  • "One of my favorite things about this place was our server, Andrew, a Southerner with a love of Japanese culture and language. Otherwise, the food was good but not all that memorable, and the bill adds up quickly for just a few small plates and a bowl of soba. Best dishes were the scallop sashimi and the mackerel in dashi. I appreciated the handmade buckwheat noodles from the soba-master chef, but at $24 for a bowl with uni, I was wishing I was back at Smorgasburg eating Yuji Ramen's $10 uni mazemen."

  • "This is not an Izakaya!! It is completely over-priced and over-fancied, and loses the entire Izakaya concept/atmosphere. Really small and uninteresting sake menu. Had such high hopes, as we love Sushi Azabu. We should have just gone to Sushi Azabu for the same price! Crazy! Really too bad, we were hoping this would be our new neighborhood spot. Won't be back."

  • "The service was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and authentic. Fun dishes to share and good drink menu with some great sake and interesting cocktails. The soba was absolutely delicious and the simplicity of form and flavor was perfection. My only issue was that there were a couple infants in the front room that were crying incessantly and we felt that the relaxing ambience they created with beautiful music, food and decor was a bit destroyed by the noise but it wasn't their fault. Highly recommended."

  • "Izakaya means pub but this one is not at all Izakaya, foods and prices are the moderate restaurant rank. The waiter told us the soba is a handmade but I doubt it, soba are too thin and it breaks up, it doesn't have koshi (knelled well) quality. And weird soba-yu, too thick, almost specially made from soba powder."

  • "The food is unbelievable. Subtle tastes of modern Japan in the heart of Tribeca. Small delicacies to share all along, to finish with your personal plate of cold or hot soba entrée. The service needs some improvement, they kind of rushed us all along and kicked us out (literally lights up, no music) and 12:15 because they close at midnight-that's what they said when we asked what was happening. That kind of killed the magic, considering that the taste of magic comes at a very high price ($400 for a table of 4). If you get the French guy who seems to be in charge, he will guide you wisely through the menu. Definitely a place to save for special occasions."

  • "Greenwich is a good little restaurant. But since reopening after Hurricane Sandy, quality of food and service has changed. The hirame carpaccio was small in portion, not the same quality of fish and plated by an amateur. We really hope it was go back to the quality of food and service so we can continue to enjoy for many years."

  • "Fantastic price fix lunch menu - for August they were even giving out free half glasses of wine! So that's $12 for a 3 course lunch with wine - and even coffee/tea afterward. Wow. Very interesting menu, I had the uni and clam pasta, ceviche app, and panna cotta dessert. Wow. The only complaint is it's a bit too slow for a 1 hour business lunch. It takes a while for the food to come out. Perhaps next time I could try to bring everything at once - including the check. But still very recommended."

In the summer, free half-glasses of wine and beer are also available. the food is exquisite--asian-inspired salads, fish, and pastas. The decor is simple and sleek, but not pretentious. Service is excellent, though this is clearly a place where wait staff expects you to linger. Water was refilled endlessly and promptly."

  • "Best green curry fettuccine you could imagine! Never had a buttery green curry... to die for! All the food is amazing! My only beef: Our $54 bottle of wine, when I checked my wine app on my phone, retails for $7-11... The manager (very very nice guy) told me that they buy it for $16! I told him they are getting ripped off, if that's the case, and that we are royally ripped off, if thats the mark-up. Too bad I checked the price... left a bad taste in my mouth for what was a favorite place of ours."

  • "The Greenwich Grill was recommended to me as a great place to eat. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience and our waitress was very rude, not very helpful. Although the food was delicious, we were not prepared for such small portions. My friends and myself are not big eaters to begin with, but we were very suprised to see such small portions when our pasta entrees came to the table. If the waitress would have warned us that the portions were small, we would have ordered salads and appetizers. Once our entree came, it was too late. The Manager did give us a complimentary dessert to make up for the poor service. Unfortunately I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, there are too many other great restaurants in the city."

  • "I have been to the Greenwich Grill many times now and am always amazed by the quality of the food. The Ceviche and Fish Carpaccio used fish much tastier and fresher than I've had at other restaurants. All of the pastas, most notably the Zuwai Crab and Bottarga Spaghettini and the Thai Green Curry Fettuchine, were delicious and cooked a perfect al dente. The Roast Chicken Entree was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Last time I went we even ordered a few pieces of excellent sushi from the Sushi Azabu restaurant downstairs! *Great & romantic corner tables. They even have a great bathroom! Sabon soap and a Japanese toilet with heated seat and power wash! Amazing! Now I need to go back for the $18 lunch special. What a st"

Came back mulptiple times and didn't have the item(s) that were ordered- bottle of wine, one of the entrees, the seaweed and rice to make the piece of sushi). When the bill came, was charged for the items that the restaurant didn't have or that weren't served to the table. Wait service not tight or well organized."

  • "I've been to Greenwich Grill Restaurant 4 times in just a month of August alone because I love it. I love the foods, drinks, service and everything. It's now my new favorite restaurant. My favorites are the fish carpaccio and the zuwai crab & bottarga spaghettini and of course, the sushi. Their coffee is from Italy and tastes so great. The milk is served warm so the coffee doesn't get cold easily. Those are the best. I strongly recommend Greenwich Grill to my co-workers, friends and relatives. I will definitely go back there again and again."
