Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I dined at Dario's Sat night. We recently moved to the Omaha area and have been busy trying many new restaurants (there are many). Dario's ranks at the highest of our experiences - for the menu and the extensive wine and beer selections. Our waitress Michaela was so friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and beverage selections. If you love escargot you must try it here! Soups - delectable! The short ribs - lean, tender and full of flavor! And try the profiteroles with a warm Armanac to finish. Dario's Brasserie is at the top of our list for fine dining experiences! We look forward to our next visit. We want to try lunch too - and one of those Lambic beer floats!"

  • "It was my first time there and as a vegetarian I knew there wasn't lots on the menu for me to choose from. But my boyfriend has been there a couple times and really wanted to go for his birthday so we went. I was pleasantly surprised that the soup of the day happened to be a vegetarian one. It was the Tomato Lentil and it was amazing. Our meat and cheese plate looked very cute and was also great. And both of our entrees were cooked perfectly and tasted great! There was even a vegetarian entrée for me so I was a happy camper. We will definitely be going back!!!"

  • "Dario's is a lovely, comfortable restaurant with a select menu of unique and delectable dishes. The service is impeccable. The menu isn't huge - but in my opinion, it's better to have several excellent entrees than hundreds of anything less. I love the fact that there are no TV screens anywhere and it's a quiet, relaxing place to enjoy a quality meal. Classy, but not stuffy, it has somewhat of an Old World feel to it - reminds me of a restaurant I went to in Manhattan. A great place for anniversaries and special nights out - or a first date, if you want to set the bar high."

  • "Dario's is a staple in our restaurant rotation. The place feels cozy without being cramped, and the food is wonderful. We're always excited to see how the menu changes from season to season. Reservations are helpful."

  • "My wife and eye love to try new restaurants so we decided to give Dario's a try for her birthday. The Pomme Frites are everything the review we read said they were. I had the 36 hour short ribs and they were amazing. My wife had the scallops in mushroom-oyster risotto and as she said, "it didn't smell fishy". Which is high praise for a seafood dish from her since she doesn't like the smell, loves the taste but not the smell. My wife had a Lambec and I had a Maudite to drink and both drinks were amazing. Both drinks were very good. The table next to us had a small child and his food looked just as good and well presented as ours or his parents, which is high praise since most kid's meals are pretty 'basic'. Will be on our 'repeat' list!"

  • "I travel for a living, so the only thing I can count on is a good meal. Dario's is "just right" in many ways. The neighborhood is charming. The decor hits me just right. Not too loud, but not sounding like a morgue either. Many tempting menu options.. And there is a dessert menu. Have been there about 4 times now, and every time, everything I have had was wonderful. They have a crepe dessert where every day what is in it changes. Many wonderful items (and yes, I've had it each time!), but perhaps the best is the bananna and nutella crepe. Outstanding. Plus many excellent liquers. I finished off the banana nutella crepe with a calvados brandy, and a friend had the absinthe. from a decanter that dripped water over a sugar cube..."

  • "This was my umpteenth visit to Dario's. We love how the menu changes over time and their daily specials. This visit, we must have had a new waitress because for every menu question she had to check her little cheat sheet and really couldn't give a good description of the item. This was completely out of character from what we have come to expect over the past years at this restaurant. We plan on going back again soon, and while a bit frustrated, it didn't change our overall opinion of Dario's as being a great place to eat."

  • "I live in between Dundee and Benson and love the dining choices in both areas! Dario's is a favorite restaurant of mine. It has the ambience I love. It is the size I love, not too big and not too small. It has a great staff, and the food is always delicious. It is one place that I take visitors when coming to visit from out-of-town. My family stayed at a beautiful hotel in Colorado many times while I was growing up, and many of my family feel that Dario's decor, especially the huge flower arrangement in the center of the room, give us all the same warm feeling that we felt long ago, while reminding us of our great memories at such a beautiful spot. Love it always!!"

  • "Wonderful choices for Brunch or anytime. Great crepes, quiche and Croque Madame. Coffee is the best restaurant coffee and served in enormous cups (like coffee should be). Beautifully presented plates. The BEST french fries in town."

  • "Tucked away in the Underwood neighborhood, this French restaurant had a classic European feel. From the decor all the way down to the water glasses, one felt like they had left Omaha for their dining experience. I had the free range chicken with mashed potatoes and amazing leeks. My husband had the spare ribs with steamed vegetables and a potatoe side. Make sure you plan for a good amount of time so you can enjoy dessert. The restaurant had a main dining area and back bar seating. After a slight mistake in our reservation, my husband and I were seated in the back bar. Although initially reluctant and wanting to sit in the main dining area, the back bar was very romantic, quiet and cozy. We will request to sit in that area next time."

  • "Feels like an authentic French bistro in the middle of Omaha. Not pretentious. The real deal. We took a visiting foodie friend from Chicago here for a meal before the Community Playhouse. We all chose specials. All were delicious. Thanks, Dario's!"

  • "The menu offers French favorites in a limited variety. The food is excellent, if a bit overpriced, as is the wine/beer menu. It is a lovely dining experience, whether for lunch or for dinner; expect to pay between $30 - $60 per person."

  • "We were at Dario's for our son's birthday dinner. My only reason for giving the food 3 stars was because we ordered Mussels, which are our favorite at the restaurant, but they were the smallest, tiniest mussels we had ever eaten. Flavor was good, but they were no bigger than the tip of my nail on my baby finger! Even though we weren't happy with that aspect, the rest of our party's dinners were good and we love the atmosphere..."

  • "The atmosphere was not what I expected. Extremely close seating and an uncontrolled customer volume level created an environment that was hard to hear my guest. Additionally, the owners are clearly very proud of their menu items as reflected in their pricing. Be prepared to spend a significant amount for extremely good food in an overcrowded setting. The beer menu was overwhelming but the waiter did explain each one very well. The wine offerings was limited and not well varied. Also, the parking is horrendous. I drove around for 15 minutes before I found a spot to park illegally."

  • "The food was amazing. Hands down the best crepes and escargot I've ever had. The food was like being in France. The servers (Michaela and Rebecca) were some of the nicest waitresses / hostesses I've ever encountered. The question for me is not "IF" I will go back for my next dining experience but it is "HOW OFTEN". Haven't stopped talking about dining at Dario's with friends and associates. It's a must go! • "With an unpretentious facade, this restaurant offers very good food and excellent service. The best? If you like mussels, they have many recipes for them available. The down side? One has to get there early in order to have the special, which although it was very good, they ran of it well before 7:00 PM."

  • "Dario's is consistently terrific. Phenomenal Belgian beer selection, thoughtful and delicious food, friendly knowledgeable wait staff and an awesomely energetic room. Time and time again Dario proves that this is one of Omahas best restaurants."

  • "We come to Dario's when we want a delicious meal at a very fair price for the food. Whatever Is prepared sous vide is succulent and flavorful. A great place to warm up with cozy food and delicious beer pairings. Great creeps and salads for somewhat lighter appetites. No kids' menu but kids are always welcome and my picky eater loves the burger & frites."

  • "We were happy to wait at the bar for our requested table and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere. We enjoy that the restaurant is not too loud to have a quiet conversation. The food is always good. We both thought pairing the salmon with lentils is not a great pairing. The textures and spices of each were conflicting to the palate. Although, each would stand on its own in flavor. Next time I will request that the salmon be served on a bed of greens. We tried the veal cheeks for the appetizer and found it to be perfectly seasoned but way too marbled with fat to appeal to either of us. We prefer to eat healthier. We split the Banana Nutella crepe and found the common sounding dessert to be quite uncommonly delicious in flavor."

  • "Our dining experience this past visit to Dario's was just the same as it always is, exceptional. I consistently return here because of the atmosphere, the great service and the consistently great food. I had the Mussels A la Biere and they were great! We have had the Sous Vide Short Ribs in the past and I seriously think about them all the time."

  • "It was our first visit to Dario's and we were pleased that it was just as we expected. Our server was very knowledgeable on the food and drinks and was able to offer opinions and suggestions on each. The food was incredible and so reasonably priced! I had the steak and my husband had the short ribs. Both were tender and flavorful. It was a great experience and we will definitely go back."

  • "My friend and I came in for an early dinner, and split one of the daily specials. The waitstaff consulted and gave a good beer recommendation to my friend, and were happy to provide a taste of the brews recommended before she ordered. Dario's plates spit entrees for you, and does each half beautifully. So much nicer than having to push half the food off with a fork into a messy heap! The food, as usual, was excellent. The room was quiet when we came in (5:30) and vibrant when we left (7:00). I recommend it whole heartedly."
