We selected Dantanna's Downtown since we had a gift card and we were going to the Hawks game. We arrived on time and we were seated as expected. After we made our selections, we placed our order with our server and we expected it to be delivered directly to us, without incident. Instead, we saw one of the runners attempt to deliver our meals (crab cake dinner and mahi mahi special) to TWO tables. The first table did not accept the order. At the second table, the runner set down one of the plates. After she stuck her face in it (to get a closer look, I presume), she realized it was not her food. The runner took the plates away and I could not see him; my husband was saw him and noticed he appeared to have a conversation with our server (and the manager). Then the unthinkable happened, the runner came to our table and attempted to give the [same] plates to us. We told him, "We do not want that. You set that down in front her." He did not say a word, he just walked off in a huff. Shortly thereafter, the manager came over to apologize and asked if we would like him to prepare our meals again. By this time it was 6:55 and the game started at 7:30 and we expressed our time constraint to the manager. We opted to order something else, sandwiches, which we thought would be quicker and expedited because of the offending incident. Not so much. Our server did stop by and offer to "drop the check" when our meals were delivered, to which I jokingly responded, "Oh, we're getting a check?" I realized my comment shocked him; I apologized later. When we did receive our check (after summoning the server), no portion of our bill was comped. Even though I joked about still getting a check, it was surprising given the offending incident and our time. At this point, we were already late for the game and did not want to belabor the issue either with the server or manager. We used the gift card to pay the check, we tipped the server, and left the restaurant.

Slow night. Hardly anyone there. It's a sports bar and restaurant, but with no customers this particular night, the ambiance was ruined. Food was good though.

Restaurant had been reserved for the Miami Hurricanes supporters club. Despite noise and people, kitchen did a great job keeping up with orders and food quality was very good.

I decided to meet someone from out of town at this restaurant. I work downtown and it was only a few blocks walk from my office, so no parking issues. Because I had such a wonderful experience at the Buckhead location a few weeks back, I was excited to show this place off to my guest. BAD IDEA! This place was nothing like the one in Buckhead and I was sorely disappointed in the menu, the atmosphere, and the service. It might well be a good late night/dinner place, but it did not meet my expectation for lunch.

Went before concert , 4 of us seated right away with reservations, desipte being busy service was good. Food was very good, despite sprots bar feel food was much more upscale { and pricier} than normal sports bar but worth it. Only thing really was desparity in plating which probably came from how busy it was. Excellent aparagus side came with 20 + pieces on one plate and 7 on another . Steak and prok chops were excellent and special pastsa with shrimp was very good. A great place for a more upscale experience when around Phillips / Dome .

Expected an ok dining experience due to it being next to the arena and leaning more towards beer and spirits. We went because it was close not expecting much. Pleasantly surprised. Great food and great service... even after a big concert.

Had a lunch meeting here, solid place. Located between CNN and the convention center, it's a natural place to go if attending an event. Super nice waitress, had a phenomenal burger.

We came to Dantana's following the Falcon's home opener and our server was slammed, but he handled himself professionally and did a wonderful job in spite of all of the pressure. The manager was also wonderful.

This is the second time in the past month I have come to this location of dantannas. Both times, the food has been entirely disappointing when compared to my experiences at the buckhead location. The crab dip appetizer was especially bland and reminded me more of a cheap crab soup you buy in bulk from Sysco than a home made chunky and creamy dip with noticeable crab meat that I would expect from a middle to higher end menu selection. The entree was just fine, but again bland. It certainly served the purpose of being a great place to watch the World Cup and the service was good (except for a vapid hostess who would not seat me without the entire party and then forgot who I was when I came back a minute later).

This is basically a glorified sports bar. And do believe the reviews about them wanting to get you in and out asap. Disappointed. The only reason I would ever go back would be to watch a sporting event on TV with a group, as they have big booths with individual TVs, as well as private rooms with big flat screens.

While this won't be a foodie choice, it's location is good if heading to an event at Philips Arena. Appetizers and salads were good - tried the spinach salad, crab cake, and calamari. Cocktails were bland, so go for beer or wine. Service was earnest though slow; let them know you have an event to go to and they'll get you your bill on time.
