  • "We had a nice dinner on a quiet Sunday night - except for the large groups with kids in the place - sending the noise level off the charts. Steak was very tasty and my husband enjoyed the full rack of ribs. Apps were good as well. What was missing? Well .... it was almost like no one cared what the plates looked like. No presentation or effort in the serving of the meal. When I'm paying $33 for a steak, please throw some parsley or something on the plate to make it look like you take more pride in what comes out of your kitchen. In the scheme of things, it may seem like a minor detail to many. But to me, it shows a lack of effort and that bothers me in an otherwise enjoyable meal."

  • " This was my third return to Danny's. The restaurant was empty which was unexpected for a Saterday night at eight. I ordered a rib eye( I always do) but it was over cooked, not medium rare.. I ate as much of my steak as I could( I was hungry). My garlic mashed potatoes were cold and too heavy. We also ordered creamed spinach, it was terrible.. Fresh spinach floating in watery milk- tasteless. These are dishes your kitchen staff must master at a steak place. We let our waitress know about the spinach and she was kind enough to remove the charge from our bill. I most likely will not return to Danny's."

  • "Return visit for me with a few girlfriends, one of whom struggles to find a decent neighborhood steakhouse. No longer - she's found it. Tried Danny's last month when went our mid-week for dinner with work mates. Loved the food (& owner Danny - attentive to his diners) then so came back with friends. Kitchen service a little slower on a Thur. (Indep. Day weekend) but still worth the wait. Appetizer & mains are great. Only negative would be on desserts / couple of us tried the Creme brûlée & flan - texture great but felt like they'd forgotten the vanilla essence! We never mentioned it so our fault for not speaking up but not a showstopper. Will be back."

  • "There was a party there. They had one high top in the bar and two tables available, both in bad locations. It was noisy and too hectic. My Delmonico was too thin and too well done, not medium rare as ordered. I would not go back!"

  • "Food was great, I had the grass fed rib eye and it was amazing. My wife had the sushi dinner, she loved it. House merlot was very nice as well. We chose to sit outside because it was extremely loud inside, to the point that we wouldn't have been able to enjoy our meal."

  • "I like a good quality steakhouse and wanted to try something in Red Bank. I thought Danny's would do it, but the noise level did not make it an enjoyable meal. Since it was a nice day the restaurant opened their bay windows to have an open-aired feel. the problem is they don't face the river or the ocean, just a busy street. Combine that with the patrons who could barely hear themselves think trying to talk to their tablemates and the resulting decibel level would make construction workers cringe. As for the food, the quality was very good, but I felt that they need to see dining as a full course affair. Their dessert list fell flat and didn't round out an enjoyable meal. I wouldn't write them off for that, but it dropped one star."

  • "My husband and I celebrated his 50th birthday here Sunday night, and we were happy we did. We had the chateaubriand for two, and it was melt-in-your mouth delicious! Loved our salad (honey roasted pecans, pears, and gorgonzola over field greens and sherry vinaigrette), and the three sides we chose with our entree were perfect (roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach, and especially the wild mushroom risotto - the best risotto we both have ever had, by far). We split a decadent piece of chocolate cake, and they were sweet to include a candle on top and "Happy Birthday" message in glaze on the plate, which included strawberries and cream. Decaf espresso and cappuccino made it complete, as did the cabernet we had with our meal."

  • "Went for our Anniversary dinner before a show at the theater next door. Food was a good value for the price. Service could have been better. Our waitress never gave us the specials for the night. We only knew there were specials when we heard them being offered to the next table. A waitress takes your order and servers bring the food. Our server did not know the tables. Tried to serve us a salad while we were still reading the menus and tried to bring our appetizers to another table. Finally, he must have brought our desert to another table since we never received it and were charged for it. They corrected our bill and even deducted the coffee. Very noisy throughout the restaurant especially outside noise since windows were open."

  • "Had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time for our table! We were directed to the bar, ran up a $50 tab, no gratis from management for delay. At table,very slow service, ordered two appys, only one showed up. Food was very good. Waiter offered free dessert for mishap, but charged us for the missed appy and a cappuccino we didn't order. They had already charged our amex $270, but was told they would void and bring us a new check. Ten minutes passed, I asked for receipt for credit, they said they would run it at end of night. I was not leaving with over $500 charged on my amex!!! Asked manager to void, which she did. We have had dined there previously and have enjoyed everything, but we will not dine there on a holiday again."

  • "This was our first time eating here and we loved it. We have some unique dietary restrictions and we were all able to order things that enabled us to completely enjoy the meal and not stress whether it was going to be prepared okay. The meat was cooked to perfection and the Dragon Roll was delicious. The additional sides were moderate in serving size, so you didn't feel overwhelmed by portions. The staff was courteous and very attentive, without being overbearing or giving a sense of hovering around the table. Will definitely dine there again!"

  • "So I took a chance and booked reservations for Mothers Day here. Started off with Salads, (Amazing), Kids meals taste and Portions (Awesome), Salmon (Great), Filet (Over Cooked - Asked for Medium Rate), Desert (Amazing). Okay so yes the Filet was over cooked and it was for my Wife. This was unfortunate as I saw other tables get Medium Rare (Perfect). Danny and His Staff saw this and also stated that it was unacceptable and went above and beyond to do everything to make Mothers Day the best for my wife despite the Filet. I would recommend going there as I would give it a go again. (note: They sent home with us a Filet Rare and it was great)"

  • "Danny's did not live up to its hype. Our salads were wonderful, which gave us high hopes for our entrée. Alas it was not to be. We ordered the grilled rib eye steak cooked to medium rare. Part of the steak was medium rare, but part of the meat was blue. Our server actually requested that we check our orders to be sure that they were cooked to our request; unfortunately, while the middle of the steak was indeed cooked perfectly the outer reaches of our meat slabs were not. Our server would have been pleased to take back our orders to the kitchen for touching-up but: Danny's is first and foremost a steak house. Should they not know how to cook a steak? There was no season whatsoever on our steaks. None. ??? "

  • "We had a 7PM reservation Saturday night and had to wait 35 minutes. They had last minute diners. However, there was a table for 4 sitting empty the whole time we were waiting. The hostess said it was booked for 7 PM same as ours, but the people hadn't arrived by the time we were finally seated. It was extremely noisy. She wouldn't put two people there - we could have eaten and gone by the time they filled the table. we wouldn't go on a saturday night. There also was a charge of $5 for valet parking. Shold have driven around while we were waiting fora free spot."

  • "I have been dying to try this place for years and I am also looking for a nice steak in Monmouth county. I made a reservation, we get there and the place was not that crowded but yet the hostess decided to sit us all on top of each other UGH I hate that. The steak came I ordered the ribeye it was small bigger than the outback but small and it had no flavor and I never saw the waitress I always had to keep calling her over. The bar looked active but the restaurant not so much - I think Danny needs the Mystery STakeout to come back and help him again"

  • "What can I say, many lunches here and some dinners. Saw and talked to Danny, the owner, twice on my last visit and the restaurant was at capacity all-night. We started at the bar, then moved to the table. First table was a little tight for Big Daddy (me) so they were all over it and moved us to another table within minutes. We had a show to see at 7:30 that night so they put us a the tight table quick so we could get our orders in and make the show with time to spare. The steaks were superb, cooked exactly to perfection for the table which ranged from my medium rare through to a well done for my cousin."
