This gem in Hilton Head features outstanding "big-small plates" from three different continents. Three of us shared the shrimp & calamari, gyros sliders and the shrimp scampi pizzetta as appetizers - delicious! We also ordered tender steaks from their full entree menu, and needless to say, we took home leftovers!

Tapas was very good. Extremely disappointed in two small details. My family and I ordered iced tea. After tasting it, we knew it was not fresh brewed and asked the waitress to bring us water. We left it without drinking it. The waitress admitted it was from the soda machine. We were charged for the tea we did not drink. Even Red Robin and Dunkin Donuts serve brewed tea. What's up with that Daniels? Lettuce salad although fresh, was disappointing nothing creative - missing a few fresh items.

We were looking for a steakhouse, and while there were steaks on the menu, it's not what we ate. The bulk of the menu is devoted to small plates or tapas, and featuring American, Mediterranean and Asian themes. We filled up on those and had lots of interesting food to share. Great Greek and Asian beef salad, wonderful chicken pesto flatbread pizza, fish tacos, gyros. Then we had chocolate lava cake and sweet fondue for dessert. All excellent. Out waitress, Xenab, was charming and extremely helpful. We will be back.

We had a wonderful 50th anniversary dinner for my parents. The food was great and there was something for everyone to enjoy. My dad is a steak guy so he was able to order from one menu, while my mom loves to taste what everyone's having normally, so the big small plates were perfect. The teens loved the fondue to top off the dinner.

This is a wonderful restaurant, especially for large groups, since the menu features a little bit of everything. It is divided by regions of the world, so if you have a group or family where some like Middle Eastern food, some like Indian, some like American, some like Latin, etc. you will be able to find something for everyone. The food is delicious and the presentation of the food is spectacular. Many of the dishes look like works of art! The inside of the restaurant looks a little bit like a Hobbit house with the circular entrance ways. Flights of wine are particularly good and attractively served. All in all, a fabulous experience and one of our family's favorite places to go on an island that is packed with good restaurants.

We discovered Daniel's while taking the "Savor the Low Country" food tour in HIlton Head. We enjoyed the tasty hummus & cinnamon lamb kebabs, and decided to return for dinner the next evening. Our group of 4, (including 2 young adults), enjoyed sharing 7 different "big small plates", including: spicy shrimp & calamari, bacon wrapped dates, lamb kebabs, salmon sliders, caprese pizzetta, soup sampler, and a wonderful fondue pot w/ fruit, marshmallows & more for dessert. All of the plates were excellent, and our server, Kamilla, was friendly & helpful. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant on future trips to Hilton Head. ****Great early bird special from 4:30-6:00 p.m.---25% off the bill****

Daniels is probably our favorite restaurant on the Island. The food is always fabulous. This time got the margarita pizza- it has an amazing balsamic drizzle, the polynesian steak (perfect blend of sweetness with a soy marinade), a steak dish with tomato and mozzarella (the only critique would be not to deep fry the mozzarella, but serve it uncooked) and fried oysters. For dessert we shared the creme brûlée flight and the fondue. I was not a fan of the creme brûlée, as I like mine smoother. The fondue was excellent. We had both a chocolate pot and dulche de leche. This was served with strawberries, banana, pineapple and marshmallows. What was really cool was a small kettle in the middle to toast the marshmallows before dipping.

We've been to Daniels twice before and the food, service and ambience were excellent. We were quite disappointed this time, although the food was still delicious. Our table was in a back corner and the noise level was very loud. We felt a bit forgotten way back there, because the service was slow. For the experience this time, we felt it was very overpriced. We will not be returning.

Daniel's has an interesting, different atmosphere. We liked how the tables didn't seem too close together, and it felt as if we had more privacy. Seating is comfortable. The service was lacking. The servers were very friendly, but they seemed very understaffed and a little overwhelmed. It took a very long time before we even got water after sitting down, and then again a long time for us to receive our drinks. The menu was underwhelming. Dishes ranged from very good to less that appetizing. Drink selection was good, especially for martinis. Would probably only go back for drinks and maybe just light fare, not dinner.

This is so far the worst restaurant that I've dined at while on vacation in Hilton Head the last 8 years. The waiter/host was very unprofessional, I asked to please sit at the booth since my husband just had back surgery and it would be impossible for him to sit In a bar stool type chair. He responded by telling me the booth was already reserved. Hello, does an opentable reservation not count. Regardless the booth was still empty when we left. He then sat us at at booth that was the most beat up torn up seating I have ever seen in a restaurant. this place needs a major renovation.ITs dirty, smelly and very beat up. I realize this is a nightclub after hours but even nightclubs can be clean. The food is just mediocre at best. Will not return

It seems like on Hilton Head you have several really good restaurants - but your options as to the type of food seems redundant. You either have seafood/low country, burger/wings/brew, steak/seafood, pizza/Italian or BBQ. Daniel's breaks the mold. The food is outstanding and the variety of choices is unusual. While the menu encompasses all the aforementioned, it's presented in different and delicious ways. And then there are several international dishes that really open up the options. Because you are also given the options of "big" small plates or entree sized dishes you can either sample many or settle in on a favorite. The food was outstanding and the service professional and attentive.

Hilton Head has a lot of great restaurants, but they can be somewhat generic and interchangeable. Daniels definitely stands out for both food and setting. The interior is unique in the best way. The dark interior, set off by the red backlights on the bar area, provide a setting unlike anything else on the island. Additionally, the menu was varied and interesting. My wife and I ordered from the tapas menus, selecting dishes from each of the different ethic menus: American, Mediterranean, and Asian/Indian. The only issue, as it were, was that the portions were large for a tapas menu. My wife and I found ourselves getting full quickly, despite sharing each plate. I would have preferred a little smaller and cheaper portions.

This restaurant is right in the middle of "tourist central" but once you get inside, you wouldn't know it. The menu was one-of-a-kind and the food was outstanding! The ribeye and filet were delicious, tableside hummus and goat cheese sofrito were to die for, and the fondue was indescribably wonderful. John was great (server) as were others that delivered food and refilled water glasses. Parking in the garage under the restaurant was plentiful. We are locals and will be back regularly!

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic evening at Daniel's while on our annual vacation on Hilton Head Island. The restaurant is located in a shopping center, but the interior was sleek and beautiful with nice lighting and modern décor. Daniel's feastures small plates with big flavors from all over the world. We started our meal with the humus platter, prepared table side. This was the best humus I have ever tasted! My husband and I next ordered the Lamb Tagine (sp.?) and the Angry Lobster with shrimp fried rice. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and delicious. We also ordered a couple of cocktails from their specialty drink menu and those were excellent as well.

Tried Daniel's at Hilton Head 2 nights ago and found it to be great. Had wondered since a couple of previous reviews on various sites were so-so. Didn't think any of the couple of complaints to be valid in the least!! It was NOT loud (possibly referring to outside tables, situated around a spot for entertainers/musicians, and THAT area was a bit loud). Inside was quiet and wonderful. Decor is WAY different but beautiful. Ultra-modern, quirky, and unique, but really cool and well-done. Service excellent--watched other servers & saw same. Large menu fantastic, tapas items from 3 areas of globe, plus a short traditional menu. Food awesome. I had Venezuelan Gaucho Filet, also Israeli Lamb Tangine. Both wonderful! Craving and will return!

We went to Daniel's as a group of 8. It was the perfect location for a large group. We were able to sample several "big small plates" of food themed from the various continents of the world. The drinks were creative and great! The ambiance is lively and hip, more like an urban lounge than a restaurant in Hilton Head. The only issue we had was the service. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was half-full. Yet, our waiter seemed frazzled and it took forever to get our drinks. He seemed as though he just kept forgetting to put in our orders with the bartender because the bar was not ready. We will likely return but make sure to get a drink at the bar before sitting down.
