’s almost a treat just to see the waiter to get the check. Most recently, a waiter delivered a drink we didn't order (was for the table next to us). This also occurred for their appetizers and main course too (we became quite friendly with the table next to us). Beer and Wine took almost 20 minutes and not 1 offer to refill Sodas, literally sat empty, we stopped waiter walking by for a refill. They are either seriously understaffed or just highly unorganized. BUT, the food is always great and we like the atmosphere, but damn, get better organized!"

  • "Our first visit to DATZ proved to be enlightening. We loved the ambience and the creative menu. The Capt enjoyed his "breakfast for lunch" - EGGS BARBACOA, and for me, datz's version of a Cuban - HAVANA HOTTIE of datz pulled pork, ham, swiss cheese, dill pickle, spicy honeycup mustard, served hot on a house-baked batard. Cannot wait to revisit to dine on the "when pigs fly" datz bacon flite: benton's hickory smoked bacon, jowl bacon, back bacon, peppered bacon, nueske's applewood smoked bacon with balsamic glaze, maple syrup, red chili pepper jam, and valrhona chocolate, sounds delish!!"

  • "Been wanting to take my husband for a long time-finally got the chance on Valentines Day. Although we made reservation, there was plenty of seating at the bar. Bartender appeared a little stressed but considering it was a busy holiday it didnt ruin anything for us. Food and cocktails great as always, portions plentiful. I like the new "dough" where you can sit and have dessert away from crowd."

He forget to bring us the free popcorn several other tables received the popcorn. My sandwhich bread was very greasy. There was way too much butter. Lastly, the check took 25 minutes to arrive."

Even though it wasn't extremely busy, some of our foods didn't show up at the same time and the server was MIA at times when we needed things like water, or more coffee.   • "I have been here several times and every time was a great experience, except the last one! I was so disappointed because I took 6 relatives with me so they could have a great experience, but our burgers were WAY undercooked and the food was cold by the time we got it. It was my birthday so that was even more sad for me. I think maybe it was a different cook or maybe just a bad day. I loved it so much the other times that I will continue to make the 45 min drive and hope the next time will be better."

My colleague did not know about the place and had a great meal. The food was MUCH improved over past experiences - Not that it was bad at all, but there was a noteable leap in quality.   • "The last 2 times we ate at Datz I took my sister and her husband who had never been to Datz. Also, I took a neighbor who had never been to Datz. Both times we sat upstairs and the service was LOUSY, LOUSY and LOUSIer! Would go back and try it one more time and request sitting downstairs only! If service is poor, I would never go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone! I was SOoooooo embarrassed about the poor service. Im afraid my friends/relatives will try it again."

However, considering the history of the restaurant, I understand. Logan is awesome, makes you feel like best friends right from the minute you sit down. Love that you can walk over to Dough for a change of scenery and delicious deserts and coffee."

  • "Totally worth the 45 minute drive to get there. This is going to be our new spot for special occasions. The black truffle fries were amazing- great flavor and seasoning despite being soaked in truffle oil. The corned beef on my reuben was very lean, possibly the best I ever had. The bread got a little soggy on the bottom side, but I haven't had many reubens that didn't get soggy. Spouse had the club sandwich, bacon was really good, but he didn't love the multi-grain bread. The chips with bleu cheese drizzle were a great concept, but the drizzle needed a little more punch to it, seemed a little bland. I know this review is a bit critical, but this was still the best food we've had in months (and we go out A LOT). I highly recommend!"
