Das Ethiopian - GeorgetownWorth A TryThis was our first time having Ethiopian food. The staff and food were both amazing. The flavors were full and presentation was beautiful. It was a great experience. If you have never eaten here, you should. We will definetly be return diners on future visits to Georgetown.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA new favoriteThe portions were excellent and well-priced, and the food itself was incredibly flavorful. I was especially pleased with the little extras like someone brining around extra injera, the side of spices for the kitfo or the wet hand wipes at the end--not found at other Ethiopian restaurants. I will definitely be back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust great...We travel to Washington every couple of years and this restaurant is always a must. Not until we booked our reservation did we find out that it had changed hands. We were warmly greeted, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food fantastic. It seems that it only got better!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcoming and very good service.Welcoming and very good service. We enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend Das Ethiopian.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like Ethiopian food, try DasHusband and I were out in the city on a Wednesday night. After wandering M Street for a bit, we decided we wanted to be adventurous and try Das. We had a very pleasant evening. From our welcome at the door, to the welcome and goodbye at the table, service was very, very good. Our waitress was helpful with meal selection, too. The wine list is small, but there are few nice choices. The mushroom appetizer was wonderful. We had the meat sampler as our shared entree. We were told it was very spicy, and we said great. While the chicken was spicy, the other meats were less so. They were good, but not super spicy. Restaurant was 2/3 full, but noise level really manageable.
All in all, a really nice find. Recommend!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDas Ethiopian is almost alwaysDas Ethiopian is almost always a stop when I'm in DC. The food is excellent, the ambiance pleasant. Whether you are a returning customer or a first time visitor, the owner greets you warmly and welcomingly. Never tried Ethiopian food? Don't be afraid. You will enjoy great flavors and textures.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMServer was very attentiveServer was very attentive and helpful - she needed to speak a bit louder, but honestly that was her only "weakness"....food was great, presentation was fantastic and the owner/manager was very pleasant during a brief table visit.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ethiopian cuisineI went to DAS with a group and we had such a wonderful time. The service was amazing. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu which is helpful if its your first time eating Ethiopian cuisine. There were four of us so each of us chose something from the menu. The server advised that it would be served family style which we were excited about. When the platter came to the table it had some items which were great to clean the palate, then the server assembled the platter. This was definitely an amazing meal and cannot wait to return. Very recommendable.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will return to this restaurantWe will return to this restaurant every time we visit DC. It is friendly, interesting, delicious, and fun. What coud be better?4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDas Ethiopian has fantasticDas Ethiopian has fantastic service, great food, and a classy ambiance. They also take reservations and keep them! I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on their patio on the main street of Georgetown.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very good experienceWe had a very good experience here. The service was attentive and the ambiance/decor are quite nice - it does feel more formal than the usual Ethiopian restaurant. We shared the shortribs and the vegetarian sampler - a great combination. Excellent espressos.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant, classy dinner spotThis was my first time at an Ethiopian restaurant, and I had a very positive experience with the food and the service. It probably isn't the most authentic place in the city to get Ethiopian food -- it definitely plays up to the Georgetown clientele -- but it was an excellent date night experience and I would love to go back. The food was great and the manager made a point to stop by our table to make sure we knew what all of the dishes were when they arrived.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is one of the best EthiopianIt is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in the area, located in the heart of Georgetown. All the old Zeds fans must know that this is simply a change in name. I have always loved the food and enjoyed dining here since 8 years.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time there, the foodFirst time there, the food was amazing! They did not have a full bar, but the wine was good.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for vegetarians!Food was delicious. Well seasoned without ring urning hot. Lots of subtle flavored. Had the vegarian sampler, well balanced, plenty to eat.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, esp if spicierExcellent Ethiopian. The only issue might be that some dishes could come in as a bit mild; we should have asked for something a bit spicier. HIGHLY recommend both the shrimp and the mushroom Tibs; the spinach & rice with chicken infillay was the milder dish that could have used a bit of pumping up.
Wine list is a bit limited, as is the bar; however, this isn't a place where you go to drink (there are lots of other places for that), it's a place for great Ethiopian food.
We'll definitely be back, and will definitely reserve a space.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMScores well on all countsWe enjoyed this restaurant! Thoughtful and accommodating service; tasty, well prepared and presented food; a quiet, cute atmosphere, and very reasonably priced.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulousLove this restaurant! Delicious, healthy, quick, great service, consistently excellent3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dining ExperienceDas Ethiopian was truly a dining experience. The service was wonderful. We were greeted by a distinguised gentleman that took our coats, provided us with an overview of the dining experience and made suggestions about the menu. Our servers were also wonderful. Beautiful gracious women that appropriately came to our table to check on us. We were there for several hours but the staff never rushed us. I had only eaten Ethopian cuisine once many years ago. Lots of choices for vegetarians and non-vegetarions. Also the price was very affordable. This experience has definitely connected me to a new experience. I was visiting DC for an overnight business trip but will come back again and bring others.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe finest Ethiopian in DC--greatThe finest Ethiopian in DC--great food, great service, and a great dining experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
